How would you rate your experience with Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Cloudflare provides an immediate improvement in both speed and security. The CDN and caching features noticeably accelerate my WordPress website, which is particularly beneficial for mobile visitors. I also appreciate how effortlessly it manages SSL certificates, DDoS protection, and the Web Application Firewall (WAF), all accessible through a single, intuitive dashboard. It does a great job controlling bot traffic and LLM scraping, and the analytics panel offers comprehensive insights that help me monitor performance enhancements as they happen. The learning curve is steep for beginners, and bot protection can trigger CAPTCHA for legitimate users. Support on lower tiers is limited with slow response times. Configuring advanced firewall rules and page rules can be overwhelming without proper documentation or guidance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudflare makes it incredibly easy to improve both performance and security with minimal setup effort. The WAF rules, bot protection, and DDoS mitigation are reliable and rarely need manual tuning. I also appreciate the built-in CDN and caching features — they noticeably reduce latency and make site delivery smoother. The analytics dashboard is clear and real-time visibility is great for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some advanced configuration options (especially for workers and edge rules) can be confusing at first, and documentation sometimes assumes you’re already technical. Pricing for higher-tier security and traffic limits can escalate quickly if your usage grows suddenly. Apart from that, the platform has been stable overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudflare has been a great addition to the digital ecosystem. Our website loads noticeably faster, and we’ve had zero downtime since enabling their security suite. The firewall and DDoS protection give real peace of mind, especially with so many users accessing our research data globally. The analytics dashboard is clear and helpful, and support responds quickly whenever we need assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the configuration steps—especially around DNS and firewall rules—required extra time and support tickets. Once running, it works smoothly, but it would be great if Cloudflare offered a simpler onboarding process or more localized documentation for non-technical users. I have been using Cloudflare for my website for some time now, primarily to enhance application security and performance. It has truly made a significant difference—my pages load much faster than before, attacks are blocked automatically, and I have hardly needed to adjust any settings since the initial setup. The Web Application Firewall and DDoS protection are excellent, and the noticeable improvement in page load times is thanks to the CDN. The dashboard is also straightforward and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only drawback is that some of the better features are restricted to the advanced plan. Additionally, implementing caching can be challenging for certain dynamic websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate the service's ability to serve static content extremely fast, making it one of the fastest globally in my experience, with latency of less than 20 milliseconds from any location. This incredibly low latency is difficult to replicate without Cloudflare Application Security and Performance's extensive infrastructure. The security features are impressive as well; using their DNS effectively shields my origin, providing peace of mind and protecting sensitive data. One of the features I particularly value is the Turnstile, which excels at keeping bots away efficiently. The service allows me to deliver content at the edge with minimal latency, which would otherwise require a significant capital expenditure to achieve alone. Additionally, the initial setup of Cloudflare Application Security and Performance is straightforward and hassle-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the vendor lock-in with Cloudflare Application Security and Performance, specifically the inability to use their services without transferring nameservers to them. This also includes not allowing vanity name servers or glue records. Such requirements could be more flexible to accommodate businesses' varying needs, as not every business may want to hand over custody of certain aspects to a third party. I find Cloudflare Application Security and Performance to be an incredibly robust solution for any organization seeking both protection and speed. I appreciate its all-in-one approach that combines strong security features like Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS mitigation, and bot management, ensuring that our applications remain secure from various threats. The Zero Trust framework is a standout feature, providing an extra layer of access control without the dependency on traditional VPN solutions. Additionally, I admire how Cloudflare's Content Delivery Network (CDN) significantly accelerates content delivery through components such as load balancing and image optimization, which greatly enhances the user experience. I am particularly impressed with the edge computing capabilities, allowing developers to run code closer to users and thereby reducing latency, merging performance optimization with security without adding complexity. I find the price for the enterprise version of Cloudflare Application Security and Performance quite high, which can be a significant factor for organizations considering this solution. Additionally, I am disappointed that real-time logs retrieval requires reliance on third-party tools, which adds complexity and potential extra costs for integration. Cloudflare offers a seamless blend of security and performance enhancement features. The WAF (Web Application Firewall) is constantly updated and highly customizable, offering excellent protection against OWASP threats. Their DDoS mitigation is also fast and effective, even during peak traffic spikes. I especially appreciate the ease of DNS management and the intuitive dashboard, which makes it accessible even for less technical users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the core features are solid, some advanced settings (like custom firewall rules and bot management) can feel overwhelming without proper documentation or support. The free plan is limited for more complex needs, and support response time on lower tiers can be slow. Integration with some third-party tools also needs improvement. I love how straightforward the setup is—even for someone who's not a networking pro. Pointing my domain (urbanzi.in) to Cloudflare and configuring Cloudflared for tunneling was surprisingly fast. The dashboard is clean and helps me track traffic and threats easily. Security quietly works in the background, giving me peace of mind. DNS changes reflect almost instantly, which makes tweaks super efficient. Site performance also noticeably improved after moving to Cloudflare, with pages loading more quickly and a total lack of downtime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup of Cloudflared tunnels was a bit confusing, especially getting SSL certificates to work just right. There’s a learning curve for the detailed security settings and the tunnel configuration. But the documentation and user forums are helpful if you get stuck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
