## Jira Reviews
  ### 1. Great visibility and workflow tracking for sales onboarding, but room to improve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samiksha R. | Sales Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

for my workflow, Jira has been a valuable tool for managing customer onboarding project , implementation request , sales operations initiative and collaboration with technical teams, while Jira is traditionally associated with software development , it has also helped our sales organization improved project tracking, accountability and communication across department, the biggest advantage of Jira is visibility it provides into task , project status and owenership, it allows sales, implementation , support and engineering teams to work from a shared system.. ensuring that customer related project and request are tracked effectively,. i regularly use Jira for customer onboarding tracking, implementation project coordination, feature request management, sales operations initiative, cross functional project collaboration , escalation tracking .the platform provides provides a structured and organized way to manage project, kanban boards, dashboards, and workfow tracking make it easy to understand project status and identify bottlenecks, feature i find useful include customer workflows, kanban and agile boards, tasks ownership tracking , project dashboards and automated notification, advanced search and filtering,. Jira integration effectively with tools used across sales and business operations . the platform performs reliably for project tracking , collaboration and reporting , even when managing multiple project and teams, Jira provides strong visibility into progress and tasks owenership.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

sometimes it can feel overly complex for business users who are not involved in technical project management on a daily basis, the platform offers extensive customization and functionality, which is powerful but it can also makes navigation and adoption more challenging for sales teams, i have also found that highly customized workflows can sometimes create additional administrative overhead, when multiple department use Jira differently, maintaining consistency across project and reports and become difficult, another challenge is that generating executive level reports often requires additional configuration or dashboards customization to present information in a way that is most useful for business clients,

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira helps me to solve several challenges related to project visibility cross functional collaboration, tasks tracking and customer implementation mangement, before using Jira, coordinating activities between sales, implementations, support and engineering teams often relied on emails, spreadsheets and manual follow ups making it difficult to tracking progress and accountability,.it solves problems such as lack of visibility into project status and customer request, difficulty tracking tasks ownership and deadlines, communication gaps between sales and technical teams, delatys in customer onboarding and implementation projects. it has improves communication between sales, customer sales, customer success, support and engineering teams by providing a share workspace where updates discussions, and project status are accessible to all clients.

  ### 2. Jira: A Robust Tool for Structured Project Execution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishal J. | Volunteer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I like many things like
Powerful Workflow Customization
Like Setting up a QA stage before "Done" ensures nothing goes live without testing - this alone can prevent costly errors.

Boards (Scrum & Kanban)
It helping :
- Quickly move tasks between stages without friction
- Provides real-time visibility into team workload
- Makes daily standups faster and more effective

Issue Linking & Traceability
-You can see how everything connects (e.g., a bug → story → epic)
 - Helps with impact analysis when changes happen
 - Makes audits and retrospectives much easier
Advanc search
 - JQL : You can create highly specific filters

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

Sometimes Performance Can Be Slow
like In larger instances (lots of projects, issues, plugins), Jira can feel sluggish.

Steep Learning Curve (Especially JQL & Setup)
challanges is : Too many fields, statuses, and options upfront
Understanding issue hierarchy (Epic → Story → Subtask) takes time

Limited Flexibility Without Plugins
- Out-of-the-box Jira doesn’t always meet business needs.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ira mainly solves the problem of lack of visibility and control in managing work, especially when multiple people, tasks, and dependencies are involved. Here’s how that translates into real benefits:

  ### 3. Jira Brings Structure and Visibility to Complex Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atharva S. | Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

What I like best about Jira is its ability to bring structure and visibility to complex workflows. It makes it easy to track tasks, bugs, and progress across a team in a very organized way. Features like customizable boards (Scrum/Kanban), detailed ticketing, and clear status tracking help everyone stay aligned on priorities and deadlines.

I also appreciate how it integrates with development tools and supports end-to-end tracking—from issue creation to deployment—which makes collaboration between teams much smoother.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

One thing I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overly complex, especially for new users. The interface isn’t always intuitive, and setting up workflows or navigating between boards, tickets, and filters can take time to get used to.

It can also become slow or cluttered when there are too many custom fields, statuses, or poorly structured projects. In some cases, simple tasks end up requiring a lot of steps, which can reduce efficiency instead of improving it.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira solves the problem of tracking and managing work in a structured, transparent way. Without it, tasks, bugs, and priorities can easily become scattered across emails, chats, or personal notes, making it hard to maintain visibility and accountability.

It benefits me by giving a clear view of what needs to be done, what’s in progress, and what’s blocked. I can prioritize work effectively, track bugs systematically, and collaborate with my team using a single source of truth. It also helps in sprint planning and progress tracking, ensuring deadlines are met and nothing important slips through the cracks.

  ### 4. Fluent Ticket Management with Great UI and Powerful Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitin S. | Staff Software Engineers, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Many internal features like Tickets management, confluence and integrations with 3rd party apps for testing. Great UI and work fluently well even in 1000 of tickets.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

One aspect I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overly complex, especially for new users or smaller teams. The large number of configuration options, workflows, issue types, and permissions can make it difficult to navigate and maintain. It can also become cluttered if projects aren't well organized, making it harder to find relevant information quickly. However, these challenges are generally manageable with good project governance and standardized workflows, and the flexibility Jira provides often outweighs these drawbacks for larger engineering teams.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira helps solve the challenges of planning, tracking, and managing software development work across teams. It provides a centralized place to manage backlogs, sprints, user stories, bugs, and tasks, while giving visibility into progress, priorities, and dependencies.

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, Jira benefits me by helping me:

* Plan and prioritize work effectively during sprint planning.
* Track the progress of features, bugs, and technical debt in one place.
* Collaborate efficiently with product managers, designers, QA, and backend engineers.
* Monitor sprint health using dashboards and reports such as burndown charts and velocity.
* Maintain traceability from requirements through development, testing, and release.
* Integrate with tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development workflow.

Overall, Jira improves team transparency, accountability, and delivery predictability, allowing us to focus more on building high-quality software and less on managing work manually.

  ### 5. Jira Delivers Strong Traceability, Sprint Planning, and Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sundeep G. | Senior Quality Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

1. AI-Powered Work Assistance
2. Rovo AI Search and Knowledge Discovery
3. Better Cross-Team Planning

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

1. Simplicity and Ease of Use

Jira's flexibility is both a strength and a weakness.

New users can feel overwhelmed by projects, issue types, workflows, screens, custom fields, and permissions.
Different teams often configure Jira differently, making it harder to move between projects.

A more opinionated, simpler default experience could reduce the learning curve.

2. Configuration Complexity

Many organizations end up with:

Hundreds of custom fields
Numerous workflow variants
Complex automation rules

Over time, Jira instances can become difficult to maintain.

Better governance tools and AI-driven cleanup recommendations would help administrators keep systems healthy.

3. Search and Reporting

Jira's search is powerful, but it often requires knowledge of filters and query syntax.

Users frequently want to ask:

"What's blocking this release?"
"Which high-priority items are at risk?"
"Where are we missing owners?"

Natural-language analytics could make reporting much more accessible.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. “Where is all the work actually at?”

Most teams struggle with fragmented work tracking—tasks in chat, spreadsheets, emails, or people’s heads. Jira centralizes everything into one system so you can see:

what’s being worked on
who’s working on it
what’s blocked
what’s done vs. pending

Benefit: less confusion, fewer missed tasks, and clearer accountability.

2. Coordination across multiple people and teams

Once a project involves multiple engineers, QA, product, or ops teams, coordination becomes hard. Jira structures work into issues, epics, and boards so dependencies are visible.

Benefit: fewer “I thought you were doing that” gaps and better cross-team alignment.

3. Managing complexity in delivery (especially software)

Software work isn’t linear—it has bugs, reviews, releases, and changing requirements. Jira models that reality with:

workflows (To Do → In Progress → Done, etc.)
sprint planning (Scrum boards)
Kanban flow tracking

Benefit: work becomes predictable enough to plan, even when it’s messy underneath.

4. Prioritization and trade-offs

Jira makes it easier to rank tasks, assign story points, and track backlog items. That helps teams decide what not to do as much as what to do.

Benefit: reduces random task switching and keeps focus on higher-impact work.

5. Visibility and reporting

Managers and teams can see dashboards, burndown charts, cycle time, and throughput.

Benefit: decisions are based on data instead of gut feeling (“Are we actually shipping faster or just feeling busy?”).

  ### 6. Jira Keeps Marketing Projects Organized—After a Short Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preeti T. | Marketing Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

Jira helped me to stay organized while managing multiple managing project as, a marketing intern, Jira gave me a structured way to manage tasks, monitor campaign progress and collaborate with different teams, since marketing project, often involve content creators, designers , sales team and managers , having a centralized platform made it easier to stay aligned and meet deadlines, its ability to provide visibility into every stage of a project, instead of replying on email chains or spreadsheets, i could tack assingment, deadlines, approvals, and project status from a single dashboards. i regularly used Jira for marketing campaign planning, content creating tracking, social media scheduling request, event and webinar coordination creative asses review, tasks assignment and follow ups, cross team collaboration, after a short learning period, the interface became easy to navigate, kanban boards were especially useful because they provide a visual representation of work in progress and upcoming priorities, features i found most valuable include, kanban and scrum boards, tasks comments and collaboration , due date tracking, etc, it integrates well with Google workspace. and agentforce sales. performance is reliable and goof.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

sometimes it feels overwhelming for new users because of the number of project boards, workflows , issues types and configuration options available , during my initial onboarding , it took some time to understand how different project were organized and how tasks moved through various stages, i also found that simple marketing tasks can sometimes require more administrative updates than expected, such as changing statuses, updating fields, or linking related tickets , while these processes improve tracking and accountability they can occasionally slow down day to day work, also creating customized reporting and dashboards can require some learning , especially for users who are not familiar with project management tools.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira solves many important challenge related to project organizations, tasks tracking, team collaboration and campaign execution, marketing project often involve multiple client, tight deadlines, and numerous moving parts, making it difficult to keep everyone aligned without a centralized project management systems, it solves problems such as lack of visibility into project progress missed deadlines and tasks ownership confusion, difficulty coordinating work across teams, inefficient tracking of campaing activities, communication gaps between departments manual project management and status updates, its very useful for marketing campaign planning and execution, content creation and approval workflows, social media project management , event and webinar coordination,, cross functional collaboration. its boards , workflow and automation features helps ensures that project move smoothly from planning to execution while providing transparency for everyone involved it also helps managers monitors progress and quickly identify potential issues.

  ### 7. Jira Keeps Work Organized with Powerful Boards

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ioana C. | Appian Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

What I like most about Jira is how it helps me organize and track work in a clear, structured way. With boards, issues, and workflows, it’s easy to see who’s working on what, what’s blocked, and what should happen next. I also appreciate its strong customization and reporting options, which let teams adapt Jira to their own processes and quickly understand progress, priorities, and bottlenecks.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

What I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overly complex and cluttered, especially for new users or smaller teams. Setting up workflows, permissions, and custom fields can take a lot of time, and when it isn’t configured well, it becomes difficult to locate information quickly. It can also feel slow or heavy at times, and with so many options and screens, even simple tasks can end up taking longer than they should.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira helps solve the challenge of keeping work organized, visible, and easy to track across a team. It brings tasks, bugs, and projects into one central place, so everyone can see what needs to be done, who owns each item, and how priorities are set. Its boards, workflows, and reports make it easier to spot blockers and bottlenecks early, which supports better planning, smoother collaboration, and more consistent on-time delivery. Overall, it reduces confusion, miscommunication, and the need for manual tracking, helping the team stay efficient and aligned.

  ### 8. Efficient but Needs UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitesh K. | Youtuber, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Jira?**

I appreciate how Jira bifurcates issues of any current software development problem, helping us examine difficulties based on user stories. I also like the report-based feature, making it easy to view the burndown chart and user performance. As a senior developer, I use the burndown chart and velocity report to understand how the user story is performing. I enjoy the flexibility of Jira, especially the ability to add custom fields and customize the current sprint board. Switching to Jira was beneficial as it offers better reporting for both the business and development teams. The initial setup was quick and very easy for us, allowing us to set up a project without hassle.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

The UI of Jira can be improved a bit since it's just okish. There are so many options to go through when editing, which can be overwhelming. Sometimes Jira is a little laggy, especially when working on a slow internet connection, and it takes time to load when opening a user story.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jira for project management, and it solves software development issues by bifurcating problems. It helps me track user story difficulties and view performance with reports like burn down charts, benefiting both the business and development teams with better reporting.

Features like customizable workflows, sprint planning, dashboards, and detailed issue tracking help improve visibility and productivity across the team. As a QA lead, Jira makes it easy to monitor bug status, prioritize tasks, and ensure smooth communication between team members.

**What do you dislike about Jira?**

1- When the number of users is more than 10, Jira restricts users’ access to their work when the number of users exceeds 10, which results in users being unable to access or use the data that has already been entered. Therefore, a subscription is required.
2- The learning curve can be steep for new users, and configuring workflows, permissions, and custom fields may take time. Some advanced features are not always intuitive and can require additional training or administrator support.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1- Centralized tracking for tasks, bugs, and project activities.
2-Better visibility into the status of development and testing work.
3-Easier collaboration between QA, developers, product owners, and project managers.

One thing I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overwhelming for new users due to the large number of features and configuration options. Setting up workflows and permissions may require some learning, and the interface can sometimes feel complex when managing large projects with many issues.

**What problems is Jira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jira solves the challenge of managing projects, tracking tasks, and coordinating work across teams. It provides a centralized platform where all project activities, requirements, bugs, and progress can be tracked efficiently. This helps improve team collaboration, increases transparency, and ensures tasks are completed on time. For me, it helps keep projects organized and provides better visibility into ongoing work.
