How significantly it has gone downhill in about a year of use. EVBRY single time I log in to use it, there is "a new version of descript" and it consistently gets less effective, harder to navigate, and slower. The primary need I had for this tool was transcription and removing filler words but it's not even properly transcribing those words anymore, nor identifying the correct speakers. Downloads take hours (on 2GB hardwired fiber so not the internet) when they should take minutes. Publishing functions are not granular enough and lack real control. They also outright lied about their new pricing (which is published on their site) when I tried to cancel, effectively trying to scare me into staying. This had the opposite impact. The user interface is not at all user friendly. Audacity does not have a lot of features required for proper audio mixing and mastering, and even the existing features are not easy to find because of the poor user interface. I record videos and interviews and then I need to edit the videos. It would take forever without Audiate, because you'd have to listen to the entire thing and then when you decide to delete a section, it would take forever to find the starting point of that topic you want to delete. I’ve worked on a significant amount of recorded audio, much of which contains unwanted noise. Eliminating this noise from the original recordings can be quite challenging. The things that I dislike most about Logic Pro X is that the software can sometimes get overwhelmed with the amount of voice and instrument channels that you implement. Even with a Mac Book Pro with 16 GM of RAM, more than 8 different channels bogged down Logic Pro X and it was very laggy. The ultimate sound that came out of the work was outstanding, but the process itself was frustrating. When using Logic Pro X to create sounds and commercial audio for ad campaigns, it has been a huge costs saving driver due to it's one-time fee and ease of use. After teaching my assistant a few tricks and tips about Logic Pro X, they were competent enough to follow simple tasks and directions which saved me time to do more A/B testing so tht our audio would actually be viewed. One of the least likeable things about Power Sound Editor is its outdated user interface which can be confusing and difficult to navigate for some users. Additionally, some users have reported that the software is prone to crashing and can be unstable at times. I realized a very serious challenge when I started using the software on Desktop Computers.

There was a time that power was suddenly interrupted which made the computer abruptly shut off.

By the time I switched it on and loaded my Project, Studio One says the file is corrupt, so I couldn't load the project again and it has happened consistently. The UI probably seems a little outdated, but that's really just a style thing. It's not an issue in terms of usability, just looks a little dated. Also, even though I can open any ridiculous number of audio files for editing at the same time, there doesn't seem to be a way to apply the same action or tool to more than one of them at a time. When I record live voice narration for use in tutorial videos, I need an easy and effective noise reduction tool to clean up the audio from my live mic. I can't afford an expensive sound stage with acoustic treatment covering the walls and whatnot; I just have a desktop pro mic, a reflexion filter, and a pop filter. So I still get some background noise (e.g., from my desktop computer, which has plenty of cooling for the video rendering hardware). GoldWave lets me clean up all that noise so you don't hear the room or any background sounds (within reason). Using the Noise Reduction tool I can clean that stuff up with about three clicks. I wish RX provided more education on using the tools to get the most out of them. This would be especially helpful for the video space when you are not an audio professional. I hope they expand AI into the tools for more advanced but simplified help over time. I use RX to clean up the audio for video. I use it as a plugin in Premiere Pro daily. It works in real time with any audio, which is fantastic.
