An open source OS to create the Linux environment

This tool is very simple to install. It's interface is so amazing. Quite easy login and user friendly. Connectivity with putty is also stable and chances of changing the dynamic IP is little less as compared to others.

Dead Mainstream OS

When CentOS was on its hey-days, It was secure, and one-on-one compatible with RedHat Enterprise Linux. It was also very easy to implement, and over-all, user-friendly.

Good OS for the regular usage for project development

It's very good OS for the security perspective. Also, ease to access, fast, rich command line tool. As it is one of distribution of Linux, it has very good security features compared to windows OS. Also, the yum package management tool is very ease to use for install any packages.

What is CentOS?

CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.) CentOS is free. CentOS is developed by a small but growing team of core developers. In turn the core developers are supported by an active user community including system administrators, network administrators, enterprise users, managers, core Linux contributors and Linux enthusiasts from around the world.
