I really like linux mint:
- The philosophy of Free Software. It allows you to have freedoms that other software does not.
- It is free of computer viruses. Most computer viruses are for Windows, with Linux Mint that goes down in history.
- It has a friendly interface, very similar to Windows. If you come from there, the transition will be very comfortable and easy.
- It is efficient in managing the resources you have on your computer. It doesn't matter if your computer isn't state of the art; it is assumed that there will be an excellent use of resources.
A list of what I like the most:
- It's Free Software, I can take all the advantages that it has..
- Virus free, it makes me prefer Linux than Windows.
- It is easy to use, thanks to its friendly and intuitive graphical interface.
- It is very easy to install.
- It has different options to get the best performance out of the Hardware resources you have in your computer.
- It contains robust security protocols, which allows it to be used on servers where sensitive information is stored.
- Coming from Ubuntu, you can use its repositories, which implies that there is a large amount of software compatible with it.
LinuxMint is Debian-based, so it can run most Debian and Ubuntu software packages. It's super-fast. I install it on single-core computers or old reconditioned PCs and laptops because it boots really fast on them and the setup takes just a few clicks. It's always mantained and updated and everything works well out of the box. It also includes audio and video drivers so media will play out of the box.
