**What do you like best about Cerner?**

One stop solution for complete archiving and management of electronic health records.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Too much emphasis on AI features: With the recent focus in AI heavy features, other much more useful but simple functional improvements seem to have taken a back seat.

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We offer free full body diagnostic tests to employees. Cerner EHR helped in archival and management of complete EHR records of all employees.

Cerner was user friendly after coaching and training sessions.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Cerner was complex at times. Cener was time consuming when dealing with patient registration. At times, Cerner was hard to navigate.

Cerner helped a great deal with customer service and patient care.

  ### 3. Great software for a mental health setting.

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Cerner?**

I liked that cerner was easy to use. Sections were labeled clearly which allowed me to find what I was looking for. I was also able to save things to make sure I was charting the correct material.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Sometimes the software was a little laggy.

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is keeping medical information in one place so professionals can read and check up on charts to get specifics into patients.

  ### 4. Cerner as a physician in training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed H. | Medical education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Cerner?**

The best part about Cerner was the ease of access to note writing tools, the simplicity of the user interface, and the elegant organization of lab values as well as easy access to Neuro imaging, which is heavily used as I am a neurologist in training.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

A lack of a feature such as care everywhere as seen in Epic, which was a huge game changer for us when we switched. However because of the simplicity and organization of not writing tools in Cerner, I actually really did miss Cerner when we switched over to a different EHR at our hospital.

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of note writing, access to daily lab values, able to view new changes in patient status, seamlessly using neuro imaging tools.

  ### 7. Good, but Could be better

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ka Ming L. | Food Services Supervisor/Diet Technician/Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Cerner?**

Everything is done electronically and records are kept.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Limitation of customization for non - management level usage.
Ideally there should only be one nutrition order ( any new order would override old orders). It would be helpful if users are able to filter out everything they don't need without having to submit a request to do this.
It would also be helpful if there is a report showing any transfer &/or patient discharges since the last time we refreshed the site

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all physicians orders and labworks electronically uploaded (instead of having a physical copy). Benefits: most up to date order / report is shown... And accessible by all different multidisciplinary health care team

  ### 8. Cerner user experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

Remotely used from home or anywhere from mobile

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Other additional social media related features should be added which possible

Health related practice features, remote access, patient management system etc.

**Reviewed by:** Julie P. | Remote Anesthesia Coder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Cerner?**

I don't really like anything about Cerner.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

Too many windows to go through to get to information. Have a hard time finding information I need, such as infusion times, orders, etc.

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked with Cerner a couple years ago and again recently. Nothing has changed.

  ### 10. Cerner Behavior Health (EHR) is below average for behavioral health systems

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanne J. | Electronic Health Record Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Cerner?**

Progress Noting functionality is highly configurable and can be attached to specific user templates and profiles. Individualized levels of security is also highly configurable with menu groups, user-specific access control, homepage templates, credentials, and other ways to control what a clinician/staff member can see and do.

**What do you dislike about Cerner?**

The billing module is very difficult for my organization to use as we work with a variety of both commercial and state PMAP/Medicare/Medical Assistance payors. We have to use a 3rd party clearing house and the Cerner product requires a lot of manual editing and managing of claims that might be rejected due to non-clinical reasons.

The reporting functionality on the older Cerner behavioral health product is not useful. We have seen a preview of the newer Millennium product, but even that does not allow as much configuration and ease of use as other behavioral health EHR products. Currently, in order to do clinical, billing, and operational reporting for our organization we have to use Microsoft Access databases that draw exported data (.csv files) from the Cerner product, but the reports have to be run and acted upon through Mircosoft products.

Additionally, the support from Cerner headquarters has been very poor. We have had an issue with promoting (a small upgrade with additional Cerner software) that is impacting some of our clinical documentation and communicated the importance of getting this fixed ASAP to Cerner. Their support has been spotty (some weeks we get phone calls and attention, then others we receive no communication for 3 weeks at a time). The issues has been going on 3 months and still we have no timeline from them about when we can get it fixed, even after our attempts to contact and get updates at least twice a week.

**Recommendations to others considering Cerner:**

Cerner is improving its behavioral health product, but it is still not at the same level of integrated functionality as other EHR products that focus only on behavioral health. If you are an organization that only does behavioral health I would not recommend using Cerner products. If you have both Medical and Mental health, then it might be better since Cerner's medical modules are more advanced.

**What problems is Cerner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cerner behavioral health is our EHR solution allowing us to incorporate clinical documentation, billing, and (to some extent) reporting on business operations. It allows for secure documenting of clinical notes, diagnostic and other assessments, management of client forms, billing information, behavioral health billing and insurance management, and clinical oversight.
