The search is lacking. If you don't tag items manually they can be hard to track down. Also, it cannot tell the difference between .ai files and .pdf files of the same name, nor can you visually see an InDesign file so it has to be downloaded to verify it's the right asset or to be reviewed or we use extra space to have PDFs uploaded for each InDesign file. Would be nice to be able to print directly from a file without downloading it first but I understand why that may not be feasable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I dislike about Animaker is its technical limitations and inconsistencies that disrupt the workflow. The audio recording feature is particularly problematic, as it produced clicks and ticks that couldn’t be fixed, forcing me to redo recordings in external software. Additionally, the video playback lag on the platform makes it difficult to review projects effectively, which is especially frustrating given the limited number of downloads available—adding unnecessary steps and potentially incurring extra costs.

The platform’s performance differences between browsers are also a concern. Animaker worked well in Google Chrome but was almost unusable in Safari, which adds to the overall frustration. Animaker solves the challenge of creating professional animations without advanced skills, offering an all-in-one platform with customizable templates and tools. For our team, the biggest hurdle has been navigating the Adobe CC. The process for uploading working files is quite manual and not easy to navigate. I realize this may be because we are using the connector incorrectly or because we are so new to the platform, but this seems like more work for our design team to figure out than it should be. Duplication of assets, struggling to determine naming conventions for files, unsure where to go to grab an asset, and streamlining platforms. This benefits our organization because there were many tools we were using to store assets and people were getting confused on where to look or even who to ask. I've never shared anything I dislike about Canto, but I have to say I've found something! I'd like to share in hopes of improving this feature. Just recently, we were informed of an update in Canto's search feature due to an acquisition. The team was looking forward to an update since our designers as well as the marketing team searches a majority of the day for files on Canto. We were told it was an "amazing" update. Well, I'm quite disappointed in the update, as it seems much worse than the previous search feature. I've heard the same from several team members as well, and these are designers who are fluent with online platforms. I even submitted a help ticket to Canto one day and I was told how to use it, and how to filter things. Well, needless to say, I'm still having a lot of trouble. Canto is easy-to-use, affordable software which provides everything your organization needs for digital asset management. Their customer support is the best, which is a massive plus with a large remote workforce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use Canto software to store our final artwork and internal files, such as brand guidelines, images, logos, etc. It's a necessity to have everyone access all of this online instead of a local server, so anyone anywhere can access the files. We're able to quickly set up client portals for our clients to access, view or download their final art files with ease. Without a CMS like Canto we'd be lost a dozen or more times due to different designers working on the same projects, or having sync issues with Sharepoint. Canto has solved most all of our problems since we stopped using internal servers. Anyone with an internet connection can access any files with ease. We're no longer tied to outdated servers with outdated equipment. We're able to simply log in online to access everything we need. Pheonetic library is needed, with the ability for the cpations to remain without needing updating. We can always use more female AI voices - there are a couple, and several decent males. Sometimes there is a lag in the web based paltform where you sit a wait. I also want to see functionality added where logo's can work on hardhats (they don't for us), more construction or hvac specific scenes but you can make your own scenes and save them. I wish it had the ability to select multiple tracks and make longer or shorter when doing so, and/or a play to the end so you don't need to individually drag them - it would be a huge time saver for me. I also like the contemporary characters more than the business friendly - my guess is the contemporary are newer. I've found at times they have less features that then the buisiness which to us seems cartoonish. The AI text to video is good but not good enough for us to use - yet. You can't add link to my knowledge - if you want them to go to a webpage or link to a file, you'd need to add it after somehow. I am just learning and love most everything else. The way that links can be added towards the video and the automated chapters/titles from AI are amazing and helps summarize what I am trying to say in the video. . my problem been solved by shifting from verbal and text mode to visualiztion mode as I explain , analyze and create my content much better than before, and snagit helped me to do that by providing all necessary tools and features which is super easy to use it and not complicated like other apps. I'm still not a huge fan of dynamic linking. Typically I render and export a comp in After Effects and then bring that final rendered file into Premiere Pro for mastering. The software also often does not play well with Media Encoder. I prefer to encode from After Effects even though the compression options are fewer -- it also crashed less often using this method. For us After Effects is primarily adding motion graphics value to commercial and corporate videos with fast turnarounds via templating. We're able to add a lot of polish to our videos by incorporating motion graphics quickly and seamlessly. Our more advanced motion and graphic designers utilize the software for more custom creations when we have the time. I'm trying to create a 2D animation video, but the agency I approached is charging too much, including taxes, which exceeds my budget. One of the reasons we chose Brandfolder was for its ability to integrate with Adobe software. However, the utilization of CI Hub is difficult and frankly we avoid using it. Most of the time we simply download the assets we need from the Brandfolder web UI. Either CI Hub needs a UI overhaul, or Brandfolder should look into another vendor for it's app integration. We have so many photos, videos, and illustrations that we utilize in our branding and other marketing efforts. Brandfolder has helped us organize it in such a way that we can easily find the asset we are looking for. In the past, you really had to know exactly where to look for something.

Speed of locating assets, ability to preview almost any file type without having to have dedicated software native on a local machine, there is even web-based editing software. Organization of assets. AI generated Keyword population. Lower interaction between departments for content as team members get used to looking on the DAM (PIC.IO) first and just doing a quick query before sending an email or making a phone call as they have the same access as we do for finding such an asset. The only thing that i dont like is that I sometimes have to scroll a lot because of all the information.

Sometimes the PIM is slow all the sudden.

In my job it is really important that all the information is in one place that is easy to oversee and filter. I have to keep track of all the individual features and components of our 800+ products. With the PIM everything stays neatly organized and I do not have a hard time finding the information that I need.
