Construction takeoff software, similar to construction estimating software, is used for one aspect of estimating for construction projects. It is called take off software because construction estimators use blueprints and then “take off” items, such as wiring or switches, to prepare the estimate. Takeoff software allows estimators to get as granular as possible about the resources needed for a construction project, such as number of laborers, estimated timeframes, and tools needed, among other factors. The takeoff process helps estimators get information about the quantity of materials needed and how they tie in to the overall cost of a construction project. This is a critical step before the bidding process. For more information about takeoff functionality, visitor our construction estimating category.
