## Final Cut Pro X Reviews
  ### 1. An Editor That Offers Infinite Potential And A Time-Saving Editing Workflow Without A Subscription

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent H. | Audio / Video Engineer, E-Learning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The biggest upside to using Final Cut Pro X as my video editor is that, unlike other editing programs that are subscription-based, you can buy Final Cut Pro for a one-time price. On top of that, it’s reasonably priced and affordable for just about anyone who needs a reliable non-linear editor.

When I edit, I like to keep all my files organized by type (i.e., video, audio, SFX, timelines), and Final Cut is great for streamlining that workflow. Each project starts with its own “Library,” which acts as the master file that holds everything. From there, you can create specific “Events” within the “Library” to separate and manage each type of media you’re working with.

Final Cut also offers “Background Rendering,” which is a huge time-saver. You don’t have to stop and wait for a render bar to finish before you can preview your effects—FCP renders in the background while you keep working.

Finally, Multicam Editing is extremely convenient because you can sync multiple clips and switch to the angle you want simply by clicking the shot in the Multicam viewer.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The biggest drawback to Final Cut Pro, in my opinion, is its limited availability. Since it’s exclusive to Apple, there’s no official Windows version, so unless you’re a Mac user, you’re essentially shut out from using Final Cut as your video editor.

If you already know the basics of non-linear editing, it’s fairly easy to get up to speed with the primary functions. That said, once I move into more advanced features—especially keyframing—I feel like I have more control in other editing software.

I’ve been using Final Cut Pro for nearly 20 years, and I still run into issues with color correction and color grading. Even though there are several ways to approach it, I struggle to get my clips to match evenly, and I often end up spending more time than I should trying to refine the color across my projects.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you’re a small business working with a limited budget, Final Cut Pro can be a better video editing option because it lets you avoid the subscription-based model that many companies use.

The Multicam & Audio Sync feature is a huge time-saver, and it helps you find the best angles to use in real time while you edit.

When it comes time to export, Final Cut gives you multiple options depending on how you plan to use your video. You can export directly from Final Cut, or, if you’re using it in conjunction with Compressor, you can export your video there and customize the specific settings you need.

Whether you need a full-resolution, uncompressed video or just a clip you want to showcase on a social media platform, Final Cut Pro makes it extremely easy to choose the type of file you want to render.

  ### 2. High-Performance Video Editing for Mac Developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nabin P. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I like Final Cut Pro X for its speed and stability, made possible by Apple-optimized performance, the magnetic timeline, background rendering, and seamless Motion integration, all of which contribute to precise and efficient video workflows. I also appreciate how easy the initial setup was, with straightforward installation and fast library syncing, and how quickly our team adapted to the magnetic timeline with minimal learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I find the limited cross-platform support, weaker built-in audio tools, and fewer advanced collaboration features to be drawbacks, especially for large, multi-editor or mixed-OS production teams. Additionally, lacking native multi-user collaboration and more flexible plugin support could enhance productivity for complex projects.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Final Cut Pro X for fast video editing by solving slow rendering, complex timelines, and inefficient workflows, thanks to optimized media, a magnetic timeline, and hardware acceleration, making video production faster and more reliable.

  ### 3. Simple Interface, Strong Apple Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I really like the simple interface and features of Final Cut Pro X. The integration into the Apple ecosystem is particularly useful, as it allows me to have familiar processes at work and the ability to create animations or similar directly through other Apple tools. The filters and plugins are also helpful and save time. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

File export could be more intuitive. The file export for social media formats could be easier.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Final Cut Pro X to professionally edit and create videos for social media. The simple interface and integration into the Apple ecosystem make work processes familiar. Filters and plugins help and save time.

Magnetic timeline speeds up editing once mastered

Tons of built-in tools for color grading, stabilization, audio, etc.

Many advanced features (transitions, motion graphics) require plugins

Organization can get messy with larger projects unless you stay disciplined

Large file size with rendered files.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro X solves the problem of fast, high-quality video editing without needing a full post-production team.

For me at Cloud View Productions, it lets me handle everything—from cutting raw drone footage to polishing final videos for clients—all in one place. It saves me time with its smooth performance, magnetic timeline, and built-in tools like stabilization, color correction, and audio cleanup.

The biggest benefit? I can produce professional-grade videos quickly and efficiently, without sacrificing quality or needing to jump between multiple programs. It keeps my workflow tight and client deadlines on track.

  ### 5. Modern, Intuitive Editor with Magnetic Timeline - Needs good hardware

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriele G. | Designer, Manufacturing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The interface is very clean, modern, and more intuitive than other editors; this helps a lot in daily work. I particularly love the magnetic timeline which simplifies some steps during editing; the workflow is always smooth.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

It requires up-to-date hardware and good resource availability to work properly.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Final Cut Pro X I've created very complex video edits for production tutorials, with numerous timeline layers and overlays of text and subtitles. Everything worked perfectly.

  ### 6. My go to editing software - by a long shot

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ty P. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The magnetic timeline is such a gamechanger. I used to swear by other video editing programs; however, I now can't stand the thought of even needing to use them. Do yourself a favor if you own a Mac, and give FCPX a try. You'll never look back.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

There's really nothing that I dislike about the program itself, but there are many more community created templates and tools for other video editing programs. It's a bit more time consuming, though you can use Apple Motion to generate your own, then the tradeoff is templates as well as tools exactly the way you want them.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to zip through video editing projects with ease and comfort, like no other software has provided me in the past.

  ### 7. Final Cut Pro is fantastic!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Private Trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I have been using Final Cut Pro now for the past 5 years and love it.
Its a big step up from the free version (iMovie).
There are endless options for editing your videos and making amazing content

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The only downside of Final Cut Pro would be the learning curve. There is a lot to learn to become a sufficient video editor. But once you learn a a lot of the short cuts, it is great.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to make detailed and complex videos for my youtube channel that I couldn't manage with the free version (iMovie).

  ### 8. Best Video Editing Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro X is my go to software for all my video and audio editing needs. It is quite advanced. Yet with a background with Imovie software I was able to catch on. I'm still learning new features as new projects come up. It has all features you may need and plugins to add for additional cost for more advanced tools. The option is there and that's what makes it the best in my opinion.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Sometimes it is not easy to figure out how to use a particular feature and it may require searching for tutorials from external sources. Yet I believe this is the case with most softwares. It is a great software but can only be mastered by those who have an extensive experience and background in editing, photography and videography. The average person will struggle but it's not impossible to figure it out.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Changing the background. Cutting dead space. Captions. Reducing file size. Combining files. Creating professional clips.

  ### 12. Apple's CORE Editing Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc B. | Professional Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

FCPX's ability to handle all video types is fine. I expect other editors can say the same. However, having the Apple "edge" and ability to interact with all (my) Apple devices puts a familiarity and consistency to things. The features are vast and even though I make TV commercials, I've only scratched the surface of all the tools available. One can be come VERY productive the FCPX.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

My only complaint is even with two monitors my editing real estate is taxed. Sometimes my timeline has so many layers that I have no choice but to scroll up or down to get to something. I would prefer having it ALL visible at once.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It handles all my video production from SM ads, training videos, TV commercials, creative projects (short films, music videos).

  ### 13. Final Cut Pro- A Top Choice For Multi Media Professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I have been fortunate to use FCPX over the last fifteen years. It is a wonderful online editing tool that delivers each and every time!

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

There is nothing that I dislike about FCPX. It's interface and ease of use sets it apart easily from other video editing software.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FCPX significant simplifies the video editing process. It makes editing fun while encouraging creativity.

  ### 14. Easiest to use professional grade software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lavya P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

It is unbelievably simple to use. The shortcut keys like 'C' for the cut tool make everything so simple. Plethora of options to select from which are all infinitely customizable. You will not need to rely on any customer support as most of it is self-explanatory, but a few things might need Googling like knowing what the Keyer (green screen) effect is. Great options for simple sound editing, the precision editing is really a beast.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Expensive as the software and the hardware required are expensive. You will get tied down to the ecosystem. Compiling even just a 10-minute video can take a really long time. Competitors like DaVinci Resolve are pretty good as well and open source as well.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to create longer, more professional videos, say compiling a presentation video for an event.

  ### 15. The only editing software I'll ever use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Magali V. | Digital Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Quick workflow with every video editing feature I'll need.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Expensive to buy (but updates are free!)

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I edit all my videos, for all platforms on different aspect rations as well.

  ### 16. Best Video Software for Cutting Videos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy N. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Its so easy to cut clips and put them on the timeline. Most of the processes are straightforward and organization can be contained inside of your projects (Libraries).

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I don't like that there is little customization of the window layout, and my windows don't always stay the way I left them. I need to see audio meters and I have to open them every time. I'm sure there's a layout setting I can change to make a "custom" layout but I'd rather it just keep what I did last time.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

If you're looking to do quick cuts and easy corrections, Final Cut has everything built in. There are third party plug ins that you can get to do heavy graphics or you can round trip to another software. It doesn't do quite everything, but it is VERY efficient in what it does.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its super fast to cut and render videos, yet powerful enough to do professional work.

  ### 17. Super easy, yet powerful video editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt D. | Copywriter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I absolutely Final Cut Pro X, especially it's simplicity. I used iMovie recreationally for years, and when my marketing company asked if I knew how to do video editing for YouTube and social media, I said yes.

I figured I'd have a steep learning curve with Final Cut Pro, but it's extremely intuitive and similar to iMovie. I don't use every advanced feature, but when I need to, I can easily find a tutorial on YouTube.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Sometimes the text editor is weird when adding captions to videos, and occassionally, it'll crash if I'm doing to many edits - though that could definitely be due to my laptop. Overall, I'm very impressed with how easy Final Cut Pro X is to use.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to quickly edit videos, make short clips for social media with captions, and occassionally edit longer videos for YouTube.

I absolutely love how easy it is to save settings in Final Cut Pro. I have a bunch of saved fonts and colors, audio setting plugins, and export settings, which easily allow me to take any video, and have the output match all the other videos for brands I work with. Very easy and intuitive product.

  ### 18. FCPX is Fabulous!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** V K. | vCIO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I love the magnetic timeline!.. It took some getting used to initially; however, the speed of editing that comes with the quick adjustments that can be done makes this feature remarkable!

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

For me, the rendering that occurs in the background can be weighty on my system. I choose to disable the feature in order to have my system perform better with speed.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro X solves an array of business functions in-house for us. We use it to produce short-form and full-length videos for our logo and client logos. We can generate ideas immediately and bring them to fruition sooner because the entire suite is accessible for production.

  ### 19. My favorite option for professional video editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor Hugo P. | Director general, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The way that you can edit a video in the timeline so quickly, the speed with which you can use and edit the audio and even convert it to multi-channel audio (in a generic way, of course).

I love how quickly I can colorize the image using the program's tools or being able to use preset colors with third-party tools.

You can use the filters that come with the program or the animated titles it includes for quick work.

You can work with video in different resolutions, from 480p to 8K video, and in standard or HDR format (it is necessary to change the project to HDR to edit video in HDR).

Exporting the video is very easy. You can use the compressor program (from the same company) to fine-tune details for exporting a specific format for a particular streaming service.

It is, without a doubt, my favorite tool for video editing.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Sometimes the timeline is a bit slow when moving the clips (it crashes a few times, but it isn't enjoyable).

Arranging the audio at the beginning or end of a clip can be very tedious due to the small tool it has to do this function.

I feel that it needs a significant update to compete with other programs and to take advantage of the full potential of the new computers with the new M1 and M2 processors, don't get me wrong, the program works spectacularly on these machines. Still, I think an update would not hurt specified for these chips.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick editing for a company project (internal communication or tutorials) or for the creation of videos for social networks, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and WhatsApp stories.

  ### 20. Final Cut Pro X is great for amateurs and pros alike.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajat H. | DevOps engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

It has a lot of built-in features and stock sound bytes that one can freely use when making videos. There are numerous third-party extensions and plug-ins for enhancing the abilities of the video production software.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

It can sometimes be a bit complicated. The interface is not always so intuitive. It can take a very long time to render some videos and can be slow if your computer is not powerful enough. The application itself is a very large file size.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use FCPX for creating and sharing videos of my travels with my family and on YouTube. I find it to be a more complete solution than iMovie.

  ### 21. Amazing value for money, assuming you're a Mac user

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin C. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

FCPX can do pretty much everything you need in terms of video editing. The thing I like best is that we paid £200 back in 1825 (I can't find the precise date) and haven't been asked to pay more since, other than ~£45 for Motion.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

It's not the most intuitive software (but what pro-level NLE is?) and I hate the library bloat as it sucks in media, then makes proxies AND renders & so on.

It could work better with cloud systems - iCloud doesn't offer the terabyte levels of storage that you need for video work, and it doesn't always play particularly nicely with other enterprise cloud services like dropbox. We had one import issue which Apple blamed on the cloud service we were using, and constantly have to relink media when two users are working on one library.

It would also be good if there was a non-Mac version so we could off-shore bulk editing like you can with Premier Pro and more-so DaVinci Resolve.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it daily for video editing, both in-house and for clients. It allows us to relatively rapidly edit pretty much everything thrown our way. It's tight integration with Apple Silicon is really important with massively intensive tasks like 4k/8K+ editing.

  ### 22. Final Cut Pro X, a professional video editing software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan L. | Soutien scolaire en Histoire et HGGSP, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

What's great about Final Cut Pro X is its multitude of features. Absolutely everything is possible, whether it's quick and easy editing or more advanced and professional-level editing.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

What can be somewhat confusing at first is precisely the multitude of features in Final Cut Pro X. Sometimes, it can be a bit challenging to accomplish tasks that may seem simple at first glance. However, it is precisely this power that contributes to this situation, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro X solves the challenges of professional video editing by providing an intuitive interface, powerful color correction tools, a wide range of visual effects and transitions, and seamless integration with other Apple software. This benefits users by enabling them to efficiently and creatively create high-quality video edits.

I work in media outreach for a school. When I use Final Cut, I use it for its added capabilities over iMovie. Sometimes I need to utilize custom templates and graphics.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Project files took up way too much space. Also, I would run into processing issues constantly let's say the video title said "Johnny." it would be correct in editing but after exporting the movie it would just say "J".

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a complete solution allowing me to edit videos in high definition. I work in media outreach for a school. Final cut helped me make videos for graduation and weekly broadcasts.

  ### 25. Been using FCP since 1999!

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I love the simplicity of the structure of FCP and robust editing. I also appreciate the audio editing, which makes my interviews sound awesome by removing extraneous sounds.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

That clips become attached to each other in the timeline, which makes re-editing a little more cumbersome. I would appreciate separate tracks like in version 7.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I provide content for small businesses on social media. I often use my iPhone to capture video content and then airdrop it to my Macbook. Everything works seamlessly.

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

it has a simple user-interface, the export time is pretty less when compared to premiere pro or other nle and combining with a m1 macbook pro, the export feels like air

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

few of the features are lacking in final cut pro when compared to premiere pro and davinci resolve which limits you to reach your true editing potential, especially working on a project that requires vfx

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I always had export issues with premiere pro because it used to take a lot of time to render and client needs videos immediately, so for that purpose, final cut pro solves my problem because I use mac

  ### 30. Final Cut Pro Streamlines Video Editing for Industry Professionals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clinton O. | Content Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro X has perhaps the most streamlined interface of any major video editing software. Having recently taken on more video editing responsibilities in my job and only having some light experience in Adobe Premiere, I can confidently recommend Final Cut Pro X as the go-to editing program for both newcomers and seasoned professionals in video production. The non-linear, non-destructive editing format ensures that any edits you make do not modify original footage in any way, which is great for newcomers learning the ropes, who are more likely to make mistakes.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The most challenging thing about using Final Cut Pro X is getting acclimated to the considerable number of keyboard shortcuts, which are paramount if you want to become a fast and efficient editor. Truth be told, editing can be slow going when you initially use Final Cut Pro X, at least before you are familiar with the various hotkeys. Within one to two months, however, editing becomes a breeze, as the keyboard shortcuts can largely be used to control all aspects of an edit, from trimming clips and zooming into a timeline to toggling between different tools, such as the range selection or blade.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro X is helping us edit cinema-quality videos for business clients with a fast turnaround. Many of the projects we work on involve multiple videos, including some monthly video series. All told, it can be a lot to manage, which is where Final Cut Pro X comes in handy. Thanks to the speed and efficiency that Final Cut Pro X provides, we can work on multiple edits at once and even cross-collaborate between team members, using XML exports to pass rough cuts for color grading, for example.

  ### 31. Smooth and quick, or elaborate and detailed- it can be anything you want or need for video

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I love that Final Cut Pro is intuitive and simple to quickly get a project done, but the advanced features are also there if you need them, or when you have time to learn about them.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro X needs and uses a lot of disk space - there are techniques to manage this, but often I find people learn the hard way. I wish that the software was more clear about this issue.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro X allows me to quickly create impressive video material for websites and internal projects that seem more impressive than they should be, given my abilities. After a small learning curve, you can quickly get an idea and express it using video and motion. I use a lot of video with interactive sites and import it to the VEV platform, and it works well.

  ### 32. Mean software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parth C. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

If you use a mac, the final cut pro is your answer to video editing . It is one of the best easy-to-use, fast option-oriented video editor software. Its user interface is easy to understand and use.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

When files are long and heavy there is a certain lag in the product and software tends to be a bit slow, in short, rendering time is almost infinity. The company should launch this product for windows also and rather not just for Mac computers

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final cut pro helps me create desired content for my client's Facebook, and YouTube Instagram channels. I like it as the whole process of creating videos is easy.

  ### 33. Best Video Editing Experience on MacOS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shiv Shikhar S. | Tech Blogger, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro X is the best video editing software available in the Mac environment.
It is fast, stable and easy to use.
It provides almost every professional tool for video editing.
Also, there is a large library of professional video effects, transitions, and audio effects.
However, competitors like Adobe's Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve are there but, the optimization of FCPx beats every competition.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

For some specific results we need to install 3rd Party Plugins and effects. Also, it is available for Mac Ecosystem. If a user on a windows ecosystem wants to use fcp, he/she just cannot. The cost of a Mac Ecosystem is very high in the first place and FCPX also has a nice price tag, so people with good money can only use FCPx.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Take tutorials and start editing as early as possible.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team uses FCPx for video editing On Macs. It is so stable and optimized, that it is very hard to leave FCPx and shift to other video editing software. Also, i personally use it to edit my Instagram reels, Youtube shorts and other videos.

  ### 34. Church Producer and Hobbyist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric B. | CEO/Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Integration with Compressor for creating finished assets. Non linear editing timeline with both video and sound assets connected. Ability to create synchronized clips of multiple sources to create an easy workflow for mixing sources when not using the wonderful Multicam editor. Easy consumption of assets like AVCHD, MP4, M4V, ProRes, ProRes RAW for video and AIFF, CAF, WAV, MP3 and more for audio. Exporting options to create master files or specific targets like Apple TV, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. allows you to focus on the creative editing and not have to worry so much about output configurations. Although I don't use it as much, Motion X's integrate is a plus for those requiring more effects. Being able to extend the editing process with plug-ins and packages for purchase through companies like FxFactory. My general workflow for audio includes Amadeus Pro for initial normalizing, trimming, and ensuring proper sampling rates. Then if there is repair needed for things like sirens, coughing, etc. I will load into iZoptop RX for repairs. From their, into Logic Pro X for production separating audio pieces into separate channels, organ, piano, instruments so they can have different effects and filters applied to them like EQ, Compressors, etc. Plugins to Logic Pro X from Accusonus and iZotope are added to cleanup audio things like mouth clicks, breath control, and so forth. The audio is then bounced and synced with HD and/or 4K video sources where things like subtitles, titles, graphic assets are applied. Sometimes music overlaid on the screen while accompanied by the piano or organ.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I miss some of the features from Final Cut 7 which made full lanes of tracks for video and audio which could then be produced or exported for tweaking in 3rd party apps. It would really be nice to be able to "Send" an asset to a 3rd party app (or multiple apps) for editing. For example, a sound asset sent to Logic Pro X, Izotope where just a plugin doesn't do enough. Things like sound repair to remove distractions could be easier. It would be nice if there was a "burn in" option for subtitles so that didn't have to be done after the masters are converted to their final formats.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

A leap forward from the capabilities of iMovie if you were using the free app coming with Macs for years. If you want to do more extensive editing and combining of assets without limitations, Final Cut is a big step up. If you have spent time with Adobe Premier or Davinci Resolve you will find Davinci has better sound editing within the application, but updates seem a bit more confusing. Premier has tighter integration with the Adobe suite like Audition, Photoshop, etc. However, you can still use those programs with Final Cut Pro X if you desire.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording church services, weddings, and concerts with video from one or more sources, audio recorded from a soundboard is probably the most frequent usage. I also convert VHS, Beta, 8mm, and Super 8 tapes so it becomes the hub for those projects too.

  ### 35. Pro software for video editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen B. | Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The Final Cut Pro workspace is neat and conducive to video editing seamlessly. The major editing tools appear on the screen and are at our disposal to use smoothly. We can import files by dropping them into our project. The clip timeline is one of the best things I like about the Final Cut Pro. I feel that the Final Cut Pro timeline smartly adapts to the edits we make when we resize clips, slice them, and move them around.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The worst thing I can think of about Final Cut Pro is its high price. I think it's an excellent value for video editors, but it is much higher priced than a fair amount of video editing software out now.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro allows me to focus more on my editing because I feel all the tools and other items are easy to access. I don't have to confuse myself with finding things and accessing them right when I need them. I can think about the edits I want to make and just make them. They have settings for almost everything I need to adjust whatever I want, so I can customize videos greatly with this one application alone.

  ### 36. Final Cut Pro X superior

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim E. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

The newest layout and design of the software and user interface have made this software very easy to navigate and use. Also, when introducing a new designer or editor to the software, it is much easier to train them on the different uses of FC. They have done a great job in ensuring that there are plenty of options available for even the most minor tasks that make the editing process much more manageable. There are also many websites out there now that will have templates or addons for FC that you can purchase for a minimal cost and download straight into the base files and keep forever.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The one drawback I have with the newer updated software as opposed to the older versions of Final Cut is the finished edited videos are larger file sizes. Even though you can use the builtin Compressor software through their compressor software, there are still times when the file size is much larger than that of the same edited video on the older software.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has given us a software that we can use for editing that can have many templates and dropbox items added to the software for a fairly inexpensive option. They have opened the doors to many developers that can work with their software in creating different editable items that can be imported straight into the software and saved for later uses.

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Easy to do professional stuff with videos

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

It's a little bit expensive and the community is less actifve than in other platforms

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

It worth the price without any doubt, a perfect solution for video

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Perfectly integrated with my music and media libraries, with Motion and Compressor, simplifacting the process

  ### 38. No Reason to use any other editing platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that the program renders everything in the background. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that when I go to export, I don't have to wait 500 years (are you listening Adobe Premiere) for the file to render and export. I REALLY LOVE that it is super super simple to do mulitcam editing.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I wish they had better pre-installed VFX software. The color corrector could be way better. I think FCPX needs to step it up and create something that is completely integrated with VFX, Keying, Sound, Etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Make sure that you have the proper add-ons or plugins to complement what you are doing in Final Cut Pro X.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video editing is the bulk of the work i do for my business. The ability to create library templates in FCPX has allowed me to spend less actual time in the editing process and more time making $$$

  ### 39. Best Video Editing Software Used by Professionals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rani V. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro is industry-quality software. It has plenty of custom features to jazz up any type of video (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok). There a tons of free plugins online available that I use for transitions and special effects. While other editing software oversimplifies video editing, with the intention to make it more user-friendly, Final Cut feels navigable but advanced enough so I can achieve whatever I set my mind to.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

The structure and organization of the software is confusing. I have found various incomplete video projects all over my computer and still struggle to consolidate all relevant files, projects, and media into one consistent place. I wish it were easier to package up finished projects and start new ones.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro helps me create high quality custom videos unlike any other app or software. I have ultimate creative control over my content. As a result, I produce YouTube videos, TikTok videos, and Instagram Reels for clients that stand out in the pool of mundane media.

  ### 40. My favorite video editing software....if you got a Mac

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin V. | FEMA Housing Program Inspector (REDI Team), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

As someone that's been doing video editing since the 90's, with AVID originally. I remember the first time I could have Final Cut Pro on my own personal computer at home. Mind blowing! It was truly inovative. FCP is definitely the easiest of the professional packages, to use. But even if you're just a home podcast/YouTuber, its the package you should get if you own a Apple Mac computer. Everything you need is integrated into this one package, and its very beginner friendly, if you choose to not use the advanced features.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

It is only available on Mac OS....so if you're working with someone that is on Windows, its not going to be a seamless collaboration. Also some of the VFX can be a bit memory/drive intensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Apple has amazing support, even if you don't pay for Apple Care. Final Cut Pro X is the industry standard if you work in film production, so I would recommend having it in your set of tools for your studio.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Final Cut Pro for all my video editing needs. We've created lots of national advertisements for TV, as well as smaller online web series. It doesn't matter what you are working on, because its so easy to use. Also, even though its not an Adobe product, it integrates well with programs like Photoshop and After Effects (if you need more advanced graphic animation and effects).

  ### 41. I can edit how I want with Final Cut Pro

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve P. | Senior Video Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro has tools to manage all angles of my video editing needs and workflow. The standard effects are enough for me to create half of my business videos from start to completion. Final Cut Pro works with many video and audio files types. I can render files to high-resolution video with little to no noticeable video noise.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro only works on Mac. It's a big application in terms of file size, so it can run slowly if the computer's specs aren't advanced enough to handle it.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Final Cut Pro provides video editing features that help me to create edits that are refined and precise. Using Final Cut Pro wasn't that difficult for me from the start since it's similar to other video editing programs I used. I can make edits smoothly and access features with hotkeys and other quick-access tools.

  ### 42. Love the one time cost model

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa U. | Dog Trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I love that it's not a monthly subscription, which is the main reason I chose Final Cut over Premiere Pro. For what I do (YouTube) it is more than enough to edit my videos. I love that I can get 3rd party animations so do not have to make custom animations myself. If you're transitioning from IMovie, it is pretty simple to learn and intuitive. of course, if you're trying to get into more complicated editing, you will have to watch a few tutorials.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I dislike how much you have to pay upfront. I wish that Apple offered a Payment Plan for those who maybe do not have $300 or so dollar to spend all at once. I also wish that they had a free online course to show you some of the more complicated editing you can do within Final Cut Pro since a lot of non-professionals use this app for social media marketing. That being said, there are a ton of YouTube tutorials, so it's still something you can figure out. Overall I'm very happy with final cut pro.

The one caveat is that you're stuck using Mac if you want to keep using final cut pro X. The app only works on Mac, which is why they probably allow the one-time fee. That being said, I do not see myself ever moving away from Mac Products, so that was OK; however, it's annoying that if you paid for it, you won't be able to use it on a PC if you ever do decide to switch over.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Make sure you do some tutorials on the shortcuts that Final Cut offers - even if you feel like you are able to figure out the app yourself, the shortcuts save a TON of time, and by watching a few quick videos you'll learn how to make the most of your editing time.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to do high-quality video edits for my Youtube channel. I also love that I can easily resize to make the same video the correct dimensions for TikTok and other social media applications.

  ### 43. It's the smoothest in editing big files

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishav G. | News Reporter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Simple to edit compared to other softwares. The function in this software is easy and handy. Color grading and chroma editing is easy and smooth.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

At times the render process becomes slow. At times the software take time to open.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

It's the easiest and smooth to use. Time saver for video editors.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly the chroma editing. It's less time consuming than other softwares. I'm saving time. The time saved can be used to edit more videos. As in the media field lots of video has to be edited in a single day.

  ### 44. The possibilities are endless!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gina M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Final Cut Pro X has opened up a whole new world of editing possibilities that considers every possible scenario. There are lots of very concise tutorials out there to explain its many features and so using the program will not be a mystery. Starting from no knowledge at all, I was able to edit a multi-camera shoot and assemble a 60-minute program by simply "Googling" what I wanted to do. If you are a Mac user, the interface is entirely intuitive, and better yet, if you've used iMovie, you're off to a good start in using the program immediately without a lot of information ramp-up. Having said that, it's a highly complex program, and truly mastering it will take a while. However, it's an exciting challenge and will ultimately provide the ability to make truly remarkable videos. I've been pleasantly surprised how FCPX integrates with Motion and Compressor, as well as Logic. The entire suite appears to make it capable of editing a feature film or any other professional production. Although an amateur could learn it and use it, it is a program from professionals.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

Paradoxically, its complexity can sometimes be so deep as to be very daunting. There are so many features that full utilization will take some time. As mentioned, it's a challenge; however, it's very easy to opt for a simple solution to issues because a more straightforward solution would be harder to master.

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Do the free tutorials on either YouTube, or LinkedIn Learning.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used iMovie for years and was hitting a wall when I wanted to do something beyond its scope. So my projects had to be somewhat simple. Now that I have learned many of its capabilities, I am excited to be more creative and fully express the full range of my ideas. Several of the instructional videos that I viewed clued me into some fantastic features that I had no idea that I could do, and I immediately expanded the creative scope of my project.

  ### 45. Easy and versatile video-making

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karoline R. | Director or Media/Communications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Love that you can just drop down the video segments you need. Very easy to upload to vimeo, or other platform. Like the variety of transitions, fonts and sound effects and how easy it is to change those things to suit your project. I like that you can rotate the image a bit in case your shot wasn't level. Like the layout and how easy it is to find everything you need.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I wish I didn't have to delete the transitions before shortening or lengthening my clips, then adding the transitions back. Also, sometimes I try to pull a segment from the video I need but have to pull down the entire thing instead.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making the videos for our church. The last software we used was clunky and hard to navigate. This is much more streamlined with many more options and more flexibility and can be done with less time and effort.

  ### 46. FCP X is wonderful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

I think that FCP X has a very user-friendly interface, and I found the program to be very intuitive. It provides all of the tools needed in a professional video editing application and it being an apple product it integrates seamlessly into my workstation.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I dislike that when trying to spread my FCP X session across multiple displays, you have to choose from the few pre-determined layouts that are provided. When working with similar programs, you can simply drag a window to whichever display you would like. With FCP X you have to choose which display a window is displayed from a dropdown.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FCP X solves the problem of needing a centralized workstation to sort through and edit together videos from multiple sources. It provides all of the tools necessary for both visual and audio edits and then provides a way to share those edits in any variation required.

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

With Final Cut Pro, moving from one editing software can be a huge learning curve. It is not as intutive as others but once you learn it, you can make stunning edits to your videos

**Recommendations to others considering Final Cut Pro X:**

Final Cut Pro X is a next level for video editing. There are a lot of tutorial out there to help you get started to master editing videos.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Final Cut Pro X?**

Having done a lot of editing on iMovie made transitioning to Final Cut Pro X simple. A few online tutorials and a little help from a few friends who have been using it for years are all it took to create some higher-level video content for both professional use and personal use (YouTube Channel). Ease of learning, along with many supported 3rd party plugins, make me look like I know what I am doing!

**What do you dislike about Final Cut Pro X?**

I do wish that some of the more advanced options were easier to access or learn. I know I can look up how to do some of the more advanced tools, but I am ok with the level I am at until I need to learn more.

**What problems is Final Cut Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to create some ok content for training videos along with personal videos for our YouTube channel. Still, I wanted to make more visually appealing content that required multiple layers and better audio editing. Final Cut Pro X has given me a way to do just that without a high learning curve.
