YugabyteDB is a best choice for today's microservice based applications, it is highly scalable, available and provide high performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the limitations of YugabyteDB db is that it is not compatible with some external tools and technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. The Yugabyte Platform is a cloud-native, web application that comes with a subscription to the product which enables the very easy creation and deployment of YugabyteDB clusters.
2. The consistency (ACID) guarantees of the product assure me that it is very much capable of being deployed in mission-critical systems-of-record applications.
3. The fact that every node in a YugabyteDB cluster is read/write enables easy user scalability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Some Postgres DDL statements are not yet supported.
2. The ysql_dump backup utility does not produce a fully Postgres-compatible dump.
3. Geo-distribution may pose some latency issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

YugabyteDB it's a great tool if you need to scalate your Postgre database, with the cluster you can have an almost unlimited scalation, beside their own drivers you can use Postgre drivers as well! Really great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the best features of using Yugabyte Cloud is the easy access to the cluster through Cloud Shell, which provides quick and secure access to the database in the browser. Yugabyte Cloud provides graphs with performance metrics, which is helpful with debugging cluster issues. The main advantage of running YugabyteDB on Yugabyte Cloud is that we do not need to worry about the underlying infrastructure. Yugabyte Cloud provides security with network access control for IP addresses and more VPCs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No support for Azure is a pain point for companies looking to run all their workloads on Azure. Yugabyte Cloud requires more granular RBAC (Role-Based Access Control); it currently only supports Developer and Admin. There are no read-only users as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best is that YugabyteDB is DistributedSQL, and all of features like High Availability, Horizontal Scaling and etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SInce, I'm a user of YugabyteDB here at the Philippines what I dislike is that it's API (YSQL = PostgreSQL) which other DBA's are not using it. What I would like is that, they add more API for other SQL's Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface looks very complicated to me and there exists latency issues due to geo distributions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
YugabyteDB is a great way to store and use databases in a safe and secure environment. It can handle vast amounts of data quickly, so we never have to worry about queries taking too long. Their servers are also located in many international locations, making it easy for the information to be accessed from all over the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though YugabyteDB integrates SQL, its interface tends to be slightly complicated, even for users familiar with database platforms and SQL queries. However, there are minimal instances of data being lost due to the automatic duplicate system YugabyteDB implements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
