**What do you like best about Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce)?**

I find the content staging and scheduling capability of Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce) extremely useful for our operations. Being able to set up campaign changes in advance, preview them, and get client sign-off before anything goes live has significantly reduced our last-minute scrambling during promotional periods. The flexibility around catalog management is also commendable. The platform manages complex product structures well, which is important for handling a large number of SKUs with different attributes and pricing rules. Even though it's not the most intuitive initially, once the structure is correctly set up, it supports day-to-day operations effectively. On the content staging side, it helps reduce risk during high traffic periods by allowing us to build out promotional campaigns, have stakeholders review what will go live, and schedule it without manual intervention, making such periods less stressful. The catalog management feature is beneficial for scale as it provides a structured way to manage attributes, pricing rules, and content, saving time when dealing with numerous products across various categories.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce)?**

The developer dependency is the most frustrating part honestly. A lot of customizations that feel like they should be manageable through the admin panel end up requiring developer involvement, which slows things down and adds cost. For a team our size that is a real consideration because you cannot always have a developer on standby every time something needs adjusting. Performance and maintenance overhead is the other one. Keeping the platform running smoothly, managing extensions, handling updates without breaking existing customizations, it adds up to more ongoing effort than we anticipated when we first implemented it. There are moments where it feels like you are spending as much time maintaining the platform as you are actually using it, which is not a great position to be in operationally. On the developer dependency side, a more capable no-code or low-code layer for common customizations would make a meaningful difference. Things like adjusting checkout flows, modifying category page layouts or setting up specific pricing rules should not require a developer every time. On the maintenance side better extension compatibility management would help. Updates frequently require checking whether existing extensions still play nicely with the new version, and that process is more manual and unpredictable than it should be.

Adobe Commerce helps us align product content and campaigns better across teams, reducing inconsistencies. It improves workflow visibility, facilitates content staging, and supports scheduling, which eases campaign planning. What I liked most about Adobe Commerce formerly Magento Commerce is its flexibility and customization options. It allows easy customization of online stores based on business needs. Managing products, categories, and multiple payment options is also smooth and efficient. Ovverall, it is a scalable platform that works well for growing ecommerce businesses.

What I dislike about Adobe Commerce formerly Magento Commerce is that it can feel quite complex for beginners and requires technical knowledge for setup and customization. Sometimes managing updates and extensions also takes extra time and effort. It can be a bit resource-heavy, so smaller teams may find it challenging to handle without proper technical support.

When I started using Adobe Commerce Magento, I was initially guided by my sister, which helped me understand the basics of how the platform works. At that time, I found it useful for learning how online stores are structured and how products, categories, and orders are managed. It solves problems like managing complex ecommerce operations in one place, handling multiple products, and organizing store data efficiently. Earlier, it was difficult to understand how large online stores are managed, but this platform made it easier to learn and practice real world ecommerce workflows. The main benefit for me was gaining practical understanding of e-commerce systems and improving my skills in managing structured online store processes.

Adobe Commerce runs in the cloud, providing scalability and flexibility that on-premises solutions often struggle to match. This makes it easier to respond quickly to changing business needs and handle traffic spikes during peak periods, without the added complexity of managing physical infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce)?**

If you’ve got fewer than 100 products and you don’t have a huge inventory or a complex ecommerce setup, this feels like trying to drive an aircraft carrier across a pond. We were on Rackspace hosting for a few hundred dollars a month and still ran into caching and resource issues on a monthly basis. You’ll end up spending a lot of time either directing others or doing the caching, resource optimization, and cleanup yourself.

**What problems is Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

High Costs & Complex Maintenance: Adobe Magento Commerce comes with substantial upfront expenses and additional hidden costs. On top of that, frequent updates and ongoing technical maintenance often require expert support to manage properly.

Legacy Tech & Limited Flexibility: Magento still leans on an older, developer-heavy architecture, which can make it harder to adapt quickly. In my experience, this approach struggles to keep up with modern omnichannel needs and emerging IoT demands.

Support & Scalability Challenges: Magento’s support can feel slow, and the platform’s reliance on extensions may create friction as you try to scale. This can hold back growth, particularly when you compare it with more agile, all-in-one platforms like Core dna.

Extreme Flexibility & Customization like Unique checkout flows, custom product types, Tailored pricing logic
Also Modular Architecture is good that allow add/remove features without hindering anything
I think Integrations is also great with ERP, CRMs etc..
Multi store and local currency handling is good as well
and Of cource scalability point of view is really appreciated
Advanced B2B Features like company account with role based handling
Ownership and control is easy that can control hosting with own data

I think It requires experienced Magento developers that will not be cheap
also ongoing costs like security patches, upgrades etc..

Little Complex architecture (dependency injection, modules, etc.)
Not beginner-friendly for merchants or developers
Even simple changes may require technical expertise

If it is not optimized then Performance Issues
I think we should also focus on Expensive Licensing
It looks highly expensive
so overall these are areas we can focus

1. One of the major things I like about Magento is, we can do the customization easily as per our client requests, that I find difficult in other platforms.
2. Magento has so many extensions/addons available that we can use for our implementations.
3. Magento has different types of product options, with the help of that we can achieve different product configurations and handle store specific inventory.
4. We can implement headless architecture on top of Magento with the help of Magento OOTB APIs.
5. Following are some of the features I like: Order Management, Catalog Management, cart price rule, configurations.

1. Sometimes I feel Magento's performance is slow and a few features take more time to load. Magento has many features to use but we mostly don't use all features

Additionally, while the day-to-day management is intuitive for product marketing teams, navigating Adobe's enterprise support for highly technical, bespoke troubleshooting can sometimes feel slow. The onboarding process and documentation could definitely benefit from more streamlined, guided frameworks to help internal teams get up to speed faster without leaning so heavily on IT and technical architects.

As a retail departmental store, it helps us efficiently manage a wide range of products, categories, and customer demands. Its flexibility also allows us to customize promotions, pricing, and shopping experiences. We moved some of our work to Adobe Commerce for better scalability, customization, and support for more complex retail operations, which I appreciate.
