Flexibility, Open Source Support and the community

The terminal application iTerm2 is a must-have for any macOS installation. It is an easier, friendlier, and more feature rich alternative to the bundled macOS Terminal application. The ability to have different profiles for different terminal use cases is invaluable. The timestamp functionality to know when you ran commands is quite useful. The ability to have multiple windowed tabs in different configurations is wonderful.

Visually it is much nicer to look at than Terminal and you can download skins and such. The font if easier on the eyes and most of the engineers on our team use it.
