Server Management Software

Typically, Server Management is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Server Management Software.

Server management can be achieved with a few different types of software. Network management tools provide tools for monitoring, diagnosing, and remedying issues associated with IT infrastructure. These software solutions constantly monitor network performance performance, create a baselines for network performance, alert administrators of crashes, and suggest solutions to performance issues when they arise. Application performance monitoring (APM) software provides management tools for the IT infrastructure backing web applications. They will track your applications functionality and diagnose issues in both programming and physical server functionality. Enterprise IT management suites provide features for both network and application performance. In addition, they supply users with tools for asset tracking and operational intelligence reporting to provide data insights such as power consumption and system performance. If you are looking to avoid local server management, IT outsourcing providers will take the work off your hands and manage your infrastructure.

“Easy to use tool to help triage production support issues”
What do you like best about LogRocket?

The best thing about LogRocket is the ability to playback recorded sessions from our entire user base. It's easy to search by user email or date to match sessions up with the timing of errors in other systems and user reports. Once I find the spot in the session that I need, I can easily share that specific spot in the recording with the engineers. This is extremely helpful in trying to recreate production issues and gather the evidence to streamline a fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LogRocket?

With our current plan, our session replay recordings are available for one month unless they were played back. It would be great to have access to recordings for the past year regardless if they were played back or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LogRocket solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows us to easily find session replays to diagnose issues reported to support. It streamlines a lot of communication back and forth with the reporter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NinjaOne?

We were previously using ConnectWise Automate, and whilst it gave us everything we needed as a business, it was only when we had a demo of NinjaOne did we realise what we were actually missing. The product was easy to configure and setup with step-by-step guides. The integration into our PSA system was seamless and we experienced no issues. NinjaOne gives us features that we didn't realise we needed and has opened our eyes on how a RMM platform should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Freshservice?

Freshservice has a default template when creating a new task or user story. Also we use the analytics chart for stories breakdown by user and burnt down charts are very effective. We integrated freshservice with slack and outlook so whenever there is an update on the ticket, the watchers will be notifiied and take action immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freshservice?

I feel like complex workflow automation like assigning a task to next user based on the bandwidth is not possible. This is dine manually by verifying the scope of each user on the board. Also, mobile app does not support all the desktop features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Freshservice solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use freshservice for tracking our project management. Stories creation and tasks for access requests are all created under the project board and tarcked based on the user including the story points. We integrated Freshservice with slack and outlook so whenever there is an update on the ticket all the watchers and assigned users will be notified directly thru slack and outlook. “Infrastructure and App Monitoring Review”
What do you like best about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

Applications Manager supports many different kinds of monitors like Servers, Network Services, Application Servers, Cloud environments, ERP softwares, virtual environments, containers etc. It has over 100 + monitoring types which has many different performance metrics with each of their app type. Additionally, it has very useful integration capabilities serves well for health and availability monitoring. Even if its usage may take times from person to persone, it has very easiness and usefulness inside. And finally, it can adapt every environment with the support of standalone or distributed type of monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

Applications manager supports many different types of monitors but with this abilitiy, covering what kind of apps to be monitored and how to monitor it can be tricky. As I specified before, each app has own performance metrics and trying to understand the tools in kitchen and using it can be tiresome. So, the technicians should exactly know what to monitor with how to do it. Additionally, the feature request list can be alive faster than normal because in these days, many different technologies, platforms and as well as applications are being derived fast and it's hard to catch up these speeds. So, it should be more agile when it comes different points of monitoring concepts. And finally, the widgets can be more variable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ManageEngine Applications Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mostly the website monitoring are being the top priority and Applications Manager handles this very easily with different monitor types like RUM (Real User Monitoring), EUM (End User Monitoring), Synthetic Transactional Monitoring, APM Insight, Database etc. So, these crucial monitor types are very helpful. Additionally, it can display the problematic monitors with root cause analysis and allow technicians using "Anomaly Templates" which spots anomalies based on upper and lower limits as checking old data. These can help to spot issues fast and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The IAM interface is clear and helpful. The audit log interface is great for incident investigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Cloud Console?

Performance can be lackluster, especially when loading large resource lists or logs. “Easy to use and highly customizable observability platform”
What do you like best about New Relic?

New Relic makes it really easy to transition to their solution since its comes with many pre-built queries and ready to use monitors through its premium interfaces. The solution is cloud-agnostic and highly compatible with various telemetry sources, which made it an ideal all-in-on ecosystem for our observability needs. We were able to utilize it to get more granular on what we spend our money on and further optimize our logs and traces. One of the stronger feature they offer is their application and performance monitoring interface (APM), which comes mostly ready-to-use with set monitors and tools to drill into discrepancies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about New Relic?

I think one of the downside of New Relic is its pricing structure, which comprised of two components : the amount of data ingested and the number of user seats provisionned at each tier level. Altough the basic access tier come free of charge and the core tiers is pretty affordable, they do fall short when it come to usability of the more important features New Relic has to offer. The full platform access tier does provide all the functionnalities most users need, but the price increase is very substantial with this one. I would love for New Relic to come up with an alternative tier that provides a bit more than core, yet less that full platform, at an intermediate price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?

New relic is solving the problem of keeping track of various monitor that comes in diverse format and from various telemetry source, and it does so all in one place and in a consistent matter. The benefit I get from the platform are end-to-end obersability, which translates to automation of alerting workflow, quicker incident response and better SLA for our services. “indispensable component of our system architecture”
What do you like best about FusionReactor APM?

We are running ColdFusion application in a containerized cloud-environment. Containers are sometimes short-living. FR Cloud is the place, where we find diagnostic data and insights into failures.

What we like most, is the ability to dive deep into the request and even see the template and line number of a CFML file, where the issue occured.

Apart from that, FR helps us to "right-size" our infrastructure components and monitor the effects of our modifications.

The installation is quite easy and configuration with config files goes straight forward.

We are able to give access to our customer's IT, so that they can monitor independently on a daily basis, without the need of having dedicated access into our SaaS setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FusionReactor APM?

nothing ;-)

one thing to improve: documentation of the config file. We were configuring via the Admin UI on a local instance and then took the config file for our Docker deployment. But with a full documentation, that step would become easier.

an idea for improvement: if we could integrate FR with AWS XRay, as we are using an event-driven architecture - this would give us a perfect insight into our system behaviour. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The monitoring part is so unique and good. Many of our clients love the feature which Sematext is giving to us.

The Sematext Synthetics feature is amazing as it automatically checks the health checks.

The metrics and Dashboard creation are quite good, and you also get an option to view the status dashboard via the custom domain. which is very unique and impressive as they are giving at such a nominal price.

What do you like best about Lumigo?

Lumigo is good in several aspects. it is easy to use when it comes to user interaction with the dashboard and also easy to implement since it has straightforward integration with the AWS account and selecting the resources to be monitored through the lumigo dashboard.

It facilitates with number of features like configuring alert frequency, monitoring infrastructure, execution time monitoring, and customizable UI.

It is easy to integrate with third-party tools like Slack, and Gmail for notifications.

they also have very flexible customer support, Whenever we have new challenges they'll engineer the solution for us and for every new set of feature releases they'll schedule a call with us for a walkthrough of new features explaining what and how will it be useful for us. What do you dislike about Lumigo?

right now it is challenging to disable or exit from lumigo once the AWS account is integrated. for that action, we need to raise a customer support request which becomes a tedious task for a developer. Self disabling/exiting option would greatly enhance the overall experience with Lumigo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?

we have a number of serverless applications deployed on AWS, it's challenging to manually go through logs to get insights like execution time, errors, performance, etc. through cloud watch logs, with lumigo all these challenging tasks become super easy. Letting us focus more on development rather than monitoring. with the insights we get through the Lumigo dashboard, it becomes easy for us to clearly identify bugs, a lambda that is consuming more time, etc. and we can work on fixing those bugs or optimizing and reducing operational costs.

configuring alert notifications helps us quickly focus on issues and thereby helps us maintain the quality/accuracy of the application.

Lumigo also gives us insights on which endpoint or basically which lambda is triggered more, this gives us an idea of what features of our business application are being used more by end-users and we can work on improving the performance and quality of that feature more.
