Deel makes an international contract an easy thing to manage. I thought that preparing a contract with a partner from the US would be a real challenge, but it turned out that thanks to Deel it was a lot easier than it seemed at the beginning. While most items and settings can be easily found within the platform, there are a few items that I'm not able to find through the search bar and have to manually click through each section's settings to find the specific item I'm looking for. As an example - verifying that all W-2's and 1099's are scheduled to be sent by mail - this section lives inside of a navigation menu that is not searchable from the primary search bar. Considering the complexity of PEO solutions and all of the various features, this is a relatively minor issue compared to the value we receive from the platform as a whole. Rippling makes the hiring process stress free - from sending offer letters, to company handbook acknowledgement. Reimbursement management is also a great value prop. Gusto filed an incorrect $0 tax return for our company despite knowing there was a $143.99 liability. They had an "open investigation" noted in their system but never communicated this to us. We only discovered issues after receiving penalty notices from the state. When confronted, Gusto provided contradictory explanations - first claiming Q1 taxes were owed but Q2 wasn't, then later reversing their position entirely.

Support repeatedly deflected responsibility despite clear evidence of their processing errors. As a payroll provider, their core responsibility is to handle tax filings correctly and communicate any issues proactively - they failed at both.

Bottom Line:

If you're considering Gusto, be aware that while their basic payroll functions work fine, their tax filing handling and communication can lead to unexpected penalties that they won't help resolve. One aspect to improve is the rigidity in the structure of user packages, which are only available in multiples, which can be impractical and costly for small teams. Additionally, during the initial stages of use, notifications can be excessive and even intrusive, hindering the initial experience for some users. Sometimes I accidentally press "Clock Out" intead of "Clock In" in the morning which messes up the timesheet.

This can't be corrected immediately due to my user level so I need to contact my manager to fix it.

I understand the reasoning for user level restrictions but it would be good to have a way to fix small errors like this immediately to save time (maybe within a 5 minute time limit or something similar?)

Another thing I wasn't able to work out is how to log in to the mobile app (from the iOS store).

I entered my company name but it wasn't recognised, maybe our IT team need to enable something but it would be good if the onboarding process was clearer.

RUN has been just what we needed for our Time and Attendance woes! The Time and Attendance feature punches our employees in/out, keeps accurate time records, and then transfers the hours right to payroll for processing. According to Keka’s developers, they prefer to keep it simple and one downside is that it might not be as suitable fro power users, at least the default settings might be limiting for handling complex archives. Some users have also experienced some issues with stability when large files are extracted, noting the occasional crash or slow extraction speeds. Finally, although Keka's design is simple, it does not provide users with much information during file compression which can be frustrating when they are unsure of the current status of the program. Finally, Keka is only compatible with macOS operating systems and thus is not a good fit for those who intend to use a multi-platform application. Justworks doubled our benefits costs after the first year (literally DOUBLED). We were under the impression that the point of Justworks was for a small company to share benefits with others, but I know other people who use Justworks for their company and their benefits didn't double in cost.

We asked to cancel our account and they slow played it long enough to claim it was too late to cancel and we'd have to pay them another month.

Once we finally got them to agree to accept our cancelation of benefits, they told us they'd still have to charge us but they'd refund us a month later (we're talking about thousands and thousands of dollars at this point). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While the user interface is generally positive, it sometimes feels too simple. Some areas could benefit from increased functionality and robustness to handle more complex scenarios. For instance, detailed time management and sheets are short on the platform. In addition, it's tough to understand the different departments and entities in Multiplier and which ones we are dealing with. As an international federation, we need to hire employees from different countries, each with unique labour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Multiplier has taken on this burden by acting as the Employer of Record (EOR), ensuring we remain compliant and mitigating legal risks. From payroll and benefits administration to contract management and onboarding, Multiplier simplified these processes for us by providing a centralised platform.

As IFLA, we are not interested in setting up legal entities in foreign countries, which can be expensive and time-consuming. Multiplier eliminated the need for this by acting as the EOR, resulting in a more advantageous focus for us.

However, we believe the benefits for NGOs in terms of annual fees should be further explored and enhanced. We are not financially competitive and desired as some of the big corporate businesses out there. Multiplier needs to develop a more customisable and affordable product for NGOs. There is very little about Paylocity that I dislike, but one thing that I've encountered several times that is very much needed is the ability to share reports with other users. The Paylocity Reporting module has many standardized reports that any user can access, but I need to be able to share customized reports with other administrative users. Until recently, not being able to share customized reports was just an inconvienience but last year, we had a user retire that provided me with a very complex report that was needed twice a year for raises and bonuses. Just last week I had to recreate that report from scratch which took multiple hours of time that I really couldn't afford to spare. Paylocity has helped us automate our onboarding process. Prior to implementing Onboarding through Paylocity, all new hire documents and forms were emailed to the incoming employee and it was the office manager on site's responsibility to make sure that all documents/forms were completed and returned to the HR Department in a timely manner. As with all positions, some office managers are more efficient and timely than others, and we didn't always get everything back or back by the deadline. With Paylocity Onboarding, HR now is in controll of and can monitor an employee's progress throughout the process. If a particular item isn't complete, we know about it in real time and can reach out to that employee directlly. Needless to say, the Onboarding process runs more smoothly and efficiently now. On my experience, their support are really hands on and giving a real time assistance to everyone. It was really the best experience specially when talking about your salary. I thought I might wait longer since I did not notice that my account has been closed by my bank but Borderless support didn't even gave me a hard time and fixed it on the spot.
