What do you like best about checkmk?

La instalación y actualizaciones son bastante fáciles incluso las actualizaciones major es un proceso bastante rápido.

Es muy fácil monitorizar todo tipo de servidores ya sean con agente o con snmp, special agent, etc.

Hay muchas integraciones con otras herramientas que facilitan o bien la importación de métricas (por ejemplo, prometheus) o bien la exportación de métricas (por ejemplo influxdb+grafana). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about checkmk?

Una cosa que no me gustó fue que en la versión 2.2 no se pusiera la integración de Openshift ya que sólo estaba disponible para la versión cloud. Pero he visto que para la 2.3 sí estará disponible. Lo comento simplemente para que sepáis que actualmente estamos en 2.2 y no podemos monitorizar nuestros clusters openshift y nuestro cliente estaba un poco mosqueado por el tema ya que se había anunciado (sin matices) que en la verisón 2.2 se soportaría openshift.

Sólo para custom graph, creo que se podría mejorar el tema de las gráficas para que sea más visuales como lo son en Grafana y que puedan ser dinámicas. Por ejemplo si haces un custom graph de la CPU de varios servidores, que puedas pinchar en un servidor y sólo te muestre su gráfica o pinchas en varios y muestra varias. What do you like best about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

Applications Manager supports a vast range of application technologies, starting from the infrastructure bare metal servers where VMWare, Hyper-V, Oracle and other virtualization technologies are supported, to servers like Windows, Linux, to the application servers, databases, web servers. All these have readily available templates that simplify integration when on boarding the systems for monitoring.

Support for the full stack simplifies root cause analysis for an application with a distributed architecture since all attributes are being monitored. And with the multiple alert features where you can even have proactive actions, monitoring is simplified.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

Lack of support in monitoring ATM instances. ATMs are hard to monitor since there are hardly enough provisions and many independent players who dont usually share details on how best to monitor aspects like cash trays, incase they jam. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ManageEngine Applications Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Applications Manager provides a single pane to have full stack observability of the business environment. It supports all attributes monitoring from the virtualized infrastructure on which the applications are installed, to the application components themselves like app servers, web servers, databases upto the end user experience itself.

This gives us full visibility of the performance of our applications and incase of an unexpected occurence, you immediately get alerted with the vast option of alerts starting from emails, SMSes, tickets in helpdesk systems and this can expediate the troubleshooting process. What do you like best about Splunk Enterprise?

It is easier to write SPL queries than SQL, and you can create your own custom Splunk commands where you can write your own Python scripts to handle complex data types like JSON, which has a nested level of 3 or 4. It is easy to create visualizations and get insights out of the data through commands like charts, stats, etc. It has a vast level of customer support, and when the developer or the user gets stuck, it has great documentation to resolve the issue. The resources splunk software takes when it handles a complex query makes you crazy and it has everything a developer needs, but when it comes to the licensing, it is a bit costly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Splunk Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?

The business problem that Splunk solved was creating a custom visualization using Java scripts for rendering a train track, like the current movement of the train on the map or track layout, and also the custom filters that are created with the help of Javascript. The feature i like most are the pie charts and maps, they are very easy to read and you can glance at them to get a lot of info on my data.
