Best tool for mediocre photo edits **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Pavith S. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020 **What do you like best about Zoner Photo Studio X?** It lets you edit pictures in somewhat a photoshop style, but it doesnt have all that complex operations such as that of Photoshop. It can also be used as photo management tool such as that of the old picassa software that google had and further droped. Pictures can be viewed as in an album of their folders. Details of an image is given perfectly, as all the informations are shown in the detail section. It even shows you if a flash was fired during the shot. Thats really impressive. Another thing is that Zoner Photo Studio X lets you organise your images via three main tabs. One is the Album type image explorer and then there is the Viewer which as its name says shows you the image The editor is the main part as it has tools that let you customise and edit your image in limited ways. **What do you dislike about Zoner Photo Studio X?** It is not a very handy software because most edits could be done in most native editors. Also the navigations aren't very friendly. It has less editing tools and freedom of editing is also not much satisfying. The tools could have been better, and the number of tools are also less. The Software design looks good in the black theme but even tho an old fashion look is there. Maybe due to the logo or the design structure. **Recommendations to others considering Zoner Photo Studio X:** Can be used for lite edits. Heavy edits and changes are not meant for this software. Its not a freeware. You can easily find freeware substitutions for some tasks done by this software. Around $49 per year is the price for the software. It might be a bit expensive since its not a one time payment. its like an anual subscription rate. **What problems is Zoner Photo Studio X solving and how is that benefiting you?** Used this software when i had trouble geting photoshop instaled in my pc. It was helpful to an extend but it can never replace photoshop. It was rather a photo management tool than an edittor. It actualy organied the photos in a very nice way. The automatic edit is nice because it enhances the photos without you having to go into all the individual tabs like the brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. **What do you dislike about Zoner Photo Studio X?** While it is a great program, there are free versions that are just as good. **Recommendations to others considering Zoner Photo Studio X:** It is a great software, but if you are only going to use the basics such as brightness, contrast, saturation and a few others, then a free version will work just as well. Twice at year there are main upgrades, included in yearly subscription. User interface is really compact. **What do you dislike about Zoner Photo Studio X?** 1. new user interface implemented from previous version is completely different and a lot of time is needed to get used to it.(if YOu are switching from version 17 or lower one) 2. new pricing policy is, by my humble opinion, completely wrong, even with new discounts on yearly subscription **Recommendations to others considering Zoner Photo Studio X:** This is a classical case of not so known programs that can make miracles.
