New revenue stream for CEO Law with increasing efficiencies

At CEO Law Canada, we believe that traditional law is broken and we are on a mission to fix it. We provide companies with world class lawyers at a fair price, delivering solutions in a responsive, connected way. MinuteBox has been an essential tool in enabling our customer-first efficiency-driven business model. Since day one, we have operated as a distributed, remote-work business. This meant that, from the get go, we have looked for solutions that allow our team to communicate and collaborate together without requiring a centralized office environment. MinuteBox provides a centralized cloud environment that enables our distributed team to work together in providing great service to our clients. We use MinuteBox as one centralized single source of truth for all corporate governance records including client minute books, perpetual or time-limited sharing of minute books with clients lawyers outside of our firm, all ledgers and registers, capitalization tables, board resolutions, by-laws and incorporation documents.
 We like using MinuteBox for the quick creation of new documents, especially because the easy visual editor allows our team to quickly adapt and make changes to precedent documents without requiring specialized tools or assistance. Along with this, we also use MinuteBox to automatically create and fill-in government forms for filing. All documents that we create can also be automatically sent for signature with DocuSign, which we use at our firm.
 Our clerks and administrative teams rely heavily on the calendar and tickler system, which reminds us of important dates both inside the MinuteBox system and by Email.

Just migrated an entire law office to MinuteBox, so easy!

I just completed helping my father migrate his entire law practice of corporate minute book binders from paper to MinuteBox. There were a couple reasons for this, primarily ,my dad has transitioned away from practicing on premise at his law office and required a solution that would allow him to see and view all of his minute books from home or the cottage. The timing of this decision was very good, given the global pandemic, which only reinforced the need to work remotely. Second, we are starting succession planning for his law office as he is now retiring and only working a fraction of the house that he regularly did. It would not have been possible to transition the law practice to a new practitioner with the current state of the physical minute books, which had not been backed up until being moved to the cloud. So far we have loved the onboarding process. The team has been with us every step of the way, helping us figure out which plan to use, how to transition and to get training under way very quickly. Just being able to access everything remotely from home has been transformational, especially for my father. The interface was way simpler than I had anticipated, especially for my father who is older and does not regularly use a computer. Despite this, he was quickly able to understand the basics of MinuteBox and easily start accessing his client data. One new benefit that was not originally thought about, but which quickly became one of the favourites is the ability to share the books with clients as well.

Finally somewhere for all my minute books.

Before we started using MinuteBox, my office was filled with minute books across all of the entities I was managing. We also kept volumes and volumes of minute books in our minute book room and in storage, it was a huge pain. We tried using a few different databases to store and track legal entities in our practice, it was a complete mess. Finally, we now have one centralized place to manage and keep all of our corporate records. This alone is so much to like but with minutebox it gets even better. Remote viewing of all documents in the cloud is fast and easy and I can share any files I need with my colleagues. I was able to backup and secure so many binders that were just collecting dust and taking up space. Now all I need to decide is what to do with all these extra binders I no longer need. I love the way mintuebox handles security, since I can easily login using two factor authentication or my even more secure hardware key. I couldn’t find any other tool that supported these extra security features.
