What do you like best about Yi?

As text editors go, Yi is a pretty straightforward one. It has a cool logo! It's specifically geared towards Haskell developers and people who like to customize their tools. It doesn't feel clunky at all when I open it up and the installation process is pretty much detailed nicely on their website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Yi?

It's clunky to install. Just go to the website, and you can see it's not straightforward and automated in some cases. I feel like there are other tools out there that work out of the box and have just as good support for Haskell. I also don't like the lack of support for Windows. I understand it's primarily Haskell oriented and it's meant for haskell developers who are more comfortable with unix/mac anyway but it's still a blocker in terms of a lot of enterprise adoption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Yi:

It's an excellent tool to experiment and hack new features for fun. I don't think it is precisely enterprise quality in its current form. However, if your developers would like to use Yi, it should be fine. It's just another text editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Yi solving and how is that benefiting you?

There isn't a use case that is aided explicitly with Yi at the moment. I like that it's a functional and lightweight text editor. It gives me an excuse to practice using Haskell too. I used it mostly for myself because I like to tinker with things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
