RiskObjects (RO) is a specialized development platform created by Underwriters Technologies, tailored for the property and casualty insurance industry. This proprietary, object-oriented language platform integrates a suite of tools like PostgreSQL, Bootstrap, Node.js, Python, Java, Xojo, PDFlib, LibreOffice, LibXL, and LLVM, along with fundamental web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. RO emphasizes safe programming practices, including strong data typing, and incorporates modern programming elements like introspection, extension methods, and delegates. It mandates a continuous browser-server connection. Unique to RO is its operation as a single-window, binary executable website. It enhances security by dynamically obfuscating variables, but this necessitates a single-window format and disables the back button. RO meticulously logs every user interaction, tracking clicks and selections in real time. These logs offer the capability to observe individual sessions as they happen. For session management, RO employs a "shelf" metaphor alongside a conventional Object Relation Model (ORM) for database interactions. Together with the InsurSys framework, RO can identify and adapt to 477 distinct variations or "touch points" in the property and casualty policy lifecycle. This includes varying policy number issuance processes across different underwriters and business lines. RO's bylob strategy enables users to integrate with each of these discrete processes.
