My role in the accounts payable process - processing bills.

One problem is our billing software does not allow us to process multi-currency bills (Ex: Base currency of entity - USD, vendor bill currency - EUR) accurately, which Sage intacct through its multi-currency billing feature allows me to process bills with the live exchange rates based on the bill dates. The only thing that Novi does not currently do that we want is facility member-to-member communications. It does connect to other platforms that do that, so it's not a huge issue.

Novi did not have all the bells and whistles that we wanted when we started with them a few years ago, but they've been very responsive to feedback and requests, and have added many new features that we've requested. Novi serves as an information hub for us to track our members (database), but also for our members to participate in the association(website). It's the central focus of our operations and activity. Many other SaaS platforms that we use connect or integrate with Novi in some way, and the two synch to Quickbooks Online saves us a huge amount of time by eliminating the need to export/import transactions and then have to reconcile them.

Note on the price: Novi is not the cheapest platform, and it shows. It has been well worth the cost to get the quality customer support and a system that works this well. There are far more expensive systems out there that are not half as good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Expense report approval is automated. *IF* the credit card data is syncing, it makes it easier. If it is not, it gives notice to users that anything is wrong -and simply disconnects the credit card feed! Our company facilitates peer-to-peer lending and we are perhaps the largest in the country. So naturally we handle a large number of transactions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. This leads to a lot of data being generated. To manage and reconcile this data, we are using Kosh. To keep tabs on company money, send out invoices, and manage our bookkeeping, we utilize FreshBooks. Because of it, we have been able to automate time-consuming and error-prone tasks like repeating invoicing and tracking overdue payments. We are now better able to see the company's financial health and make strategic decisions thanks to the transparency of financial reporting. Overall, we do have significant complaints about Acumatica. I would say we would like to see more low-code/no-code workflow capabilities across the platform. We are leveraging Acumatica to be our primary accounting system as well as a basis for our operational client billing and management sytem in the Home Care industry. We are using the Field Service components along side of the project accounting aspects plus we are significantly extending the product with the Acumatica development platform. With ClearBooks the Accounting & Bookkeeping process has become much simpler and chances of errors have reduced significantly. As a small business owner, with ClearBooks installed in my business I can now focus on the core business operations while leaving the accounting function on it. Overall, our experience has been positive, but we’ve run into some occasional UX delays. We’re used to getting data instantly, so any delays can be a bit frustrating. This might be due to the heavy calculations happening in the backend, especially with our transaction volume. Still, it’s a minor issue compared to the great support we’ve had. The mobile app doesn't yet support businesses which have multiple currency transactions. This is something they're aware of and are working on. I've been using this for 9 years, new features are far between. I wish there were more external integrations, as well as a visual editor to produce custom styled invoices. Try it, you'll love it. Even if you're not well versed in accounting, the layout makes for easy management of your business accounting. For more complicated entries, I've simply relied on a quick call to an accounting firm and took care of the entry. So even more complex entries are well handled. Since though the Finance department is very demanding on the way results are displayed and with the amount of info they can get from a single screen its a common dislike across many platforms besides Classter. One of the biggest headaches with our old system was that a single customer could have only one ship-to address.
