Top Rated Zapworks Alternatives

For me it's the UI, it was very easy to get to grips with. Being able to visualise my scene in 3d directly inside Zapworks is extremely helpful. Animating from within Zapworks using states and timelines is a dream and it makes creating immersive AR experience even easier. The community pages are great as well, I have little to none coding experience but have been able to pick up and understand bits and pieces from other users of Zapworks.
Overall, the whole Zapworks experience is very smooth, from starting with a blank project all the way through to publishing I have never had any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I think is lacking with Zapworks would be a snap to grid option, I often feel it can be a bit tedious trying to align a 3d object to the floor or the surface of a tracking image. Support for World tracking and cylindrical tracking for WebAR, I believe these are currently in beta for Zapworks though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about ZapWorks is its combination of ease of use and powerful AR capabilities, allowing for the creation of engaging and interactive AR experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limited customization options hinder the ability to create fully tailored AR experiences, making it challenging to achieve unique branding and design elements. The stability of the tracking sometimes does not feel free and optimal especially with plane tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to create simple AR using designer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are so many things wrong with Zapworks designer that it's hard to know where to start.
Managing and tagging projects. They've removed lots of useful elements that were in the legacy software.
The UI is awful with a few useful elements, but many many basic essential editing tools missing. It's hard to select and edit objects if you have things close together. You can't have a button that makes a sound AND has another action. You can reorder your scenes etc etc.
It feels like a half finished beta And I feel like I've been duped into continuing to pay for an amateurish piece of software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The helpful part of using ZapWorks is that it's so user friendly already but there is also great staff support - that just sets you up to be sucessful! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I very much like that you can create AR experiences without needing to code and that there are several tools to help design a unique experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface on the web to manage and create projects can be a little clunky and projects can get a little untidy with the way they are listed. The ability to tag a project and group them can be unreliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is free to begin with if you are not a company, just a personal account. It is straightforward to get started with the Widget feature, and if you are familiar with Storyline or building in Captivate, then Designer will be right up your alley. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The upper levels of ZapWorks are very code development heavy. If you are not a coder, then it will be a challenge. ZapWorks offers lots of tutorials and code you can copy, but it will be a challenge, so be patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are general limitations to webAR development, and a lot of care needs to be put into optimization especially.

An issue I have is when I'm in the field demonstrating, even the slightest flatter on the image gets in the way of reading the tracking image. There's got to Be a way to tell that it's close enough of to lower that threshold some Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
