I like that there are zero fees to the nonprofit. I also really appreciate the all-in-one nature of the app: people can make donations, pay for programs, and receive our newsletters all through the same platform Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That "optional" 17.3% surcharge on people's donations really gives people pause if they can't figure out how to turn it off. I just tried it myself and see that it isn't immediately evident. I suspect Zeffy might get greater buy-in if they suggested a lower percentage up front. I also wonder how many donors I've lost just because people couldn't figure out how to bypass that. As a NPO we need to save every penny, and zero fees deducted makes a BIG difference over time. Zeffy also has a good number of choices for making campaigns look different as well as I like the dashboard that opens when you have some usage. Very easy share via link and QR codes as well. Donor tip confusion. Zeffy is free because it asks donors to leave a voluntary tip to support Zeffy. Some donors assume the tip is required and may abandon their donation if they don't realize they can reduce it or set it to $0. This is probably the most common complaint. The primary draw for Zeffy, besides the ease of use, is that our non-profit can keep all the money donated without losing some to fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only downside I have mentioned is the newsletter sign up widget that could use some more clear verbiage on consent, similar to GiveButter's widget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What we like best about Zeffy is that it allows our fundraising event to keep 100% of the money we collect, without credit card processing fees being taken out. For the Dog Days Wine Tour, which is our annual Silver Wheels Cycling Club fundraiser, that makes a big difference.

We also appreciate that Zeffy gives participants the choice to support the platform through an optional donation, while still keeping the checkout process simple and easy. Riders can register and purchase merchandise using credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or even pay by check.

This is our first year using Zeffy, and since launching on March 1st, we’ve already registered over 220 riders with no issues. The platform has been reliable, easy to use, and a great fit for our event. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only thing I would suggest improving is the ability to schedule automatic price changes for tiered pricing.

For our event, we offer monthly pricing tiers that gradually increase as the event gets closer. Zeffy does allow us to schedule when a price ends, which is helpful, but it does not currently allow us to schedule the next pricing tier to start automatically. Because of that, we keep a reminder and manually add the new tier the night of the price change.

It’s not a major issue, and it has not affected our overall experience, but adding automatic scheduled price changes would make an already great platform even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Zeffy is a fabulous platform for our organization! We run on a shoestring budget and count every penny. Setup/integrations initially are very easy to do. Having the possibility to drive donations to a free platform that doesn't take huge junks of fees is vital for us as a small non-profit. Building and sending newsletter emails is also really straightforward and has helped us simplify management of DLs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For newsletter design, it would be good to get guidance on when length becomes an issue (indicator as to when an email might get cut off before you get there, not after). Lists aren't really that straightforward to work with Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Zeffy was easy to set up and use from the very start. It combined the best of what we'd previously used three other applications to do in the past and saved the organization tons of dollars in admin fees. Also, the payout schedule that begins prior to the event date helped with deposits AND event expenses that made our slim margins appear larger, and aided our grassroots volunteers in understanding the business side of their work.
