It helps me keep organized and up-to-date with my colleagues.

I like that I can have a Teams tab open in my internet browser and switch back and forth from working within teams and using the instant messaging function to converse with colleagues. I like that I receive a subtle sound reminder and see a red dot notification in the tab when a new message comes in. Teams is also linked to my OneDrive account, so I can easily find, share, attach files in messages, as well as tagging people using the "@" sign so they receive a notification as well.

There are many ways to set what behavior you would like to have happen upon notice of a notification. Also these rules allow you to set for different kinds of notifications (chats, followings, mentions,...etc). This allows me to concentrate on work instead of constant interruptions for what I can deem as trivial. Nothing worse than constant interruptions when you are actually trying to get some work done.
