YouTube Live Pros and Cons

YouTube live is a great way to stream anything live - I've used it to stream my fitness sessions live often for 0 Excuses Fitness. One particularly helpful feature is it saves livestreams automatically which is a huge help - that isn't available with Twitch, another service I sometimes use. They have a lot of useful features too in terms of promotion, allowing a fairly long title etc - reliability - and working well on mobile connection (not something I experienced with Twitch) is something I really appreciate. Nothing more annoying then getting disconnected while live streaming, kills FLOW so to speak.

As a developer the thing I love the most about youtube live is its documentation and the ease of integration. Second would be the fact that it allows you to broadcast a custom stream a custom show etc which is huge.

I don't like the way it takes 2-3 days to enable youtube live when it's according me shall be straightforward api call.

It's not well optimized to work on a slow network like a dual stream etc.

The keys are tricky to use on website itself as sometimes they start a live video and sometimes they do not.

This is a convenient way to stream live news shows and more. The transmission is smooth, there isn't much freezing which is good if you're watching for work. The stream tends to be smoother and the picture more clear than some services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
