Intuit Practice management is great but I find that Financial Cents is better suited for my smaller firm. I like being able to record billable time on a specific project. I also like being able to record billable time to a specific client. I really enjoy the document upload feature for clients, this was super helfpul. The chat function is genius. This is comparable to honey book but for accoutnants which is great. The best part of FC is that its easy to use and set up quickly . **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** I do think FC should be 30 days to get the full experience of client relationships. As we know clients do not quickly submit documents so it takes longer than 15 days to get feedback from the client as the user. **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** combining software capabilities from different platforms in one package ### 2. As management we love the capacity report to see who has time for the new clients we sign on. The client dashboard allows everyone to be able to see at a glance all the important information pertaining to that client. The relationships tab allows us to jump easily between all related businesses and that saves us a ton of search time. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** We would like more reports to be available, ie to gather the information that is sitting on the client dashboard (from their about section or the activity section). We would like the ability to use the client chat feature outside of a project - so that they can communicate with us between projects. **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are looking to determine each team member's capacity. We also have been able to streamline all of the apps that our practice uses, this is replacing Asana, TSheets and a number of spreadsheets. ### 3. We needed something that would solidify our workflows, see project status across the firm, and allow for team collaboration (without having to use email!). Financial Cents has hit all 3 of our must-haves. We have loved the accessibility of help and the feedback the company is continually seeking from users. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** The one drawback is that it does not yet have full email integration. You can forward an email to the application to create projects, but you cannot yet integrate email into the application. But I know they are working hard on this, and it is a feature that is coming! **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** The most significant benefits we have realized with Financial Cents are: 1. We are no longer trying to track multiple projects with multiple staff (all working from home) via Excel spreadsheets. I love excel, but not for this! 2. I can easily see which staff may need some help meeting deadlines or which projects are taking more time than expected. 3. We are dealing with less internal email. Messages/ questions about a project are with the project. Everyone can see what has been asked and what has been answered—all without scrolling through emails. 4. I feel like I live out of this, and it would be easier if I didn't have to consistently toggle from the list. After some research and demos, we gave it a try. We are satisfied with the software thus far. I like Financial Cents because they care about clients on an individual level and are open to adding new features upon client’s request. When we began using the software, we appreciated the helpful tutorial videos and we value the ability to chat with Shahram and ask questions that come up as well as request feature additions. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** It is a challenge for us that the Task View in the workflow has tasks that are not ready to be completed. **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had been looking for new workflow software for several reasons: our previous one had many bugs in the system and constantly needed to be fixed. This software solves a great deal of our pain points! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Cathleen V. | Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2020 **What do you like best about Financial Cents?** The visual approach to projects coupled with the ability to filter your view down much easier allows us to get the future "noise" out of our way until needed for time budgeting or a more wide-angle view, letting us hunker down on the here and now, We have moved from a package that was so "noisy" on the dashboard, staff members were keeping their own spreadsheets on projects and tasks. Biggest pain point resolution for us was the collaboration abilities: chat style with the ability to "call out" particular staff members and keep the notes. Too many things were in people's heads, or in their email boxes, not connected with the project or client. I will no longer hear "the client emailed me the info" or "the client texted me the info". While we can't integrate those two sources directly with the software, a quick copy and paste resolves that, call out the staff member with an @name leader and go from there. Indispensable with remote workers, no more broken email threads! The front point person for this software is super responsive to questions, suggestions, etc - I have actually never seen anything like it where sales actually does integrate with support! A simple suggestion to round out the support experience became reality within a week. It is so pleasant to have a software team leave me with a smile on my face every day rather than putting a cloud over my head for the rest of the day. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** No integrated e-mail triage, although you can forward emails to an "in-box" to turn them into one-off projects or to-do items. It was a bit difficult at first to lean into the idea of breaking up our original software into two software packages as this is not a full DMS, but in doing so and purchasing a true, dedicated DMS system, I realize how much our old software was lacking in DMS capabilities by trying to be all things, so the downside actually ended up being an upside for us. **Recommendations to others considering Financial Cents:** Realize that no one package can be all things to all people. "Total" management packages are typically lacking in each one of their areas: CRM, project and task management, DMS. We have actually improved our processes by breaking up CRM/ project& task management away from DMS. Now, with a dedicated DMS/permanent portal product we have enough features we were able to get rid of another piece of software. **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lack of collaboration with team members was a frustrating problem. - I didn't want to use Teams, my experience with it has not been good. With the "chat" style comments and notes being at the project level or at the task level and notifications of call-out(s), it all becomes very organized for us. Client and project info (email, text) converted into notes to attach to a client, project or task has been a godsend i this software. We had the ability to send notes to projects in our last software, but if you didn't know that it was there (say another individual working on the project) you would never see it. Requests for client information was not an automated procedure for us and involved several steps which inherently enticed the client to attach sensitive information to the emailed request and return. We would then have to reject the email pursuant to our security policy. This is a very automated request - to portal upload procedure. Our workflows were not even being utilized in our prior software as they were too convoluted and contributed to the noise. Triggering events didn't work properly and with the dashboard being too noisy, no one paid attention to alerts. Resolved with the notifications and better abilities to filter down on dashboard views. ### 22. There are changes that will make it more helpful but nothing major. I'd love to see clients be an editable field for time entries but that's really it. You won't regret adding this to your practice. All of that translates into the excellent customer service with strive for every day with our clients. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** We do a lot of copying a pasting when trying to capture conversations with a client when that client owns several entities or has several partners. We also really need for the application to run reports in a more robust manner. **Recommendations to others considering Financial Cents:** Financial Cents is a great workflow tracking application at a very reasonable cost so it is great as a practice management tool. It is a fairly young application so they are still developing the product which is actually a good thing. This is the first project management software I have found that is affordable and doesn't require a PHD in Computer Science to figure out how to use it. It is super easy to use and no need to constantly refer back to demos or instructions. My employee was able to figure out how to use it with zero help from me. 2. Clients can add tax docs to their file instead of sending me multiple emails. This saves me time and also means I won't accidently miss something. 3. From the dashboard I can easily see where we stand on projects and what my employee is up to. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** The only real "complaint" I have is that it does not integrate with QuickBooks Desktop. I am not a fan of QuickBooks Online. **What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1. All of our work is one place instead of multiple spreadsheets I only had access to. 2. Know the status of every project we have without having to ask or look in multiple places. 3. In the past the workload sometimes became too much to handle via spreadsheets, e-mails, and calendars. It also helps me determine what needs to be done next with due dates (so I am less reactive and more productive!). But mostly it "holds my brain". Especially this year with crazy everywhere I was able to keep track of what was going on with more than 250 clients and not rely on my memory. I wasn't as frazzled, I worked on the right things at the right times, I had notes at my fingertips about important conversations, and I knew where all my projects stood and what was next on each one from this one amazing platform. **What do you dislike about Financial Cents?** I haven't yet used the time and billing because I work off of Quickbooks Desktop and have time integrated through T Sheets.... but I may make the shift to QBO so I can use the time and billing from here. I still need to explore that and not being fully "in love with QBO" I am not sure I want to make that leap - but Financial Cents does so much for me that it might be worth it! **Recommendations to others considering Financial Cents:** Just do it.... amazing platform and incredible customer support. For instance, the recurring project workflow currently doe not allow for tasks that do not occur every cycle of the project.
