What do you like best about FloQast?

In 2023, we implemented FloQast to streamline our month-end close process. The checklist feature has been invaluable for ensuring organization and task completion, eliminating the manual oversight needed with our previous Excel-based approach. FloQast’s task assignment and automated reminders have lightened management’s workload, while its balance sheet reconciliation tool, which syncs with our ERP’s trial balance, has reduced errors and prevented potential audit issues by notifying preparers and reviewers of discrepancies.

Approximately a year after adopting FloQast for closing, we transitioned our SOX compliance system from AuditBoard to FloQast Compliance. Initially hesitant, we worked closely with the FloQast team, who refined the compliance tool based on our and our auditors’ feedback. After these enhancements, we received approval from our auditors to proceed with FloQast Compliance. Though still in the early stages of our first audit cycle, we’re pleased with its performance. While there’s a learning curve after 10 years with AuditBoard, FloQast Compliance has proven functional and reliable, with a responsive team that addresses enhancement requests effectively. What do you dislike about FloQast?

There are minor enhancement requests we have submitted for FloQast compliance: adding filters to some of the compliance screens; being able to link narratives and controls across different audit projects (corp controls vs IT controls, for example). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

FloQast has introduced substantial efficiencies to our close process by providing real-time visibility into status updates, enhancing collaboration between our finance and accounting departments. In a remote work environment, this functionality has been particularly beneficial in helping our team stay aligned. What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

I dislike how long it initially takes to get to the needed pages. Having to open multiple tabs makes searching easier and cuts down on the amount of time I spend waiting for the page to load. It would be easier for me if everything I needed to do with one invoice could be done from the same page. I frequently have to refund invoices, and this can't be done from Intacct. I have to go to Intacct to find the information and take it to Braintree (both EFT and CC versions). There's about a week's waiting period for everything to process and sync; then I have to use Intacct to verse on one page and reprocess on another. It isn't very easy to learn at first either. Since there are so many back and forth steps, a lot of manual fixes, one thing at a time, it takes a lot of patience and asking questions. It helps me find copies of invoices for customers and reverse and reprocess invoices. All of these tasks help the customer get invoices paid and make sure the right customer is paying. What do you like best about LiveFlow?

LiveFlow is the product we've been dreaming of! It gives us the ability to share current, accurate financials with key players without the need to login or even have access to our accounting software.

We can show a consolidated view of all companies in our portfolio even though each has a separate QuickBooks company. I also love that we can group any companies together into individual workspaces to customize reports for each unique leader. It also allows custom reporting to show uniquely selected pieces of the GL. Furthermore, being able to drill into the numbers to see the data and seamlessly click into QuickBooks if necessary is incredibly helpful!

The onboarding process was fantastic as well. High level of support and follow up. They even had a member of the dev team join to learn ways they may be able to increase value and meet the needs of their customers. What do you like best about Vena?

To be honest, we were so disappointed that it’s hard for me to find anything positive to say. I guess the team was very nice and tried its best, but I feel sorry for them having to deal with such a clunky product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

After a nine month implementation, we ultimately decided to stop the process after spending countless hours on it. Vena’s models are extremely rigid and couldn’t accommodate our needs and requirements. Instead, they asked us to lower our expectations because the product simply couldn’t deliver.

On top of that, they failed to integrate with our ERP, despite claiming that "dozens of users are already using it."

I’m furious about the time and money we wasted on this failed process, not to mention an entire year that was completely lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetSuite?

The system has so many functions available, the reports are amazing and we have only yet begun to discover all that is out there. What do you dislike about NetSuite?

This system is too expansive for our company, it has been difficult to see all that is out there. We used QuickBooks in the past and that was very user friendly. There is always a learning curve with software changes but this one is especially large. SuiteAnswers is helpful about half of the time and then I need to create a case for online support.

I don't like that there is so much customization in everything and I need assistance as I do not understand "code". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?

NetSuite has made many things faster and easier for our company. Our inventory manager does item fulfilling with our scanner and this allows him to be paperless with recording serial numbers. When these sales orders come back to the office, they are already fulfilled so it is just one click to bill out/invoice. There are functions that I have been using to assist me with keeping current with inventory, such as the "item alerts" with the Item360 Dashboard portlet. What do you like best about Drivetrain?

My overall experience with Drivetrain has been great. The tool is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Producing new reports is seamless and user friendly. The implementation took ~ 3 months and was quite smooth. The DT implementation team made sure that the platform was up and running in time for our planning cycle. Additionally, Rohit who lead the implementation, has been incredibly responsive, collaborative, and made sure that the tool met our needs. What do you like best about Mosaic Tech?

Real=time updates make dashboarding and reporting quite simple. Once the reports are set up, it's pretty easy to adjust time periods to create new versions.

The modeling and forecasting is similarly pretty straightforward, and robust enough for most use cases. For example, it's pretty simple to work from an existing expense line item and forecast it forward using any number of formulaic approaches (flat, grow by x%, grow based on some other metric like headcount, etc.). What do you dislike about Mosaic Tech?

There is definitely a learning curve with regards to creating formulas and linking the elements of a financial model. What do you like best about G-Accon?

we implemented G-accon in our finance team this year. We use Xero as our accounting system, but have multiple ledgers and the standard reporting didn't meet our needs.

We had built reports in excel that required a TB export each month and was fairly manual. This process was cumbersome and could take hours if not days to finalise reports, particularly as some of our key month end data comes in towards the end of the cut off date for reporting.

With G-accon + Xero + Google sheets, our reports can be re-run if needed and will be updated within seconds. This gives our lean finance team, precious hours bck in the day to focus on supporting the management team.

Apliqo is built from its foundations with the end user experience in mind. It offers an intuitive interface, place on top of any type of business problem for planning and reporting.

It can integrate Excel input in the same front end, so end users can decide if they want to prepare data outside of the web-front end and load their results, or work directly in the tool. This combination allows users the freedom they need and desire to work in a way that suits them best.

We mainly use Apliqo (both UX and FPM) for internal reporting. We use it for our day-to-day timesheets, our (financial) month end close, dashboarding and reporting.

The operational model is tracking our projects on a day-to-day basis, provinding an overview of budgets-to-date, time spent (hours/days), expenses tracking. Our users are entering information on a daily basis.

For the financial closing we are currently utilising the P&L/Balance sheet reporting layer across our region, based on input from various countries, coming from different data sources (accounting systems).

What do you dislike about Anaplan?

Anaplan's pricing can be confusing and opaque. This is due to an evolving platform, technology, and GTM model. Customers from just 3 years ago may have completely different expectations on pricing and that can cause friction. However, the GTM model had to change - the platform, which did not drastically change from 2014-2022, has received an incredible overhaul in terms of technical functionality, and old pricing models did no capture that at all. What problems is Anaplan solving and how is that benefiting you?

I will specifically answer this question regarding the territory and quota (T&Q) use case. T&Q represents a widespread, needed-everywhere planning problem but it doesn't have any of its own big software players. The reason is that Anaplan is so well-suited to the use case, that you'd waste your time trying to create a bespoke competitor. And Anaplan's offering is only strengthening.

T&Q has the hallmarks needs of planning: nuanced, many disparate data sets, very large data sets, operational and financial considerations, many distributed stakeholders, and consistent collaboration. Anaplan checks each of those boxes an we see it at our customers. Our customers tell us they love a prescriptive approach that they still can own (the new T&Q app comes out of the box), where they can merge what they love about their current process with the best-in-class they need. These streamlined T&Q apps help our customers create fairer territories with better account scoring, build better quotas to set the right incentives and reach the right attainment curve, and do it all significantly faster. The ease of use and implementation allowed my company to drop Velixo in seamlessly and use it to boost our reporting capabilities tremendously. The ability to write back to the GL has streamlined our monthly close process on the accounting side as well. As a Director of FP&A in my company I also heavily rely on Velixo to set up our reporting templates to quickly provide real time financials, while also uploading my budgets. Variance analysis has never been easier - can avoid the excel hassle of huge lookups.The Velixo team is also extremely responsive to questions and support with new product updates that make it a quick and easy process. What do you like best about XoroERP?

We shopped ERP solutions for ~1 year, and Xoro came out on top. Throughout the sales process, they had every solution we needed. We are an eComm brand that purchases components and assembled our own goods. We have multiple layers of bundling of components, goods, and packaging. We also have our own warehouse operation. Xoro has been awesome for helping us get all of this under control.

So far, everything that their sales team sold us on has been followed through on, which is rare in the SaaS space. Our implementation manager, Moh, has been a pleasure to work with.

The implementation has taken quite a while, though that is a mix of the complexity of operation and amount of resources that go into it.

We like both the depth of features across the varied modules and the flexibility of the platform to be extended/modified. We also like the partner-based model, as that is what we have had for years with Dynamics SL. With our extensive SL experience, we have found our implementation of Acumatica to be easier than we expected.

Overall, we do have significant complaints about Acumatica. I would say we would like to see more low-code/no-code workflow capabilities across the platform. We are leveraging Acumatica to be our primary accounting system as well as a basis for our operational client billing and management sytem in the Home Care industry. We are using the Field Service components along side of the project accounting aspects plus we are significantly extending the product with the Acumatica development platform. What do you like best about Rillet?

Firstly, Rillet's implementation team is top-notch, stacked with finance and accounting experience, and ensures an incredibly smooth onboarding. Secondly, the platform is intuitive and helps to automate several key workflows to allow finance teams to become more strategic and have confidence that their underlying ERP data is accurate. The contract-to-cash workflow, deferred revenue automation, and prepaid expense automation alone save us so much time and make this tool pay for itself. What do you dislike about Rillet?

What do you like best about Kosh.ai?

Prior to Kosh, we were manually reconciling finance transactions. Given our scale of operations, it was quite a tedious task. Using Kosh we have completely automated the reconciliation process but have also improved the other related workflows. The platform is quite configurable. Our company facilitates peer-to-peer lending and we are perhaps the largest in the country. So naturally we handle a large number of transactions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. This leads to a lot of data being generated. To manage and reconcile this data, we are using Kosh. What do you like best about Campfire?

Switching to Campfire from Netsuite has been an absolute game-changer. As a CFO running a multi-currency, multi-legal entity operation, I’ve dealt with clunky, frustrating accounting software before. Campfire? A totally different story.

This platform is a dream—it’s intuitive, fast, and actually fun to use. I used to dread logging into my old system, but now? I look forward to it. Campfire helps us get more done with fewer headaches, and that’s everything in today’s “do-more-with-less” world.

Even better, Campfire is a new player in the space, and they’re already shaking things up. They’re releasing new features weekly (seriously, the pace is wild), and the product road map has me genuinely excited for what’s next. It’s clear they’re building this for the long haul, and I’m here for it.

Shoutout to Justin from customer success—this guy is a rockstar! His support is so good it makes other companies’ “white-glove service” look like amateur hour. Whether it’s the migration (they did everything for me!) , setup, or random questions, he’s been there every step of the way.

Zoho Books has an easy to use interface, across web and mobile apps. Transactions are easy to create, edit and send to customers, suppliers and other users. Portals are super helpful for our customers and suppliers to view their transactions with us, as well as add or update their details and add credit cards and/or direct debits. What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

Bank feeds are through Yodlee for Australian users - this can take up to a week to fetch new transactions, or, have to be manually refreshed with accounts protected by 2FA. This is an issue I have raised with our bank and Zoho, but seems to be taking longer than expected to resolve. This issue isn't the wort to have, just inconvenient at times. Zoho Books helped us move away from Xero, which as helped us integrate with a solid suite of apps to help us deliver products directly to our customers.
