Automated Testing Software

Typically, Automated Testing is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Automated Testing Software.

Automated testing software can refer to a few different components of application development and maintenance. Software testing products give teams the ability to evaluate software performance, usability, and functionality. Teammates can utilize the feedback to add additional functionality and make necessary changes. Test automation tools are a component of the development process that monitors application performance and assists users in tracking bugs. Continuous integration software will also provide similar software testing abilities but focuses on specific continuous delivery and build automation practices. These products allow administrators to constantly test new additions and changes to source code during the continuous delivery process.

“Good Browser testing that works almost always”
What do you like best about BrowserStack?

I like that I can pick from large list of device and browser combinations to test my web app. It's super fast and quick to load even the older OS and browser combinations which is interesting.

We also use it in our end-to-end testing framework which allows us to perform those tests quickly and cover more device & browser combinations.

From what I've heard from my devs/QA, it was pretty easy to integrate Browserstack woth our current testing framework.

Customer support is adequate - I got help in a timely manner which is a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BrowserStack?

You cannot affectively use the camera on Browserstack devices. For my applications, I frequently have to test if the camera/microphone is working correctly. Most of the times I can not use the camer and some parts of my testing are not complete. They should figure out a way to give me access to the device's real camera. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BrowserStack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Identifying Browser & OS Compatibility issues: I use Browserstack to check and validate any potential issues when my web-app is used across different combinations of browsers and OSes.

Debugging one-off issues: When a customer reaches out saying something specific is not working on their phone/laptop, Browserstack is the first palce we go to check and reproduce the issue. Once reproducted, the debugging tools allow us to find the exact issue and help resolve it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Comprehensive Testing with Room for Improvement”
What do you like best about LambdaTest?

I appreciate LambdaTest’s feature set for desktop testing, including Responsive Testing, Network Throttling, Screenshot Testing, and IP Geolocation, which make cross-browser testing straightforward and efficient. The Ease of Use and Developer Tools are great for quickly debugging issues, and the Ease of Integration with tools like Selenium adds to its versatility. The responsive Customer Support is also a huge plus, addressing questions and issues promptly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LambdaTest?

I did encounter some challenges, particularly on mobile. Apple Pay Support and GPS Location were unavailable, limiting certain testing scenarios. Switching between mobile browsers felt cumbersome, and I experienced URL loss on iPhone when switching between browsers, which disrupted workflow. Additionally, I received an error message when trying to Mark as Bug due to a credential issue, which impacted efficiency. Finally, local testing didn’t activate in desktop mode as expected, which was a setback for some tests. Overall, LambdaTest offers powerful features for comprehensive testing, but addressing these mobile-specific and bug creation issues would make it an even stronger tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LambdaTest solving and how is that benefiting you?

I like that LambdaTest has the ability to run tests on real devices, emulate various network conditions, and mimic geographic locations. It helps improving testing accuracy, and helps ensure a higher-quality product for the end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Launch Darkly is a great service to toggle any feature”
What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?

1. It's a great tool for toggling features.

2. You can easily roll out or block a feature for specific customers without any hassle.

3. I use it daily, and it works smoothly with minimal impact on API latency.

4. Setting up a new LD flag takes only a minute.

5. It provides a rich SDK to integrate with Launch Darkly easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?

Nothing as such. Segments and Release features can be simplified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'd point out two major problems that LD solves for my case,

1. We don't need to think about beta release to a small portion of customers. Just need to put the feature behind LD flag and control the flag from LD dashboard. That's it.

2. When we launch a new feature, we always put that feature behind LD flags. So that if something goes wrong, we don't need rollback anything in a hurry. Just toggle the LD flag by a single click. That would do the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“The most comfortable version control I have ever used”
What do you like best about GitHub?

I have been using it for more than 3 years, it is practical, it has all the necessary features to make me feel comfortable, it is easy to use and safe with the projects I manage. As for customer support, I have used it and have had good results. Once I had problems with my git actions and they helped me solve it and also gave me guidelines to use it in the best way.

I have implemented it in the desktop and web versions and added it to IDEs that I have worked with, such as visual code or android studio.

My frequency of use is daily, I keep my projects there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

I don't like that in the web version when I merge with another branch the changes are passed to both branches, this is usually counterproductive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitHub solving and how is that benefiting you?

“De-facto standard for Code Repository”
What do you like best about GitLab?

One of the things I love most about GitLab is how it brings everything together under one roof. You've got your version control, CI/CD pipelines, linters, code review (50% of the time is devoted to reviewing MRs), issue tracking – almost everything required it's there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitLab?

First of all, I am as a User frustated with searching capabilities of GitLab. For instance, when I am searching for snippet of code across tens of projects, it can't provide easy yet effective searching mechanism. Also, there is a bit of learning curve in terms of user interface, so it might be an obstacle for newcomers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitLab solving and how is that benefiting you?

Majority of my work time is devoted to code review, therefore it's paramount to have a platform to review the MRs in easy and accessable way for me, especially when code changes affecting several classes/items. With GitLab, it's super easy to request reviews, leave comments, and collaborate with your teammates. GitLab's CI/CD pipelines are also one of the benefits of using GitLab - you just push your code to your branch, and everything else is automated (except for the bugs - this is on your side). “Nice testing tool”
What do you like best about Tuskr?

If you work with repeating test runs (e.g. testing a specific tool once every 3 month) Tuskr serves a perfect base,

where you're able to set up your own library of test cases which then can be collected to individual test runs.

Which makes it quite helpful tool, as you do not have to enter the test cases every time completely new.

Also you're able to attach screenshot and comments, within one test case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tuskr?

To imporve, the inactive time till Tuskr logs you out it way too short. If you have test cases which take like 45min to test then you already have to newly log-in and with the 2-factor-authentication this can get annoying.

Also it would be helpful to export the "Spent Time" values per test case.

Another point which could be improved, is the editing of test cases. If you have to edit a test case, where you detect a mistake in the run, you basically have to edit it in the run and in the library, in order to be prepared for future runs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tuskr solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tuskr for us did replace a shared excel file; further with the possiblity to attach screenshots and comments within one test case was very benificial for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Bitrise is a time saver when it comes to CI/CD”
What do you like best about Bitrise?

The best thing is that you have the option to choose how you want to work with Bitrise, manage your own runner instances and connect them to the platform or just forget about the infrascture setup and let Bitrise do all the heavy lifting.

When it comes to user experience, UI and ease of use, I have to say, it's definitely by far the best tool you can pick for your CI/CD workflow. You can get up-and-running in a matter of minutes and just play around with the workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bitrise?

After using it for a couple of years now, the only thing that comes to mind is not having a history of changes for your workflows (if using the hosted yml file) option. Sure, you can always add the configuration file to your own repo, but in that case it can be a bit tiresome to update workflows, copy/paste the configuration into your yml file and pushing the changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bitrise solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bitrise is doing all the heavy lifting around making builds of our Android app, based on set triggers. Currently we have a couple of types of builds and conditions set when they need to be run, and Bitrise works like a charm. Not to mention actually pushing the builds to Firebase App Distribution for QA testing and finally creating releases on Google Play. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our experience with QA Wolf has been really positive. During the pilot, the team was able to understand our business quickly and worked closely with us to define various test cases to support a variety of use cases and product offerings. As the pilot closed and we expanded our usage, the QA Wolf team helped us set up tests for accessibility and load testing, unlocking whole new "classes" of quality testing that weren't available to us before without a significant investment in infrastructure and headcount. - TestFirst is very easy to use compared to other tools available now.

- Annotation feature is an excellent feature, as we can annotate screenshots at the time of execution itself

-Exploratory Feature helps the tester to write test cases while running the test. It saves us a lot of time.

“Postman, a user-friendly approach of testing APIs”
What do you like best about Postman?

There are certain features in Postman that look really good to me : 1.) Response formatting (can format the API response in JSON etc.) 2.) Environment setup (I can create and switch to a new environment which is very helpful to test the API response either in Quality or Production) 3.) I can easily get the code snippets for the provided API integration in the desired coding language, which is very helpful and time saving. 4.) I can also create my team, where all the members can perform testing simultaneously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

There is not much to dislike in Postman, but few are: 1.) I can add only limited member in a team with a basic/free plan. 2.) Sometimes, I get 429 for repeated API calls. 3.) Sometimes I also feel like Postman should also allow the user to manage workspace as code blocks rather limiting it to endpoints only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

It provides various features that solve common problems faced during API development and interaction:

1.) Simplifies API Testing and Debugging : Simplifies API testing by providing a visual interface for interacting with APIs, making it easy for developers and testers to debug requests and responses.

2.) Collaborative API Development : Increases productivity by providing a shared environment for developers, testers, and stakeholders to collaborate on APIs.

3.) Comprehensive API Documentation : Saves time by generating real-time documentation and provides a clear reference for developers using or consuming the API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoRABIT?

While AutoRABIT is feature-rich, the initial setup and implementation can be somewhat complex, especially for organizations with less technical expertise. The user interface, though functional, could benefit from a more modern and intuitive design. At times, the platform's performance can be sluggish, particularly when dealing with large data sets or complex environments using Dataloader. Lastly, the pricing might be a bit steep for smaller teams or organizations with limited budgets, making it more suitable for mid to large-sized enterprises. “A Game-Changer for Test Management with Exceptional Support”
What do you like best about Qase?

What truly distinguishes Qase.io is its exceptional customer support. Their technical team went above and beyond, providing hands-on assistance to ensure a smooth setup and seamless integration of Qase.io with our pipeline. They were especially helpful with debugging issues and offering tailored solutions to overcome the challenges we faced during the setup process, ensuring everything worked flawlessly in the end.

Another significant factor for us was the inclusion of read-only user roles. This feature made Qase.io a much more cost-effective solution compared to alternatives. Other tools suggested simply sending reports via email to stakeholders as a way to reduce costs. Were Qase.io is allowing us to grant direct, secure access to the platform without the associated cost of full-user licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Qase?

While Qase.io is an excellent tool overall, one challenge we faced was that it didn’t work out of the box with our Robot Framework in combination with CumulusCI due to conflicting dependencies. This required additional troubleshooting and configuration, unlike some other tools we’ve used, which integrated seamlessly right from the start. Qase.io could consider supporting the direct ingestion of Robot Framework's native reports, which would unlock a wider range of existing workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Easy to use CI/CD platform, with great UI and documentation, and amazing customer support”
What do you like best about Semaphore?

Semaphore is an incredibly easy to use CI/CD platform. Integrating my Ruby on Rails applications to use it is always very easy to do.

Their platform has an incredibly good looking UI, and documentation is also very well written.

What makes Semaphore stand out from the crowd however is their customer support.

At one point at my current company we had some issue with our organization management; we contacted their customer care and they literally answered our email in 2 minutes and the problem was fixed in less than 1 5 minutes.

It can't get any better than this! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semaphore?

Sometimes they are slow to update the programming language versions in their OS images.

At one point the bump of a minor Ruby version took almost a week in their Ubuntu image and we couldn't upgrade our app without having the CI with the exact same Ruby version.

Also, lately they had some sort of bug in their platform that caused you to log out from Semaphore every day, and you thus you needed to log in back every morning. That was frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Semaphore solving and how is that benefiting you?

Every sreious engineer needs a CI/CD platform nowadays, you just can't live without one. Shipping code continuosly and getting feedback from the CI every time is incredibly valuable for us developers.

I would choose Semaphore for:

- it's ease of use

- it's good looking UI

- it's amazing customer care support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Jenkins Review: Simplifying Automation and Integration”
What do you like best about Jenkins?

Jenkins is a great tool in the discipline of continuous integration and continuous delivery. It is flexible and scalable. What I like the most about Jenkins is its huge plugin ecosystem, which allows for seamless integration with various tools and platforms. This makes it very adjustable to different development environments and workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jenkins?

Though Jenkins is definitely a useful and adaptable tool, there are some parts that I find problematic. Its high level of complexity in installation and configuration is the most significant disadvantage. The newbies might be confused by numerous options and plug-ins that are available in Jenkins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Jenkins solving and how is that benefiting you?

Jenkins has played a very important role in solving several crucial challenges that are present in our SDLC mainly in the aspects of CI/CD. All of it was manual before Jenkins and we used to have many times human errors because the build and deployment was done manually, hence the release delay and an irregular build quality. Jenkins has changed this a lot by actually automating the chain and code integration and deployment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Big plus: New features are released regularly and you can feel that the Flosum team really listens to the feedback of their customers when designing their product roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Flosum?

The main downside comes not from Flosum itself, but from the architectural fact that it is in the end hosted on Salesforce platform itself, meaning that it also needs to adher all Salesforce platform limits, sometimes causing performance issues. However, solutions to these bottlenecks are already being developed afaik. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Flosum solving and how is that benefiting you?

Very heterogeneous level of knowledge across the team.

Complex, multi-org architecture and release landscape.

Faster, but also more reliable and scalable deployment processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salesforce Platform?

Probably its complexity and the steep learning curve of it. While it offers extensive features, navigagating and setting up especially for new users or small businesses/organizations. I find the interface a bit cluttered and not as intuitive as they'd like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Salesforce Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Salesforce, we've made communication and operations between our company and bus companies way more efficient. The centralized portal that we have in Salesforce means no more back-and-forth emails, and everything's tracked in one place. Plus, it provides real-time updates so there's always full transparency and accountability. It helps us manage tasks and keeps all the data organized, so we (our company, bus companies and the client) can respond faster and stay on top of requests. It reduces errors and speeds things up.
