It's pretty close to notepad++ in Mac, although the Notes application in MacOS is a lot better than notepad in windows there are some notes that I want to keep on my computer only and by default, Mac Notes syncs things to other devices and there is no way to install Notepad++ without doing hard things.

It supports multiple languages, the formatting is very helpful with writing and debugging code

My favorite feature is being able to column select and column write. This feature is missing on many text editors and TextMate is really the only software with this feature on Mac.
