What do you like best about Murf.ai?

You receive a large number of voices to pick from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Murf.ai?

I signed up on the business lite plan which is not a cheap decision. I own a training organisation that specialises in health. The first 4 learner resources we converted converted without an issue but than we started getting errors. We now could not convert more than 15,000. We now could not convert out text because it had the word 'drug' in it or the names of body parts or it would not convert text, without any reason why. I then connected Murf and, in summary, was told too bad. Murfs response was to change our content. So now we had to change the real name of body parts, or health terminology to suit Murf, what a joke. Even worse, I paid for 50 projects and although I have only been able to successfully convert 8 projects, my licence says I have converted 23 projects because this system counts the failed attempts as a download. Do not use this software and do not believe the 5 star reviews, particularly if you are trying to use this software to convert learning material for people with learning difficulties, MURF does not care. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Murf.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?

Murf is not solving any of my issues. They are in total denial. I just throw aware over $1200. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Podcast Launch”
What do you like best about Riverside.fm?

I really like the AI features that assist in the editting process. It makes it so much easier to edit an episode for my podcast and I like that I have options on how I can use AI so that I can still ensure there is a human aspect to the edits. It has been so easy to use and helpful in launching a podcast.

I also really appreciate how fast their customer service as been. the few times I have reached out they resolve the issue within 24 hours and stay in constant communication with me while they figure out my needs and how to support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Riverside.fm?

I still find it a struggle to find the right mix for best sound quality episodes. Each episode seems to fluctuate and it is hard to adjust any audio settings once you are recording. I have found that often it will sound good during record or when I run a quick test but then the final edit ends up crackly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Riverside.fm solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am not sure I have seen any problems within the features I am using that need to be resolved. Their customer support is awesome and quick though when something arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“After three years, I continue to have a love/meh experience with Descript.”
What do you like best about Descript?

Easy project management (especially retrieval of previous versions) and easy removal of most (never all) repeat words. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

After three years of repeated complaints and requests for improvement, Descript's AI engine still "goes rogue" with the same types of phrases. This is not unique to Descript. I've seen it with other products as well, and they all have a similar response, that the LLM model is always "learning" or "trying to learn" to improve the outcome, and there's no way to control the specific issues I've complained about and "teach" the AI engine to type exactly what it hears. But I don't buy it. Other responses have repeatedly suggested less-than-clear audio is to blame, which has *never* been the case.

What adds to my angst about this behavior is it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but at least 50% of the time, and these particular issues are patterns that cannot be overcome with macros or other editorial clean-up automation because you do not know which are incorrect until you listen to the audio. It greatly slows down the proofing-to-audio process to have to correct these issues that are not "listening errors" but rogue AI decisions.

In no particular order of importance:

"OF" WITH DATES:

Spoken: "January 1st of 2021" or "January 1 of 2021"

Sometimes transcribed: "January 1st, 2021" or "January 1, 2021"

ORDINALS ADDED OR REMOVED:

Spoken: "January 1st, 2021"

Sometimes transcribed: "January 1, 2021"

Spoken: "January 1, 201"

Sometimes transcribed: "January 1st, 2021"

CONTRACTIONS:

Spoken: "I haven't heard a response."

Sometimes transcribed: "I have not heard a response."

Spoken: "I have not heard a response."

Sometimes transcribed: "I haven't heard a response."

I have recently discovered another AI engine that transcribed these types of phrases with 100% accuracy, using the same audio that had been run through Descript with a 50% or more error rate. So it certainly IS possible to tweak the AI engine to transcribe exactly what is spoken and not what it thinks is better.

Another issue I have is the limited usefulness of the Transcription Glossary feature. It does not allow the use of numbers, for starters. In my work, I get a lot of the same words or phrases that include numbers, such as Rule 404(b), which Descripts transcribes as 4 0 4 B or 4 0 4 b. It also seems arbitrary in how it interprets and applies words and phrases in the glossary, applying them some of the time and ignoring them other times when it is clear that it should have. For example, if I know the audio will include many references to "Joann," and I add that to the glossary, I might get 15 instances of "Joann" along with several instances of "Jo Ann" and "Jo Anne."

The big carrot that keeps me tied to Descript is the ability to remove duplicate words. It never removes all of them, but it removes enough to greatly reduce the time needed to remove them during proofing. This is not something that can be easily automated, so I continue to give more weight to this feature than I probably should. In the case of the other AI engine that I also use, the carrot in that one is the unlimited upload hours per month feature, which is significant (Descript's subscription model is limited to 30 hours per month). But I am continuously on the lookout for an AI engine that checks all the boxes for transcription accuracy, ease of use, overall cost, and removing repeat words. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automating the transcription process has been a blessing for my productivity because my hands are in constant pain from years of abuse and progressively worsening arthritis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Arguably the the easiest tool to use with 0 prior knowledge on how to even launch a podcast”
What do you like best about Podcastle?

We've been using Podcastle for almost a year now, recording episodes on average once a week, and we're not planning to switch platforms any time soon. It's super easy to record both audio and video, then edit and download later (for further editing, if required). We’ve never encountered any major issues with customer service, unlike some other reviews here. Every time I've reached out via message or email, I’ve received a response within a few hours, and any problems were resolved pretty quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Podcastle?

This is more of a nitpicky comment about some of the editor’s features. For instance, it would be helpful to have an option to "snap" audio files together with millisecond precision or the ability to cut multiple audio tracks simultaneously instead of one by one. This doesn't take away from the overall user experience, as I do further editing after recording outside of Podcastle as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Podcastle solving and how is that benefiting you?

Saves a ton of time between scheduling, recording and then editing a podcast episode, as I don't have to do everything separately with a bunch of different tools. Same goes with any sort of transcription, as the text versions of the podcasts come in handy for other aspects of my job.

Saves me a significant amount of time by streamlining the whole process of scheduling, recording, and editing podcast episodes, as I no longer need to do everything separately with a bunch of different tools. The transcription feature is also a huge plus, as having text versions of the podcasts is super useful for other aspects of my job (e.g., content repurposing). “Audiate has been a game changer for my job role and career.”
What do you like best about Camtasia Audiate?

I love how simple Camtasia Audiate is to use. As someone coming from no background in audio or video production, I was able to get right into Audiate and use it to help make my internal training videos professional and engaging. It also seamlessly integrates into Camtasia and allows me to edit whole or specific track and import them right back in with transcriptions included! I use both Camtasia and Camtasia Audiate on almost a daily basis in my job and it has allowed me to grow in ways I had never imagined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia Audiate?

The only downside I have found to Camtasia Audiate is when using the AI audio scripts, it doesn't allow for intonation adjustments. I'd also love to see Audiate further develop its background noise removal feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Camtasia Audiate solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am doing my own voice overs for all of the content we are creating for the different departments at my company and I have zero experience with audio recording or production. Audiate has allowed me to create studio quality voice overs to make our training videos professional. I was also originally writing out all of the transcripts but with Audiate and its new ability to generate the transcripts it has been an entire game changer. What do you dislike about Audacity?

“It's the best instrumental production software that I know”
What do you like best about FL Studio?

Besides work, I also do beat-making for the side hustle. In 2015 I started using Fruity Loop Studio ( version 12 edition up to version 20 today) and my experience with this software has been very impactful.

I started as a complete beginner and was kind of scared by how complex the user interface was -however, as time evolved I finally realized that It wasn't as hard or complex as I thought.

Fruity Loop Studio offers some of the best instrumental music production solutions. It's easy to use and empowers creativity workflow.

It is rich in drum packs, instrument generators, SFX sounds, and presets.

Some of the main features that I adore are:

- the playlist. It's very easy to work with and I get to assign different colors to each track (in the playlist) which helps to better organize my instruments to easily distinguish them. The playlist can hold quite a large number of tracks.

- The mixer: It's also another great future that I adore in Fl Studio. I get to send all the instruments from the channel rack into separate tracks in the mixer. The mixer gives me extra control over mixing and mastering of my beats.

-The plugins: Fl offers a ton of helpful plugins from Equalizers to reverbs, delays, compression, and more.

And one of the most amazing aspects of it is that I can create a limitless number of automation with every single plugin. This is amazing as it gives a modern feeling to my productions.

- Fl is also versatile. Apart from the built-in plugins and sample packs, I can also import and install third-party plugins.

Just with a scan, It automatically detects the newly installed plugins and I can add the to repository immediately.

The user interface is very flexible, responsive and supports drag & drop. I really recommend this software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FL Studio?

While Fl Studio is a great software, It takes a lot of disk space on my HDD and also uses a lot of memory. But I think that it's not a big deal Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is FL Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps to create instrumental beats that local artists in my area find professional and use in their albums. It's really a great tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Adobe Audition - A powerful tool for professional audio editing”
What do you like best about Adobe Audition?

I often turn to Adobe Audition for my multimedia projects because of its powerful audio editing features. With tools like multitrack editing, spectral frequency display, and noise reduction, the functions work perfect for professional audio production. The platform offers a variety of built-in effects and plugins, including reverb, compression, and equalization, which significantly enhance audio quality. Additionally, the ability to customize workspaces helps improve productivity and streamline the editing process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Audition?

The company pays for a subscription, but it can be quite expensive for individual users. There are a lot of features in this software that I don't use. I remember pressing multiple buttons to find the features I needed, and I felt that the interface was designed to be a little complicated. Very occasionally, I've experienced crashes and stability issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Audition solving and how is that benefiting you?

I’ve worked on a significant amount of recorded audio, much of which contains unwanted noise. Eliminating this noise from the original recordings can be quite challenging. Fortunately, Adobe Audition enables me to effectively reduce noise and compress audio to achieve high-quality results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Love It”
What do you like best about Logic Pro X?

I love Logic, I love how its really next level up from Garageband. I first started using it in Audio Engineering school at SAE in 2016. Logic Pro was my go too when I was terrified of using Pro Tools at first when learning as an artist as to record myself. Now because of BootCamp messing with my computer in 2022 it's my go to for everything audio for both making beats, producing and recording vocals. I absolutely love Drummer track its Apple Loops. It was so crazy learning Usher's Love In This Club was just 2 Apple Loops that Polo Da Don put together and it became a loop. Logic is my audio best friend. For beatmaking out of the major ones Pro tools, FL and Ableton, all my money on Logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?

I do not really like mixing vocals take a lot more time than it would in Pro Tools, like their reverb plugins aren't necessarily the best. I wholeheartedly believe Logic is better for making beats and doing the overlay of producing something. But that's just me because I have seen people master songs in Logic with vocals in less than 30 minutes. But I feel the Reverb could be better and the mixing process with vocals shouldn't be so tedious. But making beats? Oh, Logic can do no wrong in my humble opinion. Out of all the DAWs with that I have to go with Logic. But I humbly feel its not the best for mixing vocals. I actually had to get plugins to mix my vocals in it better. But I'm definitely not going to smear Logic Pro though, but I will be honest that it need better plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has helped me be able to easily find my love for beat making. Bringing songs to life that are in my head even without live instruments and using to create songs. As I said in 2016 when I first started using it in college me and Logic was inseparable. It still is more than ever because when after using Bootcamp on my Mac and it messed up my computer settings to bounce in Pro Tools. Logic was the DAW that helped me pull through and still get the job done. Logic also helped me record the audio for my audio for my Podcast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“What a great tool for editing audio!”
What do you like best about GoldWave?

I like the vast array of features built into GoldWave. It's easy to use, and it's effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoldWave?

The UI probably seems a little outdated, but that's really just a style thing. It's not an issue in terms of usability, just looks a little dated. Also, even though I can open any ridiculous number of audio files for editing at the same time, there doesn't seem to be a way to apply the same action or tool to more than one of them at a time. Ideally, I'd be able to apply a tool like Noise Reduction to every file I have open (or at least selected files). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoldWave solving and how is that benefiting you?

When I record live voice narration for use in tutorial videos, I need an easy and effective noise reduction tool to clean up the audio from my live mic. I can't afford an expensive sound stage with acoustic treatment covering the walls and whatnot; I just have a desktop pro mic, a reflexion filter, and a pop filter. So I still get some background noise (e.g., from my desktop computer, which has plenty of cooling for the video rendering hardware). GoldWave lets me clean up all that noise so you don't hear the room or any background sounds (within reason). Using the Noise Reduction tool I can clean that stuff up with about three clicks. The resulting audio files sound much crisper, cleaner, and more ... direct. I bought my license GoldWave license some time ago, and it's well worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Best and Easiest Audio Plugins for video”
What do you like best about RX Post Production Suite?

I LOVE Izotope! It has made my job of filming and editing so much easier. Gone are the days of stressing over filming locations that are reverbing and background noise. RX takes care of noise and reverb in a few clicks. It works just as well on high-end shot gun mics and iPhones! I can process footage directly in Preimere, making editing smooth and simple. What do you dislike about RX Post Production Suite?

I wish RX provided more education on using the tools to get the most out of them. This would be especially helpful for the video space when you are not an audio professional. I hope they expand AI into the tools for more advanced but simplified help over time. If they offered cloud upload, processing, and download for video or audio clips would be great too to make workflows even easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is RX Post Production Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use RX to clean up the audio for video. I use it as a plugin in Premiere Pro daily. It works in real time with any audio, which is fantastic. If you need deeper editing or the file is long I would recommend opening it directly in the RX app and export it back to Premiere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auphonic?

Auphonic is the best application available for sound enhancement. Having Good customer support it is very easy to use and implement. It has so many advanced AI features but the best part that I like is its noise cancellation audio editing and audio enhancing features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auphonic?

I have been using this application daily. I have faced a few issues with the integration. It took so much time to integrate with other applications apart from that it is a very good application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auphonic solving and how is that benefiting you?

Auphonic mainly works with the audio podcasts and editing the large audio's. Its noise and reverb reduction feature eliminates ambient sounds and unwanted background noises with the help of an advanced AI denoising algorithm and gives crystal-clear audio. We can also filter the unwanted frequencies with the help of the Auto EQ algorithm which automatically analyzes and optimizes the frequency spectrum. These all features play a major role and help in saving time and reducing audio post-production costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
