The linear regression functions in STATA are WAY less tedious than Excel and takes way less time. It's also so much quicker to create various types of plots without doing as much formatting in Excel. Also, the DO files save my life.

It is not hard to learn this software with a guidebook. You could generate similar graphs to what you could get from other statistical programs such as R or Jump through STATA.
