Ableton is a deep program with a ton of possibilities. I love that it is both a timeline based DAW, and also a performance tool, making it easy to experiment, capture the results and then lay them out linearly. MaxForLive offers integration with Max/MSP/Jitter, giving endless possibilities for audio and video production.

That it's the only DAW where you can produce and play live sets. It's very simple and easy to use. I learned to use this program on my own, without any music knowledge. The GUI is very clean, therefore making it easy to layout sounds and compose. I played a live show after 4 days of use. Warping allows you to make more complex live sets with virtually any number of channels or clips playing, and being a DAW, you can use VST effects on those sets which make your sound more unique.
