It's so versatile. You can use it live, in the studio and you don't need to be a genius to navigate it.

lot of in-the-box effects for composing/mixing music good for newbies , good for experts BEST for draw loop-based musical ideas quickly, not ideal to arrange time based ideas IMO

I use Ableton to make my radio show every week. The ease of access to my plugin database and that I can route my microphone into it with ease is a major plus. When I produce a song with vocals or if I am working on a remix project, I can change the speed of the vocals without affecting the pitch or quality!
