I strongly advise against using this product for India-based teams. It is built entirely for the US market, resulting in a poor user experience for Indian employees. The implementation process traps you into using their mandatory vendor partners. You cannot run payroll unless you sign up with their bank, and the benefits module will not work unless you use their chosen insurance provider. They do not disclose these forced partnerships until the contract is signed. Furthermore, the compliance module is highly unreliable. They botched our EPFO entries on the first payroll run and have failed to fix them despite months of escalation. What I like best about BambooHR is how useful it is for simple day to day tasks. I regularly use it to book annual leave, check how many holidays I have remaining and see who is in or out of the business. Having all this in one place makes things much quicker and saves having to contact HR for information I can easily find myself.

The who's out calendar is probably one of the features I use most. For example, if I'm on the phone with a customer and they ask to speak to someone in another team, I can quickly check BambooHR to see if that person is off that day. I can give the customer an answer straight away rather than putting them on hold or messaging around the business trying to find out.

That's actually been an unexpected benefit for me. I originally saw BambooHR mainly as somewhere to manage things like holidays and employee information, but I find myself using it during my normal working day as well. It's also useful when planning my own annual leave because I can check when other people are away before submitting a request. There isn't anything major that I dislike about BambooHR, especially for the everyday things I use it for. One area I think could be improved is how the holiday calendar connects with other tools we use day to day. It would be useful if annual leave and other time off like appointments etc in BambooHR could automatically feed into my Outlook calendar, so I wouldn't need to check different places when planning meetings or looking at someone's availability.

I use the who's out calendar a lot, particularly when I'm speaking to customers and need to quickly whether someone from another team is available. Because of that, having that information more closely integrated with Outlook or Teams would make it even more useful.

BambooHR makes it much easier having everything employee and HR related in one place, I can manage annual leave and half days, record things like appointments and bereavement leave, and access information around maternity and paternity leave without having to go back and forth with HR. Personal information changes, pay and bonus updates, signed documents and contract related information can all be managed and accessed through the same system.

It's also genuinely useful in my day to day work. If I'm on the phone with a customer asking for someone in another team, I can quickly check if that person is off rather than putting the customer on hold or messaging around to find out. Everything was fine until we had a subscription issue that required an actual person to resolve it.

Our company had two paid monday.com accounts, and I consolidated one into the other. Before doing so, I specifically confirmed with both their chatbot and a support representative that the unused subscription would be refunded. I was told the refund would be processed within 7–10 business days.

That was April 27, 2026. It is now September 15, 2026, and we still have not received the refund. Every few weeks I get another email apologizing and saying they are “working on it.”

Something that perplexes me is that the UI seems to treat every member or hire as if they’re an organization leader. For example, I don’t have permission to create reports or search other members, but those options still show up anyway. The UI doesn’t adjust to my role or assume I’m only looking for my own data (since I don’t manage anyone), so it ends up feeling like unnecessary clutter. I’ll click into “Reports” hoping to find what I need, only to realize I can’t customize most of it.

That’s a good segue into another issue: there are some odd gaps in customizability that lead to hunting around in nooks and crannies for basic information.

The #1 culprit for me here is earnings visibility. One thing I’d really like is an easy way to see how much I made per day, and to be able to move that date range around. Right now, I can put how much I made “today” or “this week” on my dashboard, just like I can with hours worked, which is great. But if I want to look at a different week to compare what I worked, I can’t change the range from the dashboard. Timesheets is right there for hours, but earnings are much harder to locate. It shows briefly on the home page, but to find weekly earnings where I can actually change the date range, I have to go into “Reports”—a section I mostly don’t need as an individual with no direct reports. Thankfully there’s a favorites feature, but it still feels like this should be easier to access without having to dig.

My absolute #1 issue (I’m listing it second only because I realize this is probably a feature that helps sell Hubstaff, but I’m still passionate about it) is that I’m not a fan—understatement—of screenshot software or “smart” URL/app-based auto-productivity assessment. To me, it seems like a major PII/privacy/potential HIPAA risk. If, halfway through a work session, Hubstaff captures sensitive information like passwords via screenshot, or I have to quickly reply to an email involving my medical history in the middle of a task, that information is exposed to my managers and potentially to Hubstaff staff. And, there's further risk around that, especially given how quick text is to pull from images: if Hubstaff were hacked while those screenshots are stored on servers, that information could be leaked. From a privacy and legal standpoint, this seems not only unfair but dangerous.

(Additionally, I don’t really have much of an option in my own privacy where Hubstaff is concerned: while I can choose not to work with a client, I have to opt into whatever my clients choose to capture in order to earn money at all. Sometimes that includes signing contracts before they disclose their time tracking and invoicing methods. That's not Hubstaff's fault, but it does mean that the more privacy-aware time tracking methods are -- and the more they highlight what they do to keep individual contributors' data safe -- the more I appreciate them.)

This kind of software also ends up policing what tools people use, especially since it’s used by task-based freelancers who may genuinely need to open websites that look random, entertainment-based, or social as part of their work. That can waste project manager/admin time too, with inflated “low productivity” numbers or alerts that then have to be investigated, or, worse, it can punish workers when those PMs don’t investigate closely.

If there’s a real pattern of low performance, it will show up in other places than which apps someone has open, and there are other tools to evaluate it with that don't bundle with time tracking. I would suggest that it makes more sense to offer these measures after the fact as an option for managers to use selectively—for example, focusing on individuals who show long-term patterns, like excessive idle time, repeated “keep and resume” on idle popups, or who have already been flagged via other KPIs—but not to be turned on across the board as part of onboarding, which forces employees or contractors to accept broad policing measures just to log time. For me, it’s the main way I track my time and communicate to my client how much I’ve worked. So, I suppose, it replaces having to manually track tasks and create invoices, and it saves them from having to bill me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While I generally enjoy using the platform, the main drawback I've encountered is a recurring UI glitch within the timesheets. Specifically, whenever I edit or update an existing time entry, the system automatically resets the view and jumps back to the first day of the week. While it isn't a critical failure, having to constantly navigate back to the correct day disrupts the workflow and adds unnecessary friction to an otherwise helpful time-tracking feature. Before implementing ClickUp, our goal tracking was fragmented and our team lacked a centralised system for monitoring project progress, making our KPIs messy and difficult to measure. ClickUp solved this by creating a single source of truth for all our work. It provided structured task management and real-time visibility, allowing us to accurately track task statuses, monitor performance metrics, and ensure team accountability. One minor thing I dislike about Employment Hero is that the help chatbox sits very close to the action/save button throughout payroll processing, and you can’t move it.

A bigger issue is that Employment Hero will sometimes roll out software enhancements without any notification, which changes the way the system behaves and can affect your processes. It doesn’t necessarily break anything, but you then have to adjust your workflows to suit. Since we implemented Employment Hero, our old manual processes for timesheets and leave applications have been replaced with digital workflows and a clear audit trail. This has made the payroll process much more efficient.

One thing I don’t like is that some parts of the platform feel less intuitive than others, especially when I’m trying to locate specific settings or information. A few workflows take more clicks than I expect, which can make simple tasks feel unnecessarily drawn out. TriNet simplifies payroll, benefits administration, and other day-to-day HR tasks by bringing everything together in one platform. As a result, there’s less manual administrative work, and it’s easier to access employee information, manage routine HR processes, and stay organized. We had issues with the facial recognition. It worked most of the time, but ultimately we stopped using it because it kept mistaking people for one particular employee. He was asked to redo his face scan to see if that fixed it, and I don't know if he ever did. So, that may have cleared it up. However, it works fine in the manual mode that takes a picture. The Android app gave us some trouble to set up, but it eventually worked. The iOS app seemed to work better. I wish you could save custom pay ranges, and have unpaid lunch breaks with paid breaks that turn into unpaid breaks after a set time. ie If someone goes over 15 minutes on a paid break, have it effectively clock them out. Managing PTO hours, calculating worked hours, keeping track of breaks, telling us who is working and who is on break. This saves us the most time in calculating hours. I have had a good experience with we360.ai. As a new administrator, I needed some time to explore the different features and understand which reports would be most useful for our team. The onboarding support helped me a lot, and with regular use the platform has become much easier to navigate. Adding more in-product tips for new users would be a nice addition. We360 has made it much easier for us to keep an eye on attendance and daily work activity, instead of having to check everything manually. We use the dashboard and reports to understand where time is being spent and to get a clear view of how the team is working. If I had to give one piece of constructive feedback, I'd say that I haven't found a way to clock in and out after being logged in. If I'm logged in and adjusting my timesheet, or submitting a time off request, I have to manually select "Sign Out" in order to go back to the screen where I'm able to clock in and out. The standout strengths of HROne are its easy-to-use interface, efficient HR and employee management features, and responsive customer support. I think there are some disconnects here and there. One thing that proves to be a challenge for us is Performance reviews and the manual process we have to take to assign reviews and then go in and manually delete and re-assign as the manager changes or their job changes. Every time I turn around, if I see something that needs refinement, I find that it's on their short list already. My main complaint is the rigid structure of the PTO policy creation and management. Currently, Homebase limits each employee to only one active PTO policy (and one sick leave policy) at a time. I need the flexibility to create and assign multiple distinct PTO policies to single employees—such as separating standard vacation, personal time, or custom tier-based accruals—without being forced into a single blanket policy.
