“SOX Controls Made Easier”
What do you like best about AuditBoard?

I like how easy AuditBoard makes it to document and test SOX controls. Once you learn the system, linking information is simple and intuitive. The platform also offers a vast library of resources, including trainings, guides, and recorded learning sessions, making it easy to find answers or get closer to a solution with a little research.

What truly stands out, though, is the community AuditBoard has built. The platform fosters knowledge-sharing on a level I’ve never experienced before—connecting me with auditors across the globe to troubleshoot solutions and discuss best practices. I’ve interacted with and learned from more auditors through AuditBoard than I ever could have through my local CPA chapter, which speaks volumes about its reach and impact.

I also like the fact so many of AuditBoard's employees come from the audit industry. They know what I am looking for or to do, and they actually come out with a lot of enhancements based on their experiences auditing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AuditBoard?

AuditBoard does not do the best with letting clients know about issues happening within their system that are impacting users and sometimes we only find out after we submit a service desk ticket in. Examples include times when we could not download our testing documents and this was a known issue affecting multiple customers, yet we did not learn that this issue was being worked on until after a ticket was submitted. Customer support does do well with working with you once a ticket is submitted which is a positive, I just think they could be more proactive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AuditBoard solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is the repository for all of our working papers. It's our one stop solution to the current year and all prior year work papers becuase you can access it all through the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Workiva has amazing features that make the process much easier.

Workiva is very easy to work with.

Workiva connects different documents by creating connections.

What do you dislike about Workiva?

Very often connection is very slow.

There is no current way to share document with big group of people without giving access to each one to Workiva - for example group of 10000 people within one organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Stay away. Overpromised and Underdelivered”
What do you like best about Vena?

To be honest, we were so disappointed that it’s hard for me to find anything positive to say. I guess the team was very nice and tried its best, but I feel sorry for them having to deal with such a clunky product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

After a nine month implementation, we ultimately decided to stop the process after spending countless hours on it. Vena’s models are extremely rigid and couldn’t accommodate our needs and requirements. Instead, they asked us to lower our expectations because the product simply couldn’t deliver.

On top of that, they failed to integrate with our ERP, despite claiming that "dozens of users are already using it."

I’m furious about the time and money we wasted on this failed process, not to mention an entire year that was completely lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?

As we didn’t complete the implementation and stopped it midway, I’m unable to answer this question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Scrut Automation helps us to keep in control over our ISO and SOC2 frameworks”
What do you like best about Scrut Automation?

Most useful is the automated reminders on updating the evidence. Furthermore, a lot of controls regarding employees and vendors can be monitored from within Scrut. The dashboard provides a great overview of the status of the different frameworks you as a company have implemented. In our case this is ISO-27001:2022 , SOC2 Type II and GDPR. It also provides automatic scanning of your public cloud solution which covers a big part of the needed controls. We use Scrut Automation in combination with Confluence and Jira to be able to have the most workflow related evidence collected automatically. All in all it saves us lots of time which we can than use to improve our overall ISMS-score. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scrut Automation?

The software and underlying databasesystem are a little buggy which sometimes results in loss of information. In the end the issues are solved. but this takes longer than needed and SA could definitely improve on that aspect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Fantastic planning tool with great ease of use.”
What do you like best about Drivetrain?

My overall experience with Drivetrain has been great. The tool is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Producing new reports is seamless and user friendly. The implementation took ~ 3 months and was quite smooth. The DT implementation team made sure that the platform was up and running in time for our planning cycle. Additionally, Rohit who lead the implementation, has been incredibly responsive, collaborative, and made sure that the tool met our needs. We're now using Drivetrain daily and look forward further driving adoption of the tool across our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Drivetrain?

There are a few minor cosmetic suggestions I've made to the DT team. Our feedback tends to be well received and updates are made within the tool quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Strong planning and real-time reporting tool”
What do you like best about Mosaic Tech?

Real=time updates make dashboarding and reporting quite simple. Once the reports are set up, it's pretty easy to adjust time periods to create new versions.

The modeling and forecasting is similarly pretty straightforward, and robust enough for most use cases. For example, it's pretty simple to work from an existing expense line item and forecast it forward using any number of formulaic approaches (flat, grow by x%, grow based on some other metric like headcount, etc.). It does have a lot of capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mosaic Tech?

There is definitely a learning curve with regards to creating formulas and linking the elements of a financial model. The syntax of the formulas is different from Excel/GSheet, but the support site has lots of examples so one can get pretty far on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mosaic Tech solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating new forecasting scenarios (and having those scenarios be populated with actuals over time) is now much easier than combining those in Excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Delivering business value through an intuitive interface”
What do you like best about Apliqo?

Apliqo is built from its foundations with the end user experience in mind. It offers an intuitive interface, place on top of any type of business problem for planning and reporting.

It can integrate Excel input in the same front end, so end users can decide if they want to prepare data outside of the web-front end and load their results, or work directly in the tool. This combination allows users the freedom they need and desire to work in a way that suits them best.

The ideas behind the applications are always aimed towards ease of maintenance, a uniform look and feel and a do-it-yourself approach where IT involvement is limited to a minimum and business users can be autonoumous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apliqo?

It is a not a drag-and-drop tool for do it yourself dashboarding. But it is also not intended to be this. The target of Apliqo is rolling out applications to a group of end users that can get going without the need for extensive trainings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We mainly use Apliqo (both UX and FPM) for internal reporting. We use it for our day-to-day timesheets, our (financial) month end close, dashboarding and reporting.

The operational model is tracking our projects on a day-to-day basis, provinding an overview of budgets-to-date, time spent (hours/days), expenses tracking. Our users are entering information on a daily basis.

For the financial closing we are currently utilising the P&L/Balance sheet reporting layer across our region, based on input from various countries, coming from different data sources (accounting systems).

Everything gets harmonized through a common mapping to a uniform group layer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Anaplan continues to improve for Sales Planning”
What do you like best about Anaplan?

Anaplan's platform continues to evolve in an incredible way. Just in the last 18 months, the following has released: app native workflow, build in data management, AI, brand new tech that builds models for you ("T&Q app"). It's changing what you expect from an EPM tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anaplan?

Anaplan's pricing can be confusing and opaque. This is due to an evolving platform, technology, and GTM model. Customers from just 3 years ago may have completely different expectations on pricing and that can cause friction. However, the GTM model had to change - the platform, which did not drastically change from 2014-2022, has received an incredible overhaul in terms of technical functionality, and old pricing models did no capture that at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Anaplan solving and how is that benefiting you?

I will specifically answer this question regarding the territory and quota (T&Q) use case. T&Q represents a widespread, needed-everywhere planning problem but it doesn't have any of its own big software players. The reason is that Anaplan is so well-suited to the use case, that you'd waste your time trying to create a bespoke competitor. And Anaplan's offering is only strengthening.

T&Q has the hallmarks needs of planning: nuanced, many disparate data sets, very large data sets, operational and financial considerations, many distributed stakeholders, and consistent collaboration. Anaplan checks each of those boxes an we see it at our customers. Our customers tell us they love a prescriptive approach that they still can own (the new T&Q app comes out of the box), where they can merge what they love about their current process with the best-in-class they need. These streamlined T&Q apps help our customers create fairer territories with better account scoring, build better quotas to set the right incentives and reach the right attainment curve, and do it all significantly faster. Our happiest customer now deploys territories and quota before the yera begins when it previously took them until 6 weeks into Q1. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Game Changer!”
What do you like best about LiveFlow?

LiveFlow is the product we've been dreaming of! It gives us the ability to share current, accurate financials with key players without the need to login or even have access to our accounting software.

We can show a consolidated view of all companies in our portfolio even though each has a separate QuickBooks company. I also love that we can group any companies together into individual workspaces to customize reports for each unique leader. It also allows custom reporting to show uniquely selected pieces of the GL. Furthermore, being able to drill into the numbers to see the data and seamlessly click into QuickBooks if necessary is incredibly helpful!

The onboarding process was fantastic as well. High level of support and follow up. They even had a member of the dev team join to learn ways they may be able to increase value and meet the needs of their customers. Honestly super impressed with everyone on the team, their knowledge and goal to be the highest value product they can be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LiveFlow?

Mapping the GL accounts on set up is slighly time consuming but even this aspect is reasonable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LiveFlow solving and how is that benefiting you?

LifeFlow allows us to provide detailed and up the the minute financials to key players in the organization that don't live in QuickBooks like the finance team does. “Helping us to Stay on Track”
What do you like best about AchieveIt?

Achieve has been a great way for our department to keep regular track of our progress and to evaluate where we are at and where we will need to be going ahead.

It is easy to login each month and see where we have been and compare last month's progress to this.

AchieveIt has also helped me to be accountable for looking at data each month instead of leaving it to "when there is time in my schedule." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AchieveIt?

One thing that has been challenging for me to get used to about monthly reporting is what to do when our numbers go down in a month instead of in an upward trajectory. One way to mitigate this is the emphasis on both a general progress and a numerical report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“A transformative tool”
What do you like best about Abacum?

Abacum is a transformative tool for us as we scale out our organization. It was easy to use and started providing value within days of kicking off implementation. It is intuitive but also powerful, which can be a difficult line to walk. It is allowing us to democratize our financial data and empower internal planning. The Abacum team is responsive and customer-oriented, but my favorite thing about the tool is that they're often not required — it's user-friendly for even those of us not overtly trained in data management but rather focused on the business KPIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Abacum?

“Great program, but I have a long wish list”
What do you like best about Solver?

*I can rely on Solver as a tool to get financial reporting done.

*The API to powerBI has worked flawlessly so far.

*User's ability to load their forecasts and budgets directly into the scenario.

*Security is easy to implement

*Security settings staying constant throughout all the different modules e.g., reporting archive, input template, etc.

*I like the role that was created in Solver for more technical customer support without having to escalate questions/needs e.g., Steve Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Solver?

*Data Explorer's load time is slow. I'd like the initial view limited to 100 records to speed it up.

*Unable to control the report archive for my users. I want to be able to delete reports in their archive, similar to being an admin in a workspace.

*Parameter naming is inflexible. I had an issue where a previous report creator was using 'periods' and I was using 'period'. This created a confusing extra period filter in the report archive for users. To fix this, I had to delete the old parameter out of every report and setup a new paramter. Then I had to publish the report to the report archive and now my users have 2x the report because I can't control their archive space.

*Default LID entry in input templates. My users think it's clunky and they constantly make mistakes while using it e.g., leaving the last column cell blank & somehow breaking it by putting a value in the main line (even though I thought that wasn't supposed to be possible... they found a way to break it). I then have to clear out everything, save, and re-enter in the LID section.

*Solver is very slow sometimes or has issues fetching drill-down data or it fails. I'd like to have an indication of when Solver is experiencing a slowdown or issues.

*Customizing a drill-down in a report is cumbersome.

*No way to 'view as' a role. In many programs I admin, I can 'view as' a role so I can interact with the program the way the user is enabled to.

*Auto-save feature for input templates. I had 2 users enter their budgets and not his save this cycle.

*Overhaul the look and UI experience of input templates. I had some users complain that it wasn't "slick looking"... I get that it's Excel, so maybe at least Learning Academy courses on beautifying a report template and best practices for the user experience.

*Maybe I missed this option, but there is no way (?) to get a summary of my publisher jobs for the day so I can see what ran or did not run easily.

*Lack of user community. With many other software programs, users can respond and try to help others, and then an official representative of the software responds occasionally. The Solver community forum is a borderline ghost town.

*Need the ability to lock roles in the planning security section instead of having to lock the entire scenario down

*Metrics on how often reports are viewed and by what users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Solver enables our company to quickly build up its future financial picture. Since the department heads can enter their budgets and forecasts directly into Solver, we get the information ASAP. This helps our executive team intervene if necessary, informs their decision-making, and helps them with their plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Datarails has saved me so much time + stress”
What do you like best about Datarails?

I have a very heavy excel data intense role, which causes great frustration due to excel freezing. Datarails however has stopped this stress, and all the heavy datasets are stored on Datarails and their formulas are used to pull this data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?

My role requires analysing hundreds of thousands of rows of customer performance data each month, and ten's of rows. Essential ERM is an excellent tool that enables us to engage our business unit leaders effectively, seamlessly aligning our enterprise risks with our strategic objectives. It is an easy-to-use, easy-setup, and flexible system with excellent customer service. The visualization capabilities and clear, comprehensive dashboards make monitoring and managing risks straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Essential ERM?

It is just my personal preference for the future, but possible integration with Power BI to automate reporting would be a valuable enhancement. However, the system does provide comprehensive data analysis itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Essential ERM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Firstly, the product provides great customer service and a comprehensive knowledge base. This was crucial for us because, during the setup stage, especially since it was the first time for our organization, we lacked experience using the platform. The company offers various training sessions, guidance, personal support, and excellent in-system support for any questions. Additionally, the program is easy to use; we easily engaged our leaders and used the voting option online during our meetings. The product is well-designed to bring all the pieces together and monitor the progress of risk mitigation.

Essential ERM addresses several critical issues. The system effectively tracks and manages incidents, linking them to risks, controls, and action plans, which enhances our organizational response and mitigation strategies. Moreover, it aligns enterprise risks with strategic objectives, ensuring that business unit leaders and executives are effectively engaged. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Great FP&A tool with transaction level observability”
What do you like best about Vareto?

Integrates with multiple ERPs, which is fantastic for our private equity firm where we have portfolio companies on different systems. Vareto allows us to report and monitor all of our companies in a familiar format while giving us transaction level observability into the numbers.

The software has been very easy to use, intuitive, and fairly painless to implement. The ability to quickly slice and dice data, as well as quickly present it in a concise and easily digestable format is a game-changer. Add on top of that the ability for users to add comments and ask questions directly in reports/dashboards, our teams will be more connected and organized during the financial review and planning processes than ever before.

We have also had an amazing customer experience with the whole team and truly feel like they are our partner in our pursuit to automate and standardize our reporting and planning functions across our portfolio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“HyperProof Review: Streamlining Compliance and Risk Management for Modern Enterprises”
What do you like best about Hyperproof?

HyperProof makes it easy to drive evidnece collection and retention. Also, modules can be repurposed in some ways such as turning the risk register into a POAM manager so there is flexibility on what can be done. Thanks to HyperProof I have seen a reduction in man hours needed to maintain my compliance packages. Hyperproof is easy to implement and cusotmer support is amazing as the hyperProof team is always improving the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hyperproof?

The only issue I have seen with hyperProof is if a jumpstart is done with similar controls as it can create duplicates with no way of mass deletion. However, HyperProof is fixing this issue, and the reason why it is important as a user to test everything in the sandbox before doing anything in the production enviroment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hyperproof solving and how is that benefiting you?

HyperProof is helping to solve issues such as time maintaining security packages and audits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
