The onboarding process was a little overwhelming at first, with so many new terms and processes to follow - A simplified UI would be great for beginners, adding in as you go and find what you need to, rather than all at once. I suppose the intent is for professional accounts to be using it, and not run-of-the-mill builders or tradesmen like myself. It's solving folders full of receipts dating back 5 years, having to keep hold of the physical sheets in all weathers, losing them in the wind or to the rain, keeping them in your warm back pocket and the text vanishing etc - Jump on the app on your phone, take a photo as soon as you get it, and either reconcile at home or let the AI auto reconcile for you if it's a regular location. Best part is, if it's not a regular location, it'll just ask you instead to confirm!

It's saving me hours, maybe days, of accounting work at the end of a VAT period or financial year (well... both actually) and I can't fault it. I'm talking 80% time reduction, and thus cost. I see lag time when trying to load large lists. For example, list of recent vendors... it takes time for all the options to load, and being web-based if you have a slower connection, it really takes longer than server based.

It’s modern and flows so much better than 300. Paying bills is a breeze, and cutting checks is much easier too—fewer clicks, with a process that finally makes logical sense. The ability to upload an attachment is really helpful because when you search the payable, you can see the backup instantly. I also like that the payable header includes an attractive banner showing how it was paid, when it was paid, and the trace #.

I also like how reconciliations flow. Once you click and “match” an item, you can filter it out so it’s no longer an option. This has saved hours of searching for a single transaction, since you can search by payee, method of payment, or transaction amount.

Reporting was always an issue in Sage 300. Here, you can pretty much create any report you want as long as the dimensions are available. There are some loopholes, the process can be even more smooth with adding some missing features. the setups for terms are vague. reports don’t work the way they should and they are not very easy to customize so we need to relay on saved searches. After moving from Sage300, I’ve found NetSuite very easy to use thanks to its better UI and the fact that it’s more forgiving when mistakes happen. There’s also an easy audit trail for auditors, which makes reviews and follow-ups more straightforward. Reports can be downloaded in Excel, and it’s easy to upload supporting documents. One thing I dislike about QuickBooks Online is that certain features can be hard to navigate, especially when I’m dealing with more complex accounting tasks like correcting transactions or reconciling accounts. I’ve also found that some reports take extra customization before they show the exact information I need. On top of that, the subscription costs can add up as the business grows. Zapium helps convert service information into structured sales action. Instead of depending only on memory, calls, or scattered notes, I can refer to actual service records and inspection observations while following up with customers. The biggest issue we had was with the old app; it didn’t function as well as the new one. We ran into problems in the field when trying to load it, which meant staff often had to fill out completion notes later. The new app is much better, and staff can add all notes in real time. This saves them from having to think back and remember every detail afterward, and it leads to more accurate documentation. We also had an issue with the global search being too broad, without the ability to filter out things we weren’t looking for, but that has been fixed as well. PM documentation is the biggest benefit. We didn’t track PMs the way we do now, and it’s likely saving us a lot of money. Some things in Acumatica take more steps than they really should, and troubleshooting errors can be frustrating when the messages aren’t clear. We’ve also run into situations where something works in the browser but not in the mobile app, which makes the experience feel inconsistent. Our sales rep made promises that were not kept. We were promised a GL file that fully integrated into our ERP system which we still do not have. Our auto approvals are not working properly yet. Paycom is making the review process much easier. The form is fast and easy to complete so we are getting better participation from employees on their self reviews. In our short time as a customer, we’ve raised potential roadblocks with our CS team, who bring them back to their development team, and within weeks we’ve seen a new feature roll out that addresses our need. When we’re working with large volumes of data, we sometimes notice that Mekari Jurnal takes a bit longer to process certain tasks. This is most noticeable when we’re handling a high number of transactions or reviewing extensive financial records. Even so, the system generally stays stable throughout, which matters a lot for our day-to-day accounting work. We’re still able to manage our financial information without major disruptions, even when the dataset is larger.

There isn’t much I dislike about FloQast; it really is amazing. If I had to call out one thing, it would be that we seem to run into bugs almost monthly. For example, we’ll sometimes get an error when we try to refresh a page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

DualEntry has no native CRA-compliant tax templates for Canadian corporate filings, forcing us to export ledgers and manually adjust figures for T2 tax returns. It does not support guaranteed Canada-based data residency, creating PIPEDA compliance risks when storing sensitive client financial records. Native integrations with popular Canadian tax-prep tools are missing, and their support team has limited practical understanding of Canadian tax-code requirements. Since it lacks Entra-ID single sign-on, we manage team access separately. We still manually cross-check outputs to meet CRA reporting and PIPEDA requirements. Compliance-related configuration was a challenge with no built-in Canadian-tax-specific settings, necessitating custom internal workflows for CRA reporting and PIPEDA client-data safeguards.
