I bought modeler edition in 2007 for $50, upgraded to version 12 in 2014 for another $50, and still using it today. This contains all my modeling needs and it even produces documentation. It understands how to draw all the UML and business process diagrams I use allows me to customize (if necessary), and even performs a decent amount of model checking to let me know where I may have inconsistencies in the model. The closest comparable modeling tool is Enterprise Architect, which I use at work. Although both are similar, I prefer the VP UI.

The learning curve was exactly right for me. I was able to build the charts I needed without being overwhelmed with features I didn't need at that moment.

The best feature of the Visual Paradigm is the simplicity of its use. With little effort, everybody can quickly learn how to create, read and modify diagrams.
