I love that I can communicate with my staff.  I especially like the layout!  I think that the weather plays a HUGE factor on customer flow and 7shifts provides this.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

You state that "copying shifts is a breeze" but it is not.  I pull a shift from one employee to another easily, but coping I have been unable to do?

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that you want the feedback of the people using your product!  This means you genuinely care about our productivity.

Very intuitive for training managers and new hires. Love that is sincs with the POS system.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Depending on your notification setup it can be very overwhelming how many messages you as the manager can receive.

By letting 7shifts integrate with our POS system it has changed things alot.

Time off request responses is not realistic. And the ability to break out FOH vs. BOH labor. And the labor $$ for a specific time frame

On the phone it's lagging a lot, need to restart the app every time to see proper dates, names etc. maybe perform some maintenance on app to prevent this from happening

It is very easy to navigate, and user-friendly for the staff.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

the browser isn't the same as the app. you can't tell if someone has already taken off when requesting like the browser.

**Recommendations to others considering 7shifts:**

If you want to integrate with Toast, I do not recommend it. However, as a scheduling app, great.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They told me it wasn't on their radar to have the app match the browser. I just wish for time off, it could say how many people already asked off.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

I enjoy the communication part as well as pre-shift alerts. We have our integrated with Toast, so I can compare Schedules to Actual Labor as well.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

It can be clunky on the app. I'd love to be able to print out daily rosters for my managers that are easy to read and broken out into departments.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

7shifts is helping to manage overtime, account for Time off requests and keep them organized. It's been a solid addition to our program here.

Sometimes copying schedules can be a little cumbersome, I also wish time off could be entered from the scheduling page.

We are able to keep a steady/daily pulse on labor costs which has been crucial!

Excel sheet to this, well worth it!  Integrates into Toast, and other POS.   Creating labor budgets and ease of coveraging shifts is great.  My employees also love it.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

It does not integragte into FoodTec POS.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time it takes to schedule, manage people, fielding calls.  I defer all scheduling needs wants and requests to the app.  It's very good and serves its pupropose.

There is no undo feature with setting a persons time.

We primarily use for scheduling and it works very well.  There are great tools to integrate if you want labor cost, time cards, etc...

Some wonkiness with the mobile app vs using a computer.

If you can consolidate clocking, POS and scheduling - this is a beast

Scheduling 3 teams in different locations and around 200 people in a consolidated format.

Sometimes the website crashes, the app is always working great.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

My favorite part about 7shifts is having scheduling and time clock in one place.  You can decide parameters with which time clock is automatically approved or not. This makes payroll go so much quicker.  There are also helpful reports, such as Variance Report to see why employee's time clocks may be off from schedule.  There are many features on the scheduling side that are helpful: desired hours tracker, total hours/labor projection per day, availability issue notifications, time off requests easily noticeable.  And employees can be organized in many ways, such as location, department, and role.  We absolutely love 7shifts!

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Reporting could possibly be a little more robust, but ultimately, we've been very pleased with the entire product, including reporting.

**Recommendations to others considering 7shifts:**

Just do it.  It's the best scheduling app out there.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling and Time Clock is a breeze.  Monitoring labor costs is easy.  We work with many part-time students, so scheduling can be difficult with difference availabilities each semester.  But 7shifts makes it all easy.

Feels like it lacks a lot of the additional resources that a lot of restaurant scheduling platforms have implemented (eg. on-site clocking in/out system). Moving from personal schedule to full staff schedule can be a bit tricky at times.

Good value and very user friendly. Just note that you will need to add additional software into your system to track employee shift work.

I like 7shifts because it is very convenient and useful. It lets me know my shifts for the week. I’m also able to give up my shift to everyone or someone specifically if I want my shift covered. I also like how you can update your availability and request time off. It also has a section that lets you know of all the employees that work at the restaurant. Navigating is very easy to do.

Honestly, there isn’t anything I dislike about it. It’s very helpful for me.

If you own a restaurant, I highly recommend you set this up for your employees. It is very helpful and useful.

I don't love that 7shifts has so many paywalls.  There are four levels for admins to select with a variety of features locked into those options.

We love that we can honor the staff by knowing that their availability, time off and schedules are well managed.  We can also communicate with them easily via their in-app messaging.  There are some labor management features that we don't really use but could if we find the need.

With 7Shifts, your schedule is easily accessible. You do not have to worry about not being at work to see your schedule or forgetting because it reminds you. Also, it allows people to bit their shifts if they have a situation coming up. I like the fact that it is accessible on mobile  so you don't have to necessarily be on a computer

I do not like the fact that it require internet at all time. It should be possible to access it without data to consult our schedule. Also, a reminder should be obliged the day you are working so you don't forget the exact time you are working.

Simple to use; being able to create schedule templates saves me time every week. The Manager's Log feature is also nice so that I don't have to have something separate for it. I can also send the report to my co-owners which is helpful. Enjoy that I can draft and publish the schedule from my phone when I'm on the run. When there is a change to the software I get a detailed email and usually a video as well. 

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

When doing the schedule from the app, I'm not able to see if someone has time off. Sometimes the app glitches and I get multiple notifications for the same 7Shifts post and other times I don't get the notification at all. You have to ensure that the roles in your POS match the roles in Touch Bistro so that it will properly track the labor. 

**Recommendations to others considering 7shifts:**

Simple and easy to use. Setup your integrations from the beginning to make life easier. I did the integration a year into the business and it would have been easier from the beginning. 

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to integrate 7Shifts with Touch Bistro is extremely helpful. I can view labor and sales in real time, see if an employee is going into overtime, etc. Being able to simply respond to an email to approve or deny a time off request, shift grab, etc. makes it extremely easy when I'm bouncing from our Taproom to the Brewery.

How easy the software is to use. I have saved so much time in scheduling because this product's goal is to save time and they nailed it.

There have been some glitches at times but I have noticed that support is always so responsive. The glitches were fixed and if there were any new features I thought should be added they always welcome the feedback and pass it along to the decision makers.

Do the trial! You have nothing to lose. They help you get everything transferred if you are using another system.

Time off for employees was an issue for us and with 7shifts it is much easier to keep track of who is taking what off and how much time they have taken this year so far.

The biggest benefit I have realized using 7shifts is the TIME I have saved! Using the templates, I am able to quickly drag and drop employees into shifts and automatically keep regular shifts by employees in place.

The ease at which the users have adapted.  We switched from excel to the 7shifts app with remarkable ease and acceptance.

I would really like it if there was more analytical information available, i.e. how often do staff open the app, who has elected for push notifications, how many people are utilizing the app to its fullest potential.

**Recommendations to others considering 7shifts:**

Do it!  Instead of dedicating hours each scheudle period to creating a schedule, 7Shifts allows multiple managers to input simultaneously and with better accuracy.  Cutting our overall scheduling time in half, maybe less!

It has allowed for better accountability and a live schedule that changes as needed.  In the past, on excel, those of us out of the outlets never know the changes or adaptations that were being made to the schedules after they were posted, now we do.  The staff have the onus on themselves to request time, with a proper time date stamp trail to follow.

Once you take the time to define your company, schedule creation is literally one click and perhaps a drag-and-drop tweak or two. 7Shifts manages employee availability, time off, shift switches, messaging - everything that used to require reams of paper, whiteboards, Post-It notes and a good memory. Employees have all of their schedule information available to them on the app, which is very intuitive and easy to use. 

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Nothing. 7Shifts fits my needs perfectly.

**Recommendations to others considering 7shifts:**

Initial setup took about six hours spread across three days, defining business parameters, entering the staff, defining staff roles, defining the shifts that need to be covered, developing rules regarding availability/time-off submission deadlines and shift switching. The mobile app is intuitive enough that your staff should have a short learning curve - I needed to do very little one-on-one training. Once setup was complete and the staff was familiar with the app, I ran three weekly schedules in parallel with the paper schedule, and then we switched over to 7Shifts completely.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of weekly availability, time-off requests, shift switches, and inter-staff communication requires a lot of paper and a good memory. Creating the schedule on paper is time-consuming and leaves room for human error. 7Shifts automated the entire process, and reduced the time I spend managing my weekly schedule from several hours to five minutes per week. I always know who is working, and the staff has their availability and schedule at their fingertips.

The ease of use and clear, colorful graphics. The format is user friendly. Options and drop down menus are listed at the top and sides, making it easy to find information. Additionally, the use of vivid, bright colors make this fun to work with. 

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Sometimes, tabs would be either changed around or deleted and I couldn't find options that used to be there previously. I don't know if this was a system issue or software issue, but it was frustrating and time-consuming.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling in a hotel can be difficult and 7 shifts restaurant scheduling made the task easier for employees to see scheduled shifts, shifts up for grabs (with co-workers phone numbers listed), shifts in a pool, and events coming up. Employees were able to handle switching shifts much easier and lighten the work load for management.

The fact that you can "offer up" shifts and add a comment is definitely the best part. It's a super convenient way to trade shifts without sending a bunch of messages or relying on the manager to find a replacement for you. It's also nice that you can see everyone/the whole schedule.

7 shifts only seems to be good for that one thing - scheduling and offering up shifts. It's a little annoying that we have to download two apps (slack and 7 shifts) to communicate and schedule. It would be amazing if they were combined into one. On the other hand, if you have a group message AND a scheduling app, although 7 shifts is great, it seems like you might as well just use google calendar

The ability to have people offer up their shift (with a reason/comment) is the biggest thing that comes to mind in terms of solving problems. It's super convenient

I really like we have to the reach of a finger all contacts of everyone that works in the restaurant. It's great to send messages to a specific colleague, to a group or to all staff. While we don't need to have the person phone information from everyone.

I don't like very much the interface of how the editing of the weeks are done. It's not so easy to use. I've tried before a few times to change specific dates and I had trouble with it.

The communication aspect with 7Shifts messaging has been the best part of our experience with 7Shifts! We're able to effectively communicate schedule changes, business updates and other pertinent business information across all channels (or just a few).

The new toggle option between companies sometimes doesn't work and I have to log out and back in.

The cost far outweighs the cost of managements time in schedule creation.

The main issue we're able to overcome with 7Shifts is better communication! There has been no other way to effective communicate between 100ish employees, across four companies. Another huge benefit is the availability function to manage 30 college students class schedules. We've cut our schedule creation time to 1/8 of what it used to be.
