What do you like best about Xero?

I’m a freelance full-stack developer and used to track everything in spreadsheets. After about a year with Xero, I can’t imagine going back. I use it mainly for creating and sending invoices, reconciling bank transactions, and tracking expenses.

I’ve connected Stripe and PayPal so clients can pay directly from the invoice, which has definitely sped up payments. The bank feed pulls in transactions daily, and I usually spend a few minutes matching payments and categorizing expenses like software subscriptions or hosting. What do you dislike about Xero?

Some of the accounting terms still feel a bit heavy. Setting things up the way my accountant wanted took some trial and error. Occasionally, the reconciliation suggestions aren’t perfect, especially with partial payments, so I have to double-check. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

It seems to me that Sage Intacct has many tools and functionalities. We switched to Sage Intacct because it has too many functionalities. While some things may be lacking, it makes up for it with many other functionalities and add-ons that the application has. It helps us a lot in the accounting area when it comes to recording, modifying, and adjusting invoices, as well as in the automated calculation of taxes and the download of complete reports. Additionally, the connection with other applications, like Rippling, allows us to synchronize transactions with corporate credit cards. I also value the greater customization option that Sage Intacct offers to create specific and detailed reports, something we didn't have with our previous software, QuickBooks. What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

What do you like best about NetSuite?

I really like that NetSuite is very easy to customize. You can hire a consultant to customize the system or write a script, and the system can be expanded or tailored based on different business needs, making it almost like a bespoke system for any business. It's also very easy to use and understand. Being a 100% cloud-based system is a great benefit, especially since we have people working across the globe and it allows us to see data in real-time without waiting for transactions to process. What do you dislike about NetSuite?

Sometimes, if there's a feature that doesn't work with NetSuite, it can take ages for them to address it with an enhancement because not a lot of customers may want it. As a daily user for the past 4.5 years, what I like most about Unanet is how user-friendly it is, both in day-to-day use and in its overall UI. The system is easy to navigate, and it includes enough features to feel like a meaningful upgrade for small and mid-size contractors. It’s a solid option for teams that want to move up to better software without taking on the significant cost that can come with some alternatives. Some of the standard reports in the system feel lackluster, and I find it difficult to get meaningful data out of the Planning tool without having to massage the data first. Unanet helped us transition away from Quickbooks, which wasn’t well positioned to support a services-based government contractor of our size. The integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO) for tax client invoicing is truly seamless—client invoices are automatically imported, which minimizes manual data entry and ensures consistency across the board. - A lot of the material in the Learning Hub and help documentation is outdated. Trying to follow the steps is often guesswork as they no longer relate to the current system

- it seems that sharing ideas to the Idea Portal is of no use. There are many great ideas that seem to be simple fixes but have been sitting there for literal years.

- known defects within the system take a long time to be resolved

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has deliberately removed the ability to print IRS-compliant 1099 forms with boxes, a feature that existed for years and is still required for many established workflows.

There is no technical limitation here — the data exists, but the form layout is intentionally suppressed to push users into paid e-filing. This forces businesses and accounting firms to either pay extra, manually re-enter data into IRS PDFs, or use third-party services.

This is a clear regression, not an improvement. It increases cost, wastes time, introduces error risk, and creates unnecessary compliance confusion. Removing core functionality to coerce add-on purchases undermines trust in the platform.

What do you like best about Campfire?

Switching to Campfire from Netsuite has been an absolute game-changer. As a CFO running a multi-currency, multi-legal entity operation, I’ve dealt with clunky, frustrating accounting software before. Campfire? A totally different story.

This platform is a dream—it’s intuitive, fast, and actually fun to use. I used to dread logging into my old system, but now? I look forward to it. Campfire helps us get more done with fewer headaches, and that’s everything in today’s “do-more-with-less” world.

Even better, Campfire is a new player in the space, and they’re already shaking things up. What do you dislike about Finaloop?

the inability to do FIFO from a simple csv upload like many other softwares do, BUT even the negative is a positive as they got me in touch with their development team so we can find a solution, so hard to constitute that as a negative Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Finaloop solving and how is that benefiting you?

the ability to have everything in one place, prior to that, in order to pull all the correct "fees" from Amazon, that required a a A2X integration and subscription between Amazon and QB online. That was so much work and so many things went wrong all the time, and no one wants to waste time in marlaky. We also had a accountant on top of that, so it was just ridiculous, and that is the case for all e-commerce companies at scale. Finaloop completely solved that stomach turning issue.
