I appreciate the ease of customizing and LISP integration in ZWCAD. The super-fast loading and zooming features are excellent, and the dynamic snapping is really helpful. These features speed up the production and accuracy of all my projects. The setup was 100% painless, and if you know AutoCAD, ZWCAD offers a zero learning curve and is more efficient than other apps I've evaluated. Using LISP functions for Imperial and Metric fasteners and standard hot rolled steel shapes is also a big plus. The new features introduced with the latest version are making it a worthy competitor of the more renowned one. Notable are the parametric functions and intelligent commands, the implemented 3D. Worth mentioning is the effort they are making to make it a fast, lightweight, complete yet simple software, increasingly rich in commands and shortcuts to automate the workflow and make it interoperable. The main flaw for me is the lack of a complete manual in Italian and also the almost complete lack of tutorials and videos with which it would be possible to explore and learn more deeply all the potential of the new commands and also the less used old ones. One thing I dislike about ZWCAD is that some of the more advanced or specialized features aren’t as polished or extensive as what you find in higher-priced CAD platforms. While it handles everyday drafting very well, certain tools and extensions can feel a bit limited or lack the same level of refinement. I could use a better way to convert PDFs into drawings with ZWCAD. It would be nice if there was an effective method for that. I also deal with a lot of wastewater and septic stuff, so having design software or an add-on tailored to that would be helpful. I have a significant problem with the license; I keep getting kicked off and then put right back on, which is frustrating. If that could be fixed, it would be nice.
