**Reviewed by:** Bhoopathy S. | Geographic Information Systems Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Google Earth Pro is one of the best mapping tools because it allows users to explore the world in 3D using detailed satellite images. It helps people view cities, mountains, oceans, and famous landmarks from their computers. One of its most useful features is historical imagery, which shows how places have changed over time. Users can also measure distances and land areas accurately. The software supports Street View, making it possible to see locations from ground level. It is helpful for students, teachers, travelers, and researchers. Another interesting feature is the flight simulator, which makes virtual exploration enjoyable. Users can create custom maps, save locations, and plan routes easily. Google Earth Pro is free to use and offers an exciting way to learn about the world. Learn more at Google Earth Pro.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

One thing I dislike about Google Earth Pro is that some areas do not have updated satellite images, so the information can sometimes be old. The software may also run slowly on computers with low performance. Internet connection is required for smooth loading of maps and 3D views. Some features can be difficult for beginners to understand at first. In certain places, the image quality is not very clear. The application also uses a large amount of storage and memory. Occasionally, Street View is unavailable in remote areas. The interface looks a bit outdated compared to newer mapping apps. It may crash when handling large data files. Despite these drawbacks, Google Earth Pro is still a very useful tool for exploring the world.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Earth Pro solves the problem of finding detailed geographic information quickly and easily. It allows users to explore places around the world without traveling physically. The software helps in viewing satellite images, measuring distances, and locating important places accurately. It also solves the problem of understanding how locations have changed over time through historical imagery. Students and researchers can use it for learning and projects, while travelers can plan routes and explore destinations before visiting. Businesses and planners benefit from map analysis and land measurement tools. Street View helps users understand real-world locations more clearly. It saves time and reduces travel costs by providing virtual exploration. The software also makes geographic learning more interactive and interesting. Overall, Google Earth Pro benefits users by making world exploration simple, informative, and convenient.

  ### 2. A superpower for remote site assessment and historical mapping

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anuj Ayyan N. | Student Intern, Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Honestly, Google Earth Pro feels like having a literal superpower right at your fingertips. From a UI/UX standpoint, it strikes a brilliant balance between professional-grade utility and pure, intuitive exploration. Swooping down from a global view into a crisp, high-resolution 3D rendering of a city street feels incredibly smooth. The interface stays out of your way and lets you focus entirely on data visualization.
What really blows me away is its robust performance and capability for data integrations. Even when I am importing massive GIS datasets, layering complex KML/KMZ files, or pulling in external CSV addresses, the software handles the heavy lifting gracefully. It processes spatial data and syncs with third-party map layers without stuttering, which is a massive win for cross-platform workflows.
On top of that, the support and onboarding experience is excellent. Because it is backed by Google, the sheer volume of accessible tutorials, community forums, and guided documentation means you are never truly stuck. Whether you are a student mapping a project or an engineer analyzing terrain, the learning curve is exceptionally gentle. It takes complex geospatial science and makes it feel entirely human, approachable, and highly collaborative across different platforms.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

If I have to nitpick, the desktop software can occasionally show its age when it comes to modern cloud data workflows. While the standard performance is generally solid, loading incredibly dense historical imagery or attempting real-time integrations with dynamic web map services (WMS) can cause the program to stutter or temporarily freeze. It definitely demands a decent amount of local RAM and a solid graphics card to run flawlessly at peak data loads.
Additionally, while the UI/UX is familiar and highly functional, the overall aesthetic feels a bit dated, like a relic from the late 2000s desktop era. It lacks the sleek, modern minimalism you see in newer web-based mapping applications, and importing non-standard data formats often requires manual conversion before it plays nice with the software.
Lastly, while the onboarding documentation is vast, finding answers to highly specific, niche technical errors, especially regarding broken API links or custom shapefile integration failures, sometimes requires digging through old, archived community forums rather than a direct support channel. It’s a minor inconvenience, but when you are on a tight deadline trying to troubleshoot a corrupted data layer, clicking through pages of old threads can feel frustrating.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the professional world, handling geographic data used to mean wrestling with expensive, highly complex GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) software that required months of specialized training. Google Earth Pro bridges that gap by solving several major real-world problems:
Remote Site Assessment: Instead of spending thousands of dollars flying teams out to physically survey remote terrain, professionals can remotely analyze topographies, view high resolution 3D buildings, and measure distances or perimeters right from their desktops.
Environmental & Infrastructure Tracking: By using the Historical Imagery slider, researchers and urban planners can track decades of change, such as deforestation, urban sprawl, or coastal erosion, solving the problem of fragmented historical data.
Data Siloing: It serves as a universal translator for spatial data. It allows users to easily import and overlay disparate datasets like ESRI Shapefiles, CSV address lists, and GPS tracks directly onto a photorealistic 3D digital twin of the Earth.

  ### 3. A Comprehensive Geospatial Exploration Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zacheriah P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Google Earth Pro is still the go-to for desktop-based geospatial exploration and basic GIS tasks. Even though its interface feels a bit like a time capsule from the mid-2000s, the recent updates like AI-driven data layer searching and 3D model imports keep it highly relevant for both professionals and hobbyists. I appreciate the advanced features that are only accessible on the Pro version, such as high-resolution printing, moviemaking, and handling massive GIS data. The AI integration that allows finding specific data layers using natural language prompts is particularly impressive. The 10-meter resolution slope and aspect layers are game-changers for site planning and topographic analysis. I love the historical imagery feature, which lets you slide back through decades of satellite photos, unmatched by any free competitors. Plus, the ability to import custom GLB files for visualizing new structures in a real-world environment is a notable advantage. The software is completely free and offers professional-grade tools at zero cost.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

The navigation transition between street view and top down can be jarring.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Google Earth Pro for geospatial exploration and GIS tasks. Its updates, like AI-driven data layers, keep it relevant. It's the go-to for advanced features such as high-resolution printing and moviemaking, essential for site planning and analysis.

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

The Google Pro has advanced features which allows me to map delivery polygons, select new stores location by using a 3D view of the area & near by businesses, & view all my stores pinned at a globe.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Google Earth Pro lacks the fluidity & it's quite slow to show a 3D of a location, for someone who has to check 350+ stores, it becomes very time consuming. The UI interface can also be made simpler.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has very easy integration options which allows me to update the my new stores, & pins by just adding the updated file every quarter.

  ### 5. its vary easy to find location

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

google earh in any levels count are vary easy for sewer line design and shown level on earth what is level that gound level

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

google earth doing file saveas is very difficult, make too easy to use

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

print preview is a square area this is not a landscape, so I think the print area is a landscape adjustable according to size, and the print preview does not show a compass.

  ### 6. It saved me hours of work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori A. | Research and Consulting Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

I love that I can upload files with the coordinates of the places I want to locate and that I can save those maps as part of "My Places" and even share them with other people. In my real estate work, this is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

That at the beginning it is not very intuitive to use. It would be great to have a tutorial for each tool to know what options it has and how they can help us in our work.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Regarding the desktop application, which is the one I use, it has some problems such as the fact that the images sometimes appear blurry (not very good quality) so it doesn't allow me to locate myself well in those places. I've also experienced it freezing when I use a lot of data. As for the utility, it doesn't accept the import of Excel files, so I always have to convert them to another format to be able to upload my files, and that takes a bit of time. Even so, the option to upload my files with coordinates saves me a lot of time when creating maps, instead of doing it one by one and manually. Something I would like Google Earth Pro to have is the ability to change the map background (with other relief styles, for example), which is quite useful for me at work.

  ### 7. Easy Location Saving and Sharing for Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

The ability to save locations and share them with other workers.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

It slows up alot the more locations you have saved.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing any new staff members customer locations has never been easier.

  ### 8. Detailed Location Insights That Make Exploration Easy

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

It provides a very detailed view of locations and makes it easy to explore and analyze different places.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

At times, it feels outdated, and performance can be slow—especially on older systems.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me visualize geographic locations clearly, and it saves time compared to doing map research manually.

  ### 9. Trouble with being unable to switch of the display of place names in local languages

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Baerbel S. | Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

The satellite images have a really high resolution and the time back function is great.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

I really hate the fact that Google Earth is showing place names in local languages with non latin scripts and has no user friendly to turn that off. I have changed my entire systems setting and my email account settings to English (US) only.
I have set the language settings in Google Earth to English (US) only. Still, it is showing the maps for India with place names in both English and the local script.
When I go into the fonts to disable all fonts other than latin the system first says that it needs to be restarted to apply these settings and defaults back to "any" during the restart. This makes the maps created unusable for publication purposes because
1) it is not good to show stuff written in other languages/scrips in submissions to journals that have English as their language.
2) It makes it impossible to cut the map such that no name gets cut.
I am really frustrated about this feature and the non-availability of easy switches to switch it off. I had to stop using labels altogether and start photoshopping names into the map in paint to work around this shitty new feature.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating maps for publications

  ### 10. Very usefull for drone pilots

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

It's beneficial for drone scouting thanks to its 3D view and sunlight orientation to decide where and when to do drone flights

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

It doesn't have cloud or Google Account synchronization, so when you want to share saved places and pins, you need to export KLM documents

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find places to do drone flights

  ### 11. Google Earth Pro: Powerful, versatile and best of all, free

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aneurys Nicanor A. | Project Manager, Civil Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Despite being a super useful program for locating coordinates of KMZ CAD files, the interface is very intuitive and easy to use. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a very experienced user, working with this software and all the specific functions is quite simple and comfortable.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Sometimes Google Earth Pro image data can be downloaded for offline use, but much of Google Earth Pro's functionality depends on having an Internet connection, which can be limiting for field work in remote areas and if your work is outside of previously downloaded data.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Earth Pro is a free tool for visualizing and analyzing georeferenced data, which in my case is for professional reasons. The high-resolution images allow me to have an idea of the field space occupied by the engineering projects I work on.

  ### 12. Google Earth- A powerful tools for tailored analysis

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

The best thing about google earth is you can use it to conduct different productive analysis based on your business and network needs. You can create your customised KML files and run your analysis to get desired outcomes

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Although there is not anything much to dislike but if developer can reduce software size then it would really beneficial to occupy less space in systems's RAM

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is beneficial in different domains like Network planning, Network analysis and short term/long term predictions

  ### 13. They have lost interest

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian G. | I am retired but I am engaged in historical research which I do publish, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

being able to type in a post code or place name to find somewhere

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

The ongoing problem I have is that there is no good way of organising placemarks. I have hundreds and hundreds but only the small panel to work with. In practical terms this means putting them into folders is impossible. They show no interest in helping this - and it would be so easy to do because it is very easy to organise eg bookmarks in Firefox.

In recent times the image quality has deteriorated so it is very often extremely difficult to find places and using images becomes less and less feasible.

There is no customer support and they seem to have disabled the feedback feature.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past it has helped me to find places and even people nearby. But in recent times it has become close to useless which is wny I am now actively looking round for alternative solutions.

  ### 14. Amazing program for map images!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amie S. | Graphic Designer, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Love the ability to customize the area that I'd like to show and then be able to export the image at the resolution that works for my needs (also nice to be able to turn different label layers on or off, as well as other items like the Map Title, compass, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Sometimes the program is a little sensitive when using an optic mouse and will zoom in or out a bit when you don't mean to -- but this is really a very minor thing (and probably more the fault of the mouse sensitivity, or the user, lol)

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company works mainly with clients in the Real Estate industry, so these maps & the ability to save high-res versions of them is indispensable! Perfect addition to finish off something that highlights a property for sale (and its surrounding area)

  ### 15. Google Earth Pro Review

  ### 17. Google Earth: Locate any place from anywhere on the Earth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle C. | Director KPMG, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Google Earth as the name suggests is one of the most powerful engines to provide a detailed view of any place on Earth. It is much better than using Google Maps satellite view to locate and know more about any particular place on Earth. The interface is so simple to use and you don't need to sign-up anywhere to use this service. Search for "Google Earth" on the web and you're ready.
The precision and detailing are better than any other vendor by far. You can get the street view by moving the arrow across the road/highway and visiting every place recorded in the Google database. It not only provides a detailed view of the land but also captures details on mountains, oceans, and forests. Try it you'll enjoy using it.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Google Earth is a powerful service to provide details of places across the globe. The only cons I found of using it is that it sometimes takes much time to load on the web. Additionally it would be great if it provides users features to save favourite places on the Google Earth so that we can refer to it later.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Google Earth to get detailed "Geographic Information" on the nearby areas. This helps us to design our shipment and transportation service and saves hundreds of hours needed to shift goods from one place to another. The street view detailing is extremely useful that we use it to generate a detailed route from one place to another. Google Earth also keeps its information up to date hence we don't have to worry about any of demography changes that happened in the past. This is a very useful service and I recommend everyone to try it once.

  ### 18. Easy to use

Street view for project planning. High level map creation.

  ### 19. More than just Google Maps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel L. | GIS Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

I'm a GIS specialist and use Google Earth Pro to help with sharing data with non-GIS staff. Features can be easily converted to KMLs in ArcGIS and shared with staff. Earth also accepts rest services so viewing things like USGS maps is easily done.I love the amount of features available. You get more than just access to Google basemaps and direction look up. I enjoy that it can be downloaded as a desktop application and as an online application. It can be customized to show various types of coordinate systems. One of the best features is that you can visiualize the terrain in 3D views. Its a free and powerful application and integral for anyone doing any sort of spatial analysis. It also has access to older satellite imagery, making it helpful for determining changes over time.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

The overall feel of the GUI is a bit outdated but at the same time there is success in its simplicity. As a GIS person, I would love improvements on the ability to overaly images with a bit more control, but this doesnt detract from its other features.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides access to an easy to use interface for exploring the world. The contents pane is simple and easy to use and provides many ways to customize data. For anyone looking to share shapefiles or features layers from GIS programs with non-GIS users, this is probably the single best application to do so.

  ### 23. A powerful (and fun) step up from Google Maps and Google Earth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** E.J. R. | Client Success Manager, Owners, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Overall, Google Earth Pro is a great workhorse - it takes a significant amount of processing power though it's pretty extraordinary in terms of the quality of images produced, the ability to go back decades in time almost anywhere on the globe, change day/time for lighting conditions, measure distances, etc. Also amazing that it's available free which is huge for students, young working professionals, etc.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

As mentioned above, it can be rather demanding in terms of processing power required - would not recommend running rendering software like Rhino, Revit, Adobe products etc. in tandem with it if you can help it. Otherwise not too many downsides to speak of!

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great tool for surveying cities, areas of land etc. when researching architecture projects or similar endeavors. Also generally fun to use to go back in time to look at how places have evolved over time etc.

  ### 24. Role of Google Earth Pro in Urban Planning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

Its give us most insight of Earth and its existing landuse. The high resolution imagery also allow us to compare the and make time series analysis and track changes of landuse over time.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

It have some errors like if i put the coordinates by my choice. it will take the marker to the place but showing it away from the actual location. i would love to suggest the make some changes and not upload the cloudy imagery.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The google earth is freely available high resolution Satellite imagery provider. It makes benefits during the landuse planning urban planning and also its good feature of having slopes and elevation in it makes it different from other softwares and can easily use by a beginner in GIS.

  ### 25. Whole globe on your fingetips

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** HARSHIT S. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

Google earth pro is the best service to explore different regions of the whole earth while sitting in the comfort of your room or workplace. You can search different places and zoom in to see the detailed view of that specific place. You can sit in America and see the location in India. It provides a web view as well as a street view of the place. Impressive UI and a wide range of tools.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

While most places have updated data, some areas have outdated images and slightly outdated information. This can be the issue of privacy or maybe information laws, but some data is somewhat irrelevant. This happens in small cities and needs improvement.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To search and have information about remote areas. To understand the locality and structure of nations and cities. The position and stretch of rivers and mountains range. To calculate the distance and difference of area of different regions.

  ### 26. GOOGLE EARTH

  ### 27. Easy, free, convenient and Simple to use mapping tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Md Mehmud S. | GIS/MEL Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Earth Pro?**

It is free. Satellite images are readily available. Clients love to see maps with actual ground colors. Roads are well drawn. Maps can be prepared in few minutes. This is best thing to use in comparison to other mapping tools but unfortunately as there is very few geoprosessing tools and being less complex people dont choose this. People go for the tool with complexities mostly.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

As a simple mapping tool Google Earth Pro is wonderful. However the mapping part can be enabling to insert some text boxes in it. Showing number of points stacked or overlapping at one point can also be helpful. Optional capability to input Lat and Long both together with a space or comma in one box would be handy too. I have not been using google earth recently but as I will be using it very recently, I would like to provide more on user experiences.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mapping of routes used by client is why I used Google Earth Pro recently for. However, I am expecting to join a job where they use google earth to draw the market locations, draw road and measure intersections, draw irrigation canals etc.

One can check the best and latest maps online. Boundaries of country, river, state, etc. It's the best tool for virtually roaming around the world. It's available in in-app and desktop versions so it makes quite a handy use. Google earth helps to explain better as the terrain is in 3d and so is google earth .

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

Some areas are blurred purposefully which is quite a downside. It would be great if all of the earth is accessible to us. Apart from this, it's all good. It has an easy user interface which is convenient and fun to use.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google earth generally helps me to plan my trips. I can digitally survey any location. Also, I use 3d to see physical and geographical features. All this can be accomplished from the physical siting of your home. I find its voyager function of very good use. The time-lapse option of google earth is quite exciting as its uses data from the past 37 years. It helps us to understand how the earth is gradually changing and what are effects of man-made activities which are prooving as an adverse effect on our mother earth.

**What do you dislike about Google Earth Pro?**

The only downside that I can see is that there is no easy way to allow for cloud storage for your personal pins, placemarks, starting points, etc. You have go through the registry to make those changes.

**What problems is Google Earth Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Earth Pro has benefited me in the past because I was able to make overhead maps of areas with the actual views of the buildings for wayfinding diagrams. It helped those viewing because they were able to visually see the buildings versus trying to picture it on a map in their head.
