We have a large team over here and with ARES we have good collaborative features like Commenting on the drawing, picture note and Version history. Which really helped us to cut down our overall project completion time.

There are a few drawbacks. The learning curve can be steep for beginners, especially if you're not already familiar with Siemens products like NX. You need to master how planes work, if you intend to asemble your parts and components easily, simulating real world relationship between the parts via the asssembly enviroment.

You need to fully understand assembly modeling especially if you are working on a large project with over a thousand part. etc

The ilogic feature in inventor basically hands me the power to automate my design, create variations and initaite design configurationns in a controlled manner. This leads to my ability to meet clients need in the shortest possible time.

Adopting Inventor for my product design workflow makes the entire experince smooth. I am giving the ability to implement and insert fastners, mechanical weldments, belt and chain drives, mechanical frames an others, through calculated, and analysis-based processes,thus making informed design decisions.

Basically, an ADMS console is required to set up a server, then an Autodesk vault client is set up for authoring of design data into the sever, via dedicated file structures. All i did was to link Inventor to my Autodesk vault, then all my designs from inventor was easily checked in and out of the vault, ensuring proper design documentation , control, and secuirty, to mention a few. It's parametric block design compared to AutoCAD's dynamic blocks. I HATE how the visibility states can be outside of the block so that when you explode a block that has visibilities will then be put into the dwg outside of the block. This causes crazy lag if you need to explode multiple blocks. This requires you to use the DEPARAMETRIZE command before you explode, but this also removes the imported fields inside the blocks. Not ideal. I also do not like how when you copy and paste an entity inside of a block that is tied to a visibility, it copies and pastes that visibility again. (Because you can have more than one visibility inside of a block... cool idea, but now I see why AutoCAD doesn't allow it) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The price of AutoCAD is crazy high, so we went to BricsCAD which as a daily user (excluding parametric block creation), is the same. So, it saves us buckets of cash year after year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a bit heavy: if you want to do just a quick change it might take more time to load GIMP than really doing the job.

Unfortunately Shapr3D have resorted to shady, scummy business practices in an attempt to overcharge and borderline scam customers. Their extremely confusing UI for adding more seats to your subscription leads you to add more than you actually wanted. Then when you try to remove an erroneously added seat, you can't. You must email support. Then when you email support they will claim and gaslight you by saying that you can remove seats by following the documentation. Only the documentation they send you doesn't contain anything about removing seats, because you can't. So they are trying all the usual tricks around playing dumb and time wasting in the hope that you will just give up and keep paying for seats you don't need. It's disgusting and taints an otherwise great product.

If I can add seats to my plan through the website. I should be able to remove seats on the website. If you can't keep ahold of customers without these disgusting business practices, you never deserved the customers in the first place.

Software wise, it can quite easily be overwhelmed performance and optimisation wise. Using the pattern tool to create a grid of hexagons for example, trying to move them around even with a top spec PC is challenging. I get the occaisional crash. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
