Great for deep, detailed interaction design

Axure is capable of simulating a lot of different kinds of interactions for web applications. It is a pretty flexible design software and allows for enterprise scale version control and building customized widget libraries for prototyping. It makes it pretty easy to generate clickable prototypes that you can pretty easily share with stakeholders and others.

Somewhat of a large learning curve initially but extremely powerful prototyping program

The best part of Axure is the functionality to mimic web interactions. Once the capabilities of dynamics panels is learned, it is feasible to create a clickable prototype that is identical to any coded website and yet there is no code needed. When plugins such as carousels, calendars, and maps are introduced, a designer can go even further in creating a high fidelity prototype.
