I have been using Origin (and OriginPro) since the early 1990s and here is a short list of what I love about Origin: 1. Easy and intuitive use 2. Able to make an incredible variety of beautiful publication quality graphs 3. Easy customizable data analysis functions and graphs 4. Able to import and export to all the most important files and programs 5. Easily able to import large binary files, MATLAB data, and of course ASCII data 6. Able to export to PowerPoint, Excel, and most every other key applications 7. Very responsive customer and technical support who really care about the quality of their product and they care about me. 8. Very informative webinars to support users 9. Always keeping up with new developments in other technologies with explicit awareness of the other programs out there to make new connections 10. Very reasonable pricing so you get a lot of bang for your buck! As a physician-scientist, Origin is hands down the best graphical analysis program I have ever used.
