**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Infosec Skills?**

I have taken two courses from Infosec with a third lined up. Two first time passes along with solid networking with classmates were well worth the price of admission. On the technical cert (CEH) I learned so much more than the test captured. The CISSP bootcamp gave me a great refresher so that I could pass the adaptive exam in a single go.

**What do you dislike about Infosec Skills?**

I felt the online courses just were not as good as the in person courses. Now with COVID though. And I disliked the DRM that they used for the training material, pain in the rear.

**Recommendations to others considering Infosec Skills:**

Take the exam pass guarantee or go SANS.

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly, I still use the skills and techniques I learned from my first bootcamp all the time as they are solid foundation.

**Recommendations to others considering Infosec Skills:**

Infosec flex provided great flexibility and convenience for completing classes remotely.

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to maintain 40 hours of CPE's annually. I leverage Infosec Flex to meet these requirements while also achieving additional certifications. Our entire team utilizes the same methodology to maintain certifications. We prefer to complete the classes in this manner so we meet annual requirements within one week.

The course material allows one to zone in on the actual material that one needs to learn to take the Security+ exam and pass the certification test.

**What do you dislike about Infosec Skills?**

Students whom wants the instructor to teach the material directly from the book and not let the instructor teach from experience.

**Recommendations to others considering Infosec Skills:**

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Infosec Skills?**

I have never been very good at taking tests. With the infosec training, I was able to pass my CCNA R&S and VCP-DCV first try. The information is well rounded and the class format helped me get ready for the test that I don't think I could have done on my own. It was definitely a lot of work and a lot of study time but the class kept us focused.

**What do you dislike about Infosec Skills?**

I don't have any dislikes for the classes in which I participated. There were certain frustrations that came about in regards to the certification track that I was on, but that wasn't the fault of Infosec. An example would be the 5 week course just to set for the bootcamp for VCP-DCV.

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been a VMware admin for years, but with the class I have the confidence to be more hands on. When it is time for new hardware, I will not feel like I should have a SME on site to do the install, I will do it myself thus saving time and money.

**What do you like best about Infosec Skills?**

The instructor was well informed and taught the material from a hand-on perspective which helped me to retain the content versus memorizing. But more importantly, we spent a lot of time going over the exam question format and learning how to break down questions to identify the best answer. For me, this mixture was the key to passing this exam on the first attempt!

**What do you dislike about Infosec Skills?**

The practice questions were good at learning and quizzing on the content but not a good representative of the exam questions. I think this can be confusing and shocking going into the test expecting one question format and getting something totally different.

**Recommendations to others considering Infosec Skills:**

Be prepared for the boot camp but learning the content before attending.

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In addition to attaining the CISSP certificate, the course did help define some fundamental areas that have been taken for granted. It was a good to review and understand other areas outside the scope of my current position.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lloyd C. | Tier 2 Help Desk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Infosec Skills?**

The thing I like best is how everything is straightforward and easy to find. It's broken down into sections that are named in a fashion that makes it very easy to find what your looking for. I was immediately able to find some videos about social engineering and penetration testing that were able to answer a couple questions I had. Other things that I like include the interface on the site itself. Everything is clean, not cluttered, and the choice to go with a dark gray/black color theme makes it not hard to look at.

**What do you dislike about Infosec Skills?**

The only things I disliked were a couple of functionality things. It would be nice to see a "Next Video" button when watching videos in a series, eg I just finished "Social Engineering: Attack Methods" the "Next Video" button would take me to "Social Engineering: Motivation Factors" or even just have it auto play the next video. One other thing that I felt might did notwork as I would have like it to, was the Assess your skills test having a 30 second timer per question. I had a few questions time out while I was still reading the question or just as I was about to click an answer.

**Recommendations to others considering Infosec Skills:**

Definitely worth using if there is anything listed in the many many things they have training on. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a training resource for themselves or for their teams.

**What problems is Infosec Skills solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using this platform to gain some more knowledge and insight to prepare myself for the Pentest+ exam that I am hoping to take some time this next year.
