**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

I like that Zen Planner helps with workout tracking and logging, and it offers a place to score workouts and keep track of weights. The capability for client interaction and encouragement through the partner app, SugarWOD, is a plus. I also use Zen Planner for reserving classes and keeping track of attendance history and limits. It's convenient that Zen Planner is widely used by other companies, which adds a sense of familiarity.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Toggling between multiple gyms as a member is clunky. It should show one user profile that seamlessly can interchange between different gym locations; the current way of navigating is not user intuitive and it does not save PRs or benchmarks between gyms. The initial setup was a bit cumbersome. It's also not intuitive where to find attendance history and number of remaining classes.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Zen Planner for workout tracking, scoring workouts, and client interaction. It helps in reserving classes, tracking attendance, and managing limits.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

We have used Zenplanner since we opened over ten years ago.  Zenplanner is easy to use and contains a variety of reports that you can use to analyze the performance of your business.  It also plugs in to different apps.  We use SugarWOD and also have it connected to our door system in two of our locations.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Zenplanner has made a lot of changes and updates through the years and it has gotten much better.  My only issue is that billing, on the app, is not easy to get to.  Many of our clients struggle with it.  The link should be more front and center.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes managing our gym and our three locations easy and efficient.

The fact that this system is so easy to use and it incorporates platforms like Zoom.
The best feature is the Zenplanners calendar can be embedded on our website along with the ability for new prospects to reserve a trial class

possibly that I'm on the other side of the world(Australia) making communication slightly delayed.
However, this is something that cannot be changed and the team always get back quickly

We have been able to run online classes through Zenplanner making even our youngest students keen to be apart of the classes.
The online classes are certainly a tougher classes as they are a more personal interaction.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

It is a basic gym management software that allows for billing, class scheduling and payroll management.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

So many of the features are outdated and the communication with the company is absysmal. Even their newly upgraded email system is basic and hard to use. Using the scheduling feature is difficult, especially compared to free calender apps like Gmail. I've also been trying to move information to a new payment processor for over 3 months now and it seems like every time I try to contact someone, no one knows exactly who is handling my account. The regular customer service is nice enough, but they can only forward my information to someone else. What was quoted as a 30-60 day process of switching over to a new payment processor has now taken 93 days as of 7/14/2024 with no solid answer in sight. At the end of it, I'll still have a $700 bill in addition to the hundreds of dollars that I've paid to keep my account active so I can collect invoices from customers. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

The Zen Planner platform was ok to use from the start and did the basics of what we needed but it all went downhill after that

Customer service is nonexistent, refund requests are ignored, and their blatant disregard for the countless emails we’ve sent is unacceptable.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

There is SO much capability and compatability for zen planner. is has  A TON of features. class tracking, calendar function, automated emails, reporting, etc. I have been using it for 10+ years and they continue to try to improve systems and improve integrations. Customer service is typically very quick to help resolve issues.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

So much of zen planner is redudant and the functionality DOES NOT meet best practices. 
There is a appointment calednar on Zen planner studio AND in Zen Planner Ultimate. Neither of these calendar functions are as simple and useful as either calendy OR Acuity. so you have to pay for another service. 
The same goes for the email automations. The email builder is present in the Zen Planner Studio, BUT it is also present in the Zen Planner Ultimate. I think that neither of these email systems is better than what Uplaunch was. I would RATHER use uplaucnh than either of the email builders currently available. 

if there was a way to customize some of the functionality so that I could clean up and use what was useful for my business and get rid of the rest that would be ideal.

All THREE platforms zen planner studio, zen planner ultimate, and sugarwod OFTEN crash and have to be rebooted or reloaded.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zen Planner does several things very good for us:
Holds all our Liability Waivers, membership contracts, and important membership information
manages all payment processing associated with memberships 
tracks attendances 
class scheudule and event calendar is great
now ZP is also our CRM where we can communicate with all prior and current leads, current members and even manage client journeys and milestones.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

Studio: Their main platform for member management, ZenPlanner Studio, is easy to navigate, easy to use, and dynamic. You can build custom reports for literally anything and everything (super helpful when you track your number as a gym owner). 

Engagement: The CRM - I had switched short-term to a different platform because they had a CRM, but I wasn't happy with their member management. As soon as ZenPlanner announced that they had a CRM, I jumped immediately and couldn't be happier. The implementation was tedious, but ZenPlanner made it painless. They integrate Studio and Engagement exceptionally well, and the automations/workflows have streamlined our onboarding process for prospective members. 

The biggest thing about ZenPlanner is the customer service - they answer the questions and get back to you with answers if they don't know. They are always asking for feedback, listening to their customers, and actually implementing change and improvements.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Small first world problems - the retail in the web-version is a little clunky, and you can't toggle between multiple studio databases (have to log in and out each time).

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing a large group of memberships, simplifying the report process (no more need for manual math), communicating with members (via text or email, all members or certain groups), automations to manage members, prospects, and former members.

Very easy to use system, was a customer for many years. Very ease to see everything I needed to run my fitness studio, advanced reporting, stock management, easy payment processing and usage for my team

Price was constantly increasing and new features being added and charged for that we didn't need. Might be better for a multi site business for higher user count than a boutique studio.

ZP has the best customer support in the business. We've used a few payment processors and various tools like MINDBODY and no one has support staff as knowledgable and upbeat as ZP. The software is solid, and there's definitely room for growth, but it's pretty pain-free. Their greatest strength lies in their support staff.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

The software needs to be modernized. While it's solid, there's a dated feel compared to peers like MINDBODY. That said, it's still intuitive and logical - once you've gotten the hang of it it's no fuss at all.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payment processing and customer management geared toward fitness businesses and martial arts. It's turned a tedious and frankly annoying process and made it simple.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

It's pretty affordable and it's pretty easy to send email and sms broadcasts seamlessly.

It's really easy to keep track of who has engaged with our campaigns and who hasn't and as a result everything from planning, strategy, and execution becomes pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

The prewritten email templates can definitely be improved. Some of those emails don't sound like any gym company would actually be able to send them without doing much edits.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing our user base. Engaging with them with email and sms campaigns, and tracking their performance as all of this is necessary as a consultant. Some of the clients that I have worked with lately have seen an increase in conversions, so it's a win-win for both of us.

They always have the answers to my hard questions and help us before ending the call. If I call them, I know I will get my questions answered.

I think some features could be included to be more helpful. I do not have a n example on top of my mind right now, but I will make sure to write it down when I remember.

They answer all the questions and give us some training to make sure we know how to use it fully. By now I feel like I can figure out most of the problems on my own because of their training.

Zen Planner allows us to track our performance with our prospects and students as well as manage each student's experience. It is the most developed customer management solution for martial arts that suits our needs.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

There are some legacy limitations with databases and obtaining reports. They also just switched their student overview page so that we can no longer see the student's recent notes, tasks and last attendance date all in one place.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zen Planner solves the issues of managing prospect flow, keeping track of student attendance, managing multiple membership options, managing rank advancements, task management, automatic billing, refunds, and more!

The app crashes and the web browser feature is clunky.

You need to know how to market or have someone write your marketing for you.  This is just a platform to set it off.  With it being buggy and crashing often, you think they would be able to solve that problem.

Being able to reach a live person on the phone for technical support.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Little things that are missing - like not being able to clock in/out on a cellphone app, not being able to make rank progress invisible to the clients, not being able to have cancellations fees for appointments or making yourself unavailable for an appointment without changing the schedule/booking a fake appointment. I also really like how MindBody implicitly advertises other users of the app in the area by making them appear in the home page. And I wish the website could be more customized (title changes and things like that). And I think it's gross how gender is a mandatory field.

Nothing has really changed on terms of what is provided that affects me, but I have had some specific help with setting things up, like website integration and payroll

With the reports, you can create them based on gender, last attendance, membership, etc. This helps us target the correct audience when it comes to promotions.

The timestamp for our notes is entirely off, and it's annoying to continuously change passwords every few months.

I like the reporting options most in Zenplanner. I also appreciate the regular updates based on feedback.

No 2 way texting is frustrating. The workout planner is lacking and I would love to be able to utilize it more so I could drop the extra app. Our clients have enough apps so being able to eliminate apps is very important. I would also very much appreciate the ability to fully customize the dashboard to show the stats from my customized reporting.

Zenplanner helps me manage our revenue and autopay very well. Its reporting system is quite robust and easily customizable for my needs. I also use Zenplanner for TONS of automations. I use it for email

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

Auto email receipts are a great help when processing a multitude of payments daily. The calendar function is simple and mostly seamless. The ability to send an iCal link to my phone is helpful for syncing all my daily client sessions. The rates are fair, and the ability to use their in house payment processor keeps all my correspondence in a neat and tidy direction.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Email back and forth over customer service issues and tickets has been challenging historically. I've often received a "we will email you back with an answer" response, which is hit and miss for actually solving the issue. The inability to call back the same representative who understands your issue can be a bit of a headache. I'd like to emphasize that much of this has been resolved over the past 6 months as I'm now working with a dedicated account manager who has an intimate knowledge of my business needs. This experience has been great.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZenPlanner allows me to house all my operational processes inside a neat and tidy package that offers ease of use and very little downtime. ZenPlanner allows me to focus on running my business and not on the tedious operational tasks that no small business owner enjoys.

Need better customer service. We can't call and talk to anyone. We have many issues that haven't been solved because we are told constantly to contact another person again, again and again.
We need access to other emails or possibly pay for someone to help us with other campaigns that aren't available already.

Make sure you ask sooooo many questions with your onboarding. You don't ever get to talk to them again. Only email and chats.

Many of the pre-written automated campaign emails just don't fit with our voice, or what we do at our studio. It's been a challenge to go through and edit them all to make them applicable to our needs. But we're doing it!

I'd say, go for it! Overall it has been hugely beneficial to our small business. Just take your time and be patient with the little things that will need to be tweaked over time.

Organization. We love staying organized. In our facility and UpLaunch makes sure we can stay on top of any sort of gaps that may be present. We were looking at a few others in the beginning but quickly realized that UpLaunch was the right fit!

As far as things missing from the product, the mobile interface is kinda middle of the road. Would love to see a more integrated interface for mobile access. Convenience lacks.

The software helps you get in the habit of email and text funneling with other contact points and follow-up with leads.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Uplaunch marketing: 
It was a giant waste. I had them run my ads, and they performed worse than when I ran them on my own. No reporting or meetings to fix.
Uplaunch websites: 
HORRENDOUS! My web traffic dropped massively, it didn't go up like they 'promised'. The build is WAY too expensive, and it doesn't include any of the SEO things needed to rank-you have to pay extra for that, and even then, it's sophomoric as best. Trying to make changes to the website is super slow, and it's ridiculous that you have to pay for more web pages or landing pages. I trying unsuccessfully to cancel my website for over 2 months and they couldn't give me access to my own intellectual property without wanting MORE money and even then they kept claiming there was a 'glitch' preventing them from providing me with a backup of the website. I was able to rebuild my website in 3 days! DO NOT USE THEIR WEBSITE SERVICE!!!! Do it yourself or hire someone on Upwork. 
Uplaunch software: This is the only brighter spot, but not great. The biggest issues are that it's not a responsive software. If a lead responds to an email, they keep getting all the journey emails/communication which becomes annoying if you are offering something and the lead has already accepted it. Not the best software, but is great if you are starting out and need some sort of tracking and followup system for your leads.

**Recommendations to others considering Zen Planner:**

I would recommend going elsewhere. Much better options for comparable prices. Don't fall for the line that they are in your industry so they know best.

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unfortunately, using Uplaunch has created more problems overall, and not in a good way. It was a good solution for about 4-6 months, but then the honeymoon was over and I've kicked myself for getting into this relationship.

When your digital marketing services launched in the beginning of 2021, our team was adapting to the quickly changing landscape in Facebook and Google marketing. In our effort to lead the industry as pandemic restrictions dropped and digital tracking changed permanently, we failed to provide you with the reporting and strategic support we understand is critical.

On learning about this error and your desire for additional SEO work on your website, we tried to provide a series of custom solutions to meet those needs.
It sounds like we both misunderstood those goals and certainly failed to set correct expectations, so must also apologize for not correctly supporting you here.

Post-Cancellation:

After your requested cancellation, we expressed that we would deliver your website free of charge although website designs are generally the property of Daxko. Your intellectual property, such as images/other content are always available to you. While there are regular fees for custom web design, we try to waive those fees in extreme circumstances like these. But between working around our regular processes and a broken website cloning tool, final site delivery was delayed several weeks. We tried to ensure any needs you had with that website were expedited while you waited for full site access, but delays were unavoidable at the time.

Thank you for taking the time for this humbling feedback. We have taken steps to ensure this situation does not happen in the future.

Play around on the backend before going live to make sure you understand how to run it as well as what it looks like from the customer's end on the desktop and app.

Scheduling, membership sales, retail sales, attendance tracking, payroll
It is so much easier to keep all of our business operations under one roof and much more organized. The automations are very helpful in communicating with clients and prospects. The reports generators help us keep up with how the business is doing as well as any back end needs such as payment data or membership expirations

Zen Planner truly is an all-in-one system that is going to make your life easier and allows you to focus on other areas for your business. Recently, our facility has added new staff and I love that Zen Planner has the ability to do payroll through their system.

It's an easy layout, looks organized, and when adding new memberships it's easy to go in and make adjustments if needed as well. Support is extremely helpful in my experience.

It's not possible to do partial refunds, which causes an extra step to get it done through the merchant account. Unable to edit notes as it just makes a whole new one. Has crashed a couple of times.

Very user friendly and easy to use.  It is super easy to get reports from it. Even for people not that great with technology and computers... great!

Only thing I would change is the color scheme. But honestly, it is mostly a personal preference. It also bugs me that there's not a search bar at the top.

Awesome for people in the business who don't care much for technology or simply are not as good with it. The check in app, however, could use some changes. It crashes quite often but other than that is pretty user friendly. Love that if my clients forget to RSVP I can simply look for them with their first name or last name.

They've spent time investing in their development.  They have a highly contactable team and are thorough with their onboarding programs.

I feel like some of the interface was outdated. It wasn't quite as plug-and-play as I was hoping for. Additionally I was required to have too many meetings in order to get things started.  I felt like it was somewhat excessive, while others may have seen it as thorough and helpful!

It just depends on how deep you want to set up your program.  It's thorough. However, they did send WAY TO MANY emails post-separating from the program.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

The UX, user exprience. It is so much easier to use than MindBody. I was using it for almost 2 years and then wanted a login system for my students and to be able to track techniques for students.

I can customize my dashboard to my liking as to what I need to see, what is important to me. I even setup a birthday alert so I know a student has a birthday coming up. it even has a retail component with no additional charge.

The app isn't available on Android OS yet, but the sign-in via the kiosk website works like a charm.

An admin app, or mobile response and Android OS app.

The ability to send emails through the software is great, I don't need to use gmail or outlook.

If I want to send emails to certain members, I can click on their names, pick a template or customize the email to them. I can also save the new template.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

There are a million features and you can do almost anything you need. It works with accounting software by creating excel spreadsheets with any information you need such as receipt numbers, bill numbers, amounts before or after tax. Customer service is fast, they respond to any enquiry within 24 hours, if they can help with your situation by explaining, they will give detailed instructions including pictures to help resolve any issues.

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Super complicated. It took nearly 6 months for me to feel comfortable and be able to do some of the most basic things such as updating the class schedules. It's basically for computer programmers, if you don't understand coding and in depth websites it will take you awhile to get the hang of it. 

**Recommendations to others considering Zen Planner:**

Search around for other programs first if you are just starting out, the ease of use will be more beneficial to you then trying to switch over a couple of years into it.

It gave financial reports so we could update our accounting software, kept track of payments and customer accounts. But, the benefits were no greater than other similar software.

I like how the dashboard was very easy to navigate.  Everything was laid out very clearly. I don't schedule a large number of classes yes, but I can see that becoming a lot easier with an app like this.  I appreciate the free trial which allows you to identify how useful the app could be to your company before any commitment. 

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

Nothing I've noticed so far has been unappealing. The free trial lasts long enough for you to get an idea of what features you can utilize, or which features you don't need. 

**Recommendations to others considering Zen Planner:**

If you are needing to schedule a large amount of classes, this could significantly help keep you organized. The dashboard is easy to use and would work well for any number of staff members.

Helps plan classes better so I don't risk overlapping/scheduling issues.  It helps me become more organized with my scheduling. It makes it easy to incorporate other staff members as well no matter how large of a company you have.

**What do you like best about Zen Planner?**

Their customer service is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Seriously, I've never been so pleased with a customer service experience in my life. And not just once but every. single. time. Their employees are well trained and extremely caring, professional, & personal. Add an easy-to-use software on top of it...amazing!

**What do you dislike about Zen Planner?**

The setup process was a little complicated. But really, putting together all of that data, integrating a payment system, all that, it's nothing on Zen Planners end of things, it's just a bit of a task. I did wish the onboarding process was a little easier to get through, and that we could have access to replays of it instead of having to sign up for the onboarding process again if needed. I also believe you had to pay for a second onboarding experience. So when I left the gym and my replacement needed to learn the system, that made it a little difficult. I had to show her myself for the most part.

**Recommendations to others considering Zen Planner:**

Use it! If you ever run into any problems at all, contact their customer support center. They are extremely fast, reliable, and helpful. Once you're in, be sure to play around with and utilize all the different settings, there is SO MUCH you can do with Zen Planner!

**What problems is Zen Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I loved the scheduling process, the ability to add and delete classes, events, and appointments super easily. Accepting payments, contacting members, signing waivers, all of that was solved so quickly and easily.
