  ### 1. Easy to Use, Great-Looking Forms & Tickets—No Fees

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

You desperately need to integrate with a credit card reader. 

The biggest issue we are having is selling tickets at the door and telling everyone to scan the QR code and make a purchase. Older people get MAD and want to just scan their card. I believe their are workarounds for this, but we have not been successful at implementing them. We use Square for some events/programs for this reason, and we hate Square.

Zeffy fees default to extremely high %. I know you make your money off of these fees, but you might be better off having a 10% fee available, and removing the ability to assign a 0% fee. Honestly, the inclination we have now- in order to sell more tickets- is to let people know that they can edit the fee -- and once they do that, they see that they can set it to 0, which is bad for you guys.

**What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy ticket sales for event without fees. We use Zeffy specifically for large scale events that have paid tickets. The ONLY issue with this is the at-the-door sales which are complicated by not having a card reader.

**What do you like best about Zeffy?**

As an advisor to nonprofits, I give Zeffy.com my highest recommendation. 

Zeffy is a nonprofit technology platform that, unlike it's competitors, is completely transparent when it comes to pricing -- it's 100% free. 

Zeffy is like a Swiss Army knife! Multiple features are contained in a single integrated platform that covers every aspect of fundraising and nonprofit operations. Zeffy recently added newsletters that eliminate the cost and hassle of Constant Contact and MailChimp. 

Their free mobile app has a "Tap to Pay" feature that transforms your standard iPhone or Android device into a credit card terminal. You no longer need to buy clunky hardware or Square readers to accept payments at a gala, bake sale, or charity run. You simply open the app, enter the donation amount, and the donor taps their card or phone against yours. It is seamless, professional, and like the rest of the platform, completely free of transaction fees. It is a game-changer for live events. 

When you consider all the standalone services your nonprofit is currently paying for, replacing them with Zeffy is the logical choice.

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

When I tell my nonprofit clients about Zeffy, they are usually skeptical—we are all used to "free" software having hidden transaction fees or "pro" tiers. Zeffy is the exception. It is genuinely 100% free for the nonprofit. They cover all credit card processing fees (which usually eat up 3-5% of your revenue) by asking donors for a voluntary tip at checkout. Zeffy provides appropriate messaging during the process. However, not all donors are familiar with the concept of "tipping" Zeffy. Donors are unaware of the substantial investment Zeffy made in creating, maintaining and improving their technology platform.

As an advisor to nonprofits, I know that my clients will have an easy transition to the Zeffy platform and will substantially reduce their cost of operations.

**What do you like best about Zeffy?**

What I like best about Zeffy is the simplicity combined with functionality. After more than 25 years using CRM and donor platforms, I really appreciate how easy it is to track donors, view their communication history in one place, and see engagement such as email opens and link clicks. I also love the organization page, which gives supporters a clear landing page to see our activity and ways to engage. Compared with many costly platforms, Zeffy offers tremendous value and has the features nonprofits truly need.

I do not have any major dislikes. One of the things I appreciate most is that Zeffy listens to its users and continues to improve. The platform keeps getting better, and that responsiveness gives me confidence that they are building with nonprofits in mind.

What I like best about using Zeffy for Alberta Northwest Palliative Care Society is how simple and cost-effective it is. I’ve used Zeffy for a bunch of different types of campaigns, and it’s been amazing every time. Because Zeffy doesn’t charge transaction fees, we know that 100% of donations go directly to supporting palliative care in our community. The platform is easy to use for both our team and our donors, which saves us time and reduces stress, and it makes tracking donations and managing campaigns really straightforward.

One drawback is the CRM management. It’s not super easy to use, and managing donor information can feel a bit clunky at times. There’s a learning curve compared to other platforms, which can make some tasks take longer than expected.

I was extremely excited to learn how there are no processing fees and that a group of individuals took this on as a project.  Thank you from us but the many donors and other charities that you are helping, truly a great idea and software.

Nice to know that I can say "every penny you donate, is coming to the charity, no processing fees, no software fees..."  This speaks volumes to our donors and it's so great to have a NFP company who listened and took this on.

Clearly have a system that is intuitive, easy to use and the customer support is switch and really good.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  The software is really easy to use.

**What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost of software - it's expensive and yours is free to use with all of the benefits of saving the processing fees, and people who actually help when you contact support.  If you need support...  The software is simple to use, easy to set up and the money transfers are seamless.  You don't even have to initiate, the automation is wonderful as well.

Zeffy has completely transformed how we handle transactions at our window. The donor UX is incredibly frictionless: we use Tap to Pay directly on our phones (iOS and Android), so there’s no clunky hardware to faff with. The moment a donation is made, the system sends an automatic receipt, which donors love for their records and saves us hours of manual work.

The biggest "win" for us is the ability to link campaigns directly to participation waivers and registrations. We’ve actually seen an increase in donations because we’ve integrated the "ask" into the registration process. By making it one seamless step instead of two separate tasks, people are much more likely to give. It’s professional, fast, and ensures that 100% of the funds go toward our mission.

It’s hard to find a downside when the platform is free and works this well. Any time we've had a question about setting up a new campaign link, their support team has been quick to jump in and help.

What I like best about Zeffy is how much money and time it saves us. We keep 100% of every donation or sale, no transaction fees, which has saved us $2,212 in just one year. It’s easy to issue refunds, quick to set up same-day campaigns for concessions or on-site sales, and flexible enough to handle our events without added hassle. It just works, and that makes a big difference.

At this point, there isn’t anything I strongly dislike. It’s been reliable, easy to use, and has consistently met our needs.

**What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most platforms skim 2–5% off every donation or ticket sale. Zeffy doesn’t. That means when someone pays $20, the organization actually receives the full $20 — not $18.73 after processing, platform, and “surprise” fees. Over the past year alone, we’ve saved $2,212 by using Zeffy, which is real money back into programs instead of payment processors.

Refunds are straightforward and easy to manage, which matters more than people realize when running events. What sets it apart is the intuitive interface; it’s incredibly easy to use, yet it doesn’t sacrifice the advanced features needed for a more personalized configuration, especially for the newsletters.
Having marketing, fundraising, and CRM tools in one connected environment is a game-changer. Everything talks to each other smoothly, which has significantly streamlined our workflow.

The only area for improvement: We still have to manually enter donations received externally. A direct bank integration to auto-capture those offline donations would make this a truly 'zero-touch' platform.

It is super easy to use. It took me step by step to create our campaigns. I was able to add our logo and customize each campaign with attention grabbing graphics. And Zeffy doesn't take a % of our sales so 100% of the money raised goes towards providing educational opportunities for our students!

There was nothing to dislike about Zeffy.

**What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to use Cash App, Venmo and EventBrite. Venmo and EventBrite took a % of our fundraising efforts. That wasn't fair to our students who worked so hard to fundraise. Cash App gave us 100% of our revenue, but it crashed when more than a handful of people donated at the same time. That caused a lot of frustration and we lost sales/donations. 

Zeffy gives us 100% of the money we raise and does not crash when multiple people purchase or donate money at the same time. We have only received positive feedback from our parents and families. They love how easy it is to use the platform. We can even translate our campaigns to Spanish. This is extremely important for our bilingual parents and families.

What I like the most is having my event registration and payments in the same form.  Too many times were we chasing payments for camp registrations or travel fees when using forms and then another payment platform.

I would love a better way to organize my active and past campaigns.  Currently it is by creation date so sometimes I have active ones that are older and newer ones we aren't using yet all mixed in together.

Event registrations and fee collection all in one form/link.  Another plus is the scheduled bank transfers.  Having it be automatic saves the manual transfers.  Being able to create a report to see what campaigns the money goes to also makes life easy for me as we transfer into a single bank account but then have to transfer the money into different accounts for different parts of our organization.

Love that Zeffy is free for non profits. That ensures all of our fundraising goes to the program and that the students benefit the most. Was easy to set up for an admin and once I had the main account set up I can invite other users to create their event. Works great for our organization.  Great and easy to use feedback from people attending our events.

Have not found a downside yet. Going to start and online apparel store. Will update review once that is up and running.

We were looking for a way for donors to use a credit card but didn't want to have to pay any fees. There are NO fees for non-profits which is absolutely awesome! When coming to our fundraisers not everyone has enough cash these days so it is so nice to have this option available. I have used it myself several times and it is very simple. I just have people scan a QR code and it just walks them through it to the payment. Love how it sends me an email immediately to let me know that a payment has been received.

Nothing, but I wish more people would use it.

We use zeffy at our HUGE church rummage sale mostly. People were always looking for a way to pay digitally and this solved that problem. Some people come without enough cash and this helps them spend more money at this fundraiser, etc.

When we needed to update or make clearer our levels of tickets of sponsorship, we could do that.
If we needed to create a specialized ticket level for someone (like a wedding party), Zeffy showed us how to do that.
When I could not get into the site to edit for a couple of days, they responded and we got the issue fixed.
I love getting money deposited every week. It gives us the ability to pay our bills and invest in advertising.

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

"Dislike" is a bit too drastic. There are some areas I would like to suggest changes. 
a) In their ticket section, I would like to have a "Menu" section first before the tickets, outlining what the various tickets are in that category.
b) I would like to be able to filter a list to see just the various levels of people who have registered (Those with RVs. Those without Cars. Those who need ADA spots, etc).

Collecting Funds for me, and transferring that money into our non-profit's accounts so smoothly. SIMPLE refund procedures.

I like its many features and that we receive 100% of our donations. I have been able to customize campaigns for our different donation needs. For example we have a general donations campaign, a ticket sales campaign and a corporate sponsorship campaign.

It would be helpful if different campaigns could be linked to different bank accounts. Some campaign funds are designated differently than others and having them automatically separated would be helpful versus transferring the funds manually.

It is allowing us one place to collect donations, sell event tickets and take corporate donations. I am not having to use multiple apps or websites. It streamlines our donation process. We are so grateful to our Board member who recommended Zeffy. Since we've been using it, we've saved over $1,600 in fees. Setting up campaigns is really simple and it interfaces with our Squarespace website beautifully, making it easy for donors to give and visitors to register for programs.

For us, Zeffy isn't robust enough to replace a real CRM, so there's some double-entry of transactions, but it's great at what it does. If every penny counts, Zeffy is a great option.

The campaign system can be difficult to navigate with special circumstances or offerings, but I have seen them work to add more flexibility and options.

The main problem was the payment processing fees of Stripe and PayPal which were requiring us to ask for more from our donors and members.  The donations are now all going to our school and its mission.  As we have explored Zeffy more and as Zeffy continues to rollout new features, we have found other benefits in this resource:  easy email communications, clear reports of income and donors, immediate donor contact and receipts, and access points for staff.

While Zeffy is free for the non-profit to collect donations the application does ask for a donation from the donors. Which is reasonable, however a tip amount automatically being filled in may not be the best way to operate even though the donor is able to change the amount or even make it zero.

Platform is still not fully featured. Some things that come to mind. No support for married donors with different last names, no support for donors that are married but share the same last name, no support for email campaigns that allow for importing HTML from Canva or MJML, Ticketing system for events is functional but bare bones, PDF tickets sent in confirmation emails are not stored until event date. (i.e., donors who signed up for events early were not able to see tickets linked in their emails on the day of the event because their file holding time is too short.)

They have both iOS and Android versions of their one-tap payment for onsite donations.  They allow for donations, ticketing, auctions, memberships,and a lot more.  Every feature we use has been easy to set up.  I tell every nonprofit I work with about Zeffy, it is great!

My only thing is a feature request, and that would be a way to include donor info in deposits.  This would make it easier to track which donations are in each bulk deposit.

Our biggest draw when adopting Zeffy was the lack of fees, but we quickly found the intuitive interface to be a huge added bonus. The ease of creating new campaigns was a huge improvement over the previous program we had used, despite its significant monthly cost.

At first we couldn't find a way to have funds from different campaigns deposited in different accounts, but then we discovered how to set that up, so at the moment there is nothing we dislike about Zeffy.

Zeffy has been a blessing, and honestly one of the best things to come along in a long time for both of our foundations in the US and Canada. When someone asks me why our fundraising campaigns are successful, I tell them I focus on thanking the donor as quickly as possible, keeping it personal, and avoiding any fees that take away from our success. Zeffy is the answer for us.

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

Many donors seem to confuse the processing fee as something required, or as a kind of tax on their donation. I’d also like to see Zeffy integrate with our Birdease platform for our golf outing, since that would make things easier for us.

Zeffy allows for our non profit to collect payments easily and without the complications behind the scenes that many other companies give. The lack of processing costs for the nonprofit helps collect more and be more transparent about where our costs go. The support team has been excellent and the communication options are great for our donors.

There are currently no invoicing options, I believe they are coming soon, but this would be very helpful for our business model.

I wish I could put items in our online store for less than $1. We have had to get creative in how to sell small items (like bubblegum or airheads) at our concession stand. I wish you could also automatically sort items in online store into alphabetical order rather than having to go in and manually arrange them.

Our non-profit little league paid over $500 in credit card fees the month before we started using Zeffy full time. I am so glad to take this expense away from the league so that we can put more towards our youth!

Our organization did not like using the traditional PayPal methods which brought on fees on every donation.  This would mean tens of thousands of dollars each year going to the banking organizations just to run money to the non-profit.  Now we are in charge of giving a gift to Zeffy, or give the option to our donors.

Nothing so far.  I would question only the 16% ask by Zeffy to cover the costs of the donation.  That seems high.

I love that it is such a benefit for non-profits to be able use such a platform to capture other forms of payment that were not easily taken previously.  It is a very easy to use platform that is user friendly.  Helpful to both the non-profit as well as to the donors.  It has various options for how it can be used.

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

I do wish there were a few additional features.  We currently can integrate forms but only if ther person using it is making a donation, sometimes  our non profit would be using a form where someone has the choice to sign up via the form and make a donation, but we would like for them to still be able to fill out the form and decline the donation. (an example, we host an event where there donation is to bring the item that will be used in the event and some choose to do a monetary donation as well, but others bring only the item as their donation, we still want the form captured, but there is no monetary donation.)

It solves for us the ability to take multiple forms of payment that we did not have before. I love the customer service team at Zeffy; they are excellent, reply quickly, keep me informed of any troubleshooting, provide excellent training tip videos, and make important changes based on clients' feedback. It's such a relief these days! The initial setup was really easy; the help tools for creating an import file were straightforward and everything went extremely well. Plus, Zeffy has allowed us to step up our membership tracking and communicate more professionally. I also appreciate that it is $0 to use and more than one board member can access the data, making it hugely efficient. I've already promoted Zeffy in a Facebook group and love telling people about it because I think it could benefit others.

**What do you dislike about Zeffy?**

Where I see limitations that could easily be improved is their export files and reporting. Export files are clunky and seem to be individualized by category (contact or payment - why can't that be combined?). There is no unique reporting, and I know the back-end platform is HubSpot, so I believe this feature could be 'turned on' and would allow more functionality of our data. There is no good or custom reporting in Zeffy, and the current ones are clunky and create a lot of manual clean-up in order to be useful. Contact and payment exports seem extremely separate but think they could be combined, especially with the option to 'check mark' certain things.

I use Zeffy to manage our nonprofit's membership details, creating campaigns, and sending newsletters. It saves us money compared to PayPal, improves our communication and tracking efficiency, and looks more professional.

I really love Zeffy for many reasons. What originally drew me to Zeffy was that my organization doesn't pay fees. Once I started using Zeffy, I found it super easy and intuitive. I set up a 13 item virtual auction that was easy at both the back end and the user end. We also sold tickets to an event on Zeffy and it was amazing how easy and seamless it was. I wish I'd known about Zeffy sooner.

Customer support is highly responsive as well.

The only thing I don't like is that I did not receive individual notifications of our Giving Tuesday donations. It took a few days for me to see those donations myself and it was embarrassing that I was late acknowledging the people who contributed.

One other thing: the ticketed event page needs a Pay What You Can option.
