a ready canvas with no need for a manual

-its easy to use & with its simplicity can still achieve the same results as a more complex package -the interface is clean & pretty much self explanatory -the software behind the brush tools is clearly intuitive -as an artist in the film & animation industry schedules often allow little time for picking up new software so would often stick to what I already know- Artrage was different as it was easy to try & the results were immediate -the price is very accessible -it also does offer the more complex things like layering & lighting effects should one want to push shadows & hi lights should one want to plan an artwork better

I try others, but keep coming back to ArtRage.

I like the variety and realism of the natural media effects rendering. Oil paint looks like oil paint, watercolor looks like watercolor. I really can't speak to the "realism" of the Glitter Tube and Sticker Spray: being an uptight stick-in-the-mud, I don't use them very much. The depth of features on the Paint Symmetry are a lot of fun, and run a close second on my scale of Awesomeness.

Feel free to feel good!

When the software is up, the whole mood feels like you've unrolled a new sheet to design, and your pencils and brushes are ready! When someone uses a software instead of real paper, colors and drawing tools, it's completely crucial not to feel "There is a software i'm using". It should feels like you are working with real tools. While using the software, It's very important to concentrate on the painting. Sometimes the complexity of adjustments and settings disconnect us from concentration.
