Painfully slow Customer Service and broken features

Onbording program is non existent, although its reasonably intuitive to work it all out if you have a few hours to spare. That said there are a lot of features/options/settings to consider, and so many areas to access, its easy to miss or forget stuff, especially when you are running lots of campaigns.

The reports on usage are a complete waste of time, as the numbers don't stack up. Im on a 25k of email credits per month. and Ive only used 9.8k but ran out again ??? - same every month, and the customer support is so painfully slow on chat only - no phone numbers. So you get a short reply from one of their team, then you respond and have to wait another 4 hours to get the next communication. It drives you mental.

The other thing that I hate is that stuff just disappears. I saved a search twice the other day and its disappeared both times.

Instantly - Sort this out FFS - you could have an amazing business. I want to scale my company with you, but you scare the hell of me with these issues.

Hubspot can be very rigid as it’s clear things are intended to work within the Hubspot ecosystem. However with SF as our primary crm and our sales reps working out of outreach, our data feels more disjointed than it should but really it’s using the data that’s a pain. The sf campaign object worked in Hubspot to some extent, I can add to a campaign as a specific status but I can’t use that status as a field in a list of example. At best it forces me to redo work to mirror what we have built in another tool, at worst I have to export and import and other manual processes.

There are a lot of functionality that is half baked and can be used in some places but not othered. Property value changes work as a workflow entry method but I can’t use that same logic on a list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Effective segmentation and ability to engage our prospects. Previously we were using Marketo and my company was hiring jr level marketers. What I've just discovered is that ConstantContact pricing automatically ratchets UP but not down. My client had a list of approximately 5500 recipients of which over 800 had unsubscribed. They nevertheless remained in the 5000-7500 pricing tier for many months, and it took a lot of time on a support call to learn that I had to locate unsubscribed contacts, export them for backup, delete them and then request a "courtesy tier floor reset" to go from $157 down to $119/month. If you don't pay attention, you will pay far more than you're using. For seasonal users (e.g. once-a-year, every other year, etc) you really should request a "suspended account" immediately after your use. With this, you retain access to all historical lists and mailings, but nothing can be sent until you return to normal use. This changes your monthly billing to $10/month for whatever period of time you're not using the account. Customer Support is tedious and I was unable to use chat because of the automated AI-answers. We’ve just started using ActiveCampaign and were shocked to realise it lacks a basic feature every proper CRM has. I'm writing this so that anyone switching can not make the same mistake as us. what they dont allow is a lookup feild or a custom lookup field to link one contact to another.

This is STOCK STANDARD / OEM in platforms like Zoho CRM, HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and even Freshsales.

Use cases like having an authorised representative, a next of kin, a carer, a spouse, a broker managing clients, referred clients, referral source... or linking anyone to any one, which i cant think of a business that won't use this functionality which is why the others have it innately built in.

You can't create a field that points to another contact, which makes ActiveCampaign feel like an email tool pretending to have CRM features.

This one missing feature is now seriously limiting how we can use the platform and we’re reconsidering whether it’s viable for us long-term.

ActiveCampaign is helping us automate our marketing and onboarding workflows without needing to hire a consultant or agency. The UI is intuitive enough that we were able to start building fairly sophisticated automations straight away, which is a huge benefit compared to platforms that require technical support just to get started. It’s definitely strong on the email and automation side.

Insider's panel show's real time results and data from each campaign. However, the data is a bit hard to understand without further information or explanation on the panel. Most of the time we rely on the consultant to help us understand where the numbers coming from. We wanted to increase and improve the traffic and its quality coming into our website. We also needed solutions to help us increase the exposure for our marketing campaigns and better user engagement. Insider’s web push solved the problem of traffic for us, and their onsite templates like the banner overlay and spinning wheel solved the problem of improving user engagement and retention. The theme is automatically set by the system's default. Although I use the dark theme for almost everything, I don't find Apollo's theme pleasant, and it was difficult to search for it in the settings to change it. Counterintuitively, this option is not in the settings, but appears when you click on your name (bottom left corner).

Something more specific: Brazil has specific regulations for obtaining a phone number. This is the second company I work for, and when requesting the number, a form opens for sending documents from the company I work for. Apollo helps me in two scenarios:

1) When I'm actively prospecting, it allows me to get contacts (email and phone) directly from the person's LinkedIn profile.

2) When dealing with inbounds, I have specific sequences for each ICP and I can add prospects to each of these sequences directly through the plugin, without having to switch to another window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ALT Text descriptions: In my previous provider, ALT text was added once every time I uploaded an image to my site - then it was re-used every time I used the image somewhere else on my site. In Systeme, this needs to be manually added every time the image is used, so takes a bit of time (especially when course title tiles are re-used over various pages). I am hoping Systeme will prioritise fixing this as the EU Accessibility Directive comes into force in June 2025 and every website will have to have ALT text on all images. It would be especially good if any alt-text I have already written for an image gets automatically added to the file.

I have an automated email sequence with my current mailing list provider. This is copied over to Systeme but only for new subscribers. I have to wait for my current subscribers to finish the sequence with my old provder before fully switching to systeme. A bit complex and there is probably another workaroun - if I had time to create a whole new sequence, but this was a little frustrating. I now only need to pay for Systeme rather than my domain, host, website builder and email marketing. I haven't familiarised myself with this feature yet so can't really comment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish there was a simpler way to send a campaign to a single user without having to create a segment. (maybe that exists but I haven't found that yet).

Brevo helps us centralize our email marketing workflows into one simple platform. As of now, I honestly haven't found any significant cons of EngageBay. The platform has met all my needs, and I haven't experienced any major issues or limitations. Unfortunately there's no way to find out if the email ended up in a spam folder. I'm surprised that you get a e.g. 30% open rate, because even when you click on the email to delete without reading, it would be marked as read.

There's two things that Mailchimp make me benefit from

1. Avoiding my company's to be blacklisted as "spammer" by sending thousands of emails from the same email address and IP address

2. The Analytics of the Performance of your campaigns which are great and very helpful to make you understand the results of your campaigns Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Honestly, there's very little to criticize. If I could suggest anything, it would be to improve the UI navigation slightly - making some features even easier to find. Also, having a short onboarding video for first-time users could enhance the learning curve. But overall, these are just minor points that don't affect the experience significantly. The very disliking part of this software is its hard to share lists emails reports etc between multiple business units visual editor in emails is glitch and has a lot of the technical issues. earlier we used to relay completely on the old email technique of sending campaign via google which involves in great manpower and hardware equipment which is now made simpler with this single software we have reduced hours of the manual work as in this software we can customize our mail campaign and that's all everything software will take care. The only thing that i disliked when i came to mailscale is when it comes to trying to downgrade to a different plan. I was on the agency plan and was planning on going to the enterprise plan very soon. I accidently clicked upgrade and didn't have the option to downgrade, but then shortly after i reached out to their support team and they was able to get it all sorted out!
