We were using an outdated and clunky digital signage software which was inconvenient to manage and its accompanying devices often had to be rebooted with no option to do so remotely. After researching affordable alternatives we found ScreenCloud, and after some testing using a free trial, I was impressed enough to bring in our department head, who agreed to make the switch. The Amazon Fire interface was easy to use and integrated perfectly into our existing hardware, and the experience was well enough received that we've added ten new screens since making the switch in 2021. The interface has only improved since then with added features and the deployment of the ScreenCloud OS devices, which now include options to do almost everything remotely as long as the devices are connected to a network and powered on. Customer support is fantastic and quick to respond with solutions. Our devices are running every day during business hours and we implement 12 playlists over 17 devices. The only downsides I've experienced were fixed after moving from the Amazon app to the ScreenCloud OS. Almost all of the issues we had were to blame on the Fire TV sticks we used to get started, which are a whole separate issue and Amazon's myriad shortcomings should not be a reflection on this software. The interface is easy to use and there are many applications one can take advantage of. Customer support is also very helpful - they'll personally get a video call with you to help resolve the issue you're experiencing. I think the Canvas editing tools could be finetuned more. There are elements to it that make it sometimes frustrating to use (text boxes in particular with how they resize the font when you change the size of the text window). I wish there were more minute controls/customization tools in that. Additionally, while there's the ability to group screens together, I wish that functionality also allowed me to change the operating hours for those screens in that group. Our hotel was in the market for a better digital signage solution. What we had was slow, didn't work correctly and VERY limited on functionality. After doing some checking around, we came across ScreenCloud. We were given a great demo and our questions were answered. The ease of being able to modify our content and how quickly it can be done was a huge sell! We were ready to commit right away. It helped that ScreenCloud was a better system for LESS than what we were paying prior. Getting the system setup and online was simple and maintaining it is easy. The support team went out of their way to ensure that I could get the product working exactly how I needed. I specifically wanted an integration with Canva, and they delivered a format that is intuitive and easy to use. There’s very little I have disliked about ScreenCloud. If I had to mention one thing, it would be the response time or support when it comes to building out a menu status board. I understand that this might be beyond the typical scope of ScreenCloud, but having more options or guidance in this area would be a great addition. We have been using screencloud on more than 6 screen for over 5 years and we find it just 100% reliable even when most of our screen are powered off of cheap fire sticks. Creating content is easy and we have even found custome content and playlists simple to automate with webhooks. Currently we have visitor announcments showing automatically from our calendar system and reverting back to our company video when teh calander is empty and it work really well. One downside is the new dashboard feature although very useful can have isuses with some sites namly Jira, I seem to have constant problems with it running the login sequence correctly and it is quite expensive if you dont use all the features, if all you want is a webpage showing a rasberry pi and a kiosk image is all you really need. The user interface and online platform to manage all your screens, playlists, channels, and content all in one place is extremely useful. Coming from an on-prem solution, moving to a cloud-based system was a game changer. We also have multiple users and creators in the platform, so being able to manage permissions from an admin standpoint is helpful. I can easily manage screens from afar through the dashboard. Above all, ScreenCloud continues to innovate and add new apps and features to their product. I appreciate their customer success team and their SLA time is very fast. ScreenCloud is very easy to navigate and use. It didn't take long to learn and set up was very straightforward. Our non-profit agency has multiple locations and this is such an easy way to get announcements out to all our staff without having to use print materials. And announcements with graphics and video is way more eye-catching than paper flyers.
