Instead of having the alert constantly stay on the phone until you have cleared it, is there a way that you can have a notification that the call bell was answered or that the alert was canceled?

Look for the Cisco AnyConnect icon on the system tray, double click on it. On the program windows, look for the gear icon on the left bottom, click on it. That will open a second window in which you'll see the configuration and statistics for your current VPN connection.
