**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I haven't found anything I like so far.  Except it's easy to do a free listing.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

The call me weekly, send me emails weekly, and if I don't respond, they send emails to anyone in the company they can find an email address too.  Almost feels like they are ver deseparate for business.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

Be aware that they won't leave you alone until you do a paid version.

I did a free profile, but haven't seen any action from it.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

Pages are relatively easy to manage to add information about your business.

In theory it's a nice simple way to advertise for a business.

If you have enough profit for advertising; it's possibly worth it.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

Billing Practices -- they create promotions that are difficult to understand if they are enabled or not.

Features that are stupid to bill for. As a general contractor; you have to pay $ each month to have a checkbox on your landing page that indicates you're a "License Verified" contractor. You can't be a General Contractor without being licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington State. however, the absence of that information makes you look like a shady business on Yelp (relative to your peers). So, yes -- you can "have a free page" on Yelp ... but you really can't if you're serious about having an online presence. And that pay-to-play model only benefits Yelp -- not the consumer, and not the business.

Yelp's pricing model isn't pay-for-performance. You pay an arbitrary amount that you pick -- and the spend recommendations are basically a UI that claims other businesses like yours spend X per month. It's a good strategy for them to make money, but a bad strategy for a business to actually get real leads from -- or to even know what your cost-per-lead will be.

Quality of leads - All except one lead from the last two years on Yelp were trash. But, for us -- we only needed one good lead to justify the spend. Most calls we got through Yelp were Tire-kickers who weren't actually buyers for the most part -- mostly people in the "research" phase of their buying journey in the remodel space. We found that we got better leads through carefully designing ad campaigns on Google and Microsoft for our industry.

TL;DR;, Your Mileage May Vary -- but don't expect it to feed your business in the remodeling space. 

A lot of little things they do as "features" cost you monthly and you're nickle-and-dime'd on really basic functionality that costs them nothing and should be included as a basic feature already.

Custom Support is also disempowered to actually help you. We repeatedly saw positive reviews from our customers on Yelp and then within 24-48 hours of receiving a review and thanking our customer, Yelp's automation would claim they were fraudulent. (for scale; we had like 6 reviews in total as a small local remodeling business; only one was approved. All were 5*). This isn't exactly what others claim where people get lots of negative reviews and yelp doesn't help them -- I wouldn't expect them to anyways; if you're providing crap work and getting crap reviews, you earned them. For us it was just frustrating to be on a job-site for upwards of a month for a great customer who would kindly write a review only to ask us "where did the review go I just wrote?".
 This was incredibly frustrating when we worked hard to earn a positive review from a customer. We got to the point that we now explicitly began tell our customers, "If you're going to write a review, please do so on any platform other than Yelp because they are just removing reviews and we don't know why" -- possibly it's because our crews were on-site at a customer residence making the algorithm think we were generating them or something (e.g., co-founder has the yelp app and it sees location --- hard to say) ... but the review review process is fundamentally broken.

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yelp exists as a "trusted platform" where end-users can search for businesses (typically in the restaurant industry); however, they have expanded into other fields. They are basically a directory service that aggregates vendor information into one spot.

In theory this is great for consumers and I do enjoy the ability to find information on yelp.

We ended up getting 1-2 spam calls per day having the yelp Business ads.

I don't like them. They should not be allowed to chose which ads get shown and which don't

They try to rope you into paying for ads and then over charge you, don't keep promises and make it impossible to cancle. Because they are a big company credit card companies won't dispute the charges. You will be wasting money. Beware

Go to google.

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yelps "algorithm" only shows negative reviews from non-clients. I got rid all content on my yelp page except for a picture of their hidden reviews and google reviews.

Yelp is well-respected and has a large customer base.

Yelp will post a 1-star review from a customer with only 1 review, but will hide, or not recommend, a 5-star review from a customer with 5+ reviews.  Also, when notified of the issue, they won't remove it.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

Don't waste your money and time.  Check Google, Angi, Bing, Yahoo.

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am paying Yelp to advertise my business.  It puts us in contact with clients that need our services.

I am a big advocate for posting reviews on yelp for businesses and leaving reviews so future customers are aware of the services and products they are receiving. They ahve helped me discover major businesses and brands to invest and advocate for in Nashville.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I like how reliable yelp is for business reviews and I can trust that the people are loyal and trustworthy to companies. I can see reviews that highlight positivies of the company.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

There is nothing I dislike about this service. I think jsut categorizing the reviews into pros and cons would be helpful to the site and the overall platform/service.

It is solving a problem of time and energy put into finding quality businesses that value relationships with people and quality services. It is very helpful!!!!

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

The ability to keep our business attributes, menus, and hours current. I am able to access multiple properties with one login.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I am consistently harrassed by sales personnel whenever I log in to make updates to our business profile. Within hours, I am receiving calls from overzealous sales people with "recommendations" for our properties. This practice de-incentivizes me from wanting to log in and engage with the platform.

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yelp is a way for our restaurant guests to find our business, as it is the default rating value on Apple's native Maps app. We are able to promote special hours of operation on holidays, update our menus, and respond to guest reviews.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

We can message back with members and potential members.  Since your company will be listed online it will increae your companies visibility.  So you can use this to develop links to your business. Good SEO pratice.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

Not enough categories.  There are some draw backs to the unpaid service and there are some limitations if you have multiple locations.  I also wish they would update how you can select which images to use for your location.

Add more categories for business.

Yelp allows you to add your business and building links to your website. However, Yelp also has some draw backs in what type of services your company may offer.

Solving customer issues as well as obtaining new customers with our positive reviews. Also how we handle or respond to the negative reviews brings customers in our stores.

Yelp is an easy way to get to our customers. Yelp also makes it easy to respond and is user friendly. It is also helpful knowing you can report reviews if needed.

I dont like that you can get locked out of specific locations in the messenger box, or when something should be taken off your page when reported it gets denied.

This is a great way to measure your success and if there are problems people don't come to you with or you don't hear about, you will be able to solve them and give your customers a better experience.

Reaching out to customers letting them know to contact us so we can provide them with a better experience. And overall showing our customers we provide honest business.

They helped our business page expand its area of search, they also helped with the coordination of pictures to bring attention to our facility. I also had a lot of help adding to our "services" section as this is where the search words are based on.

There are so many features that can only be accessed with payment. This is a turn-off for me but I can understand the need, it's a business and they need a profit too.

**Describe the project or task Yelp for Business helped with:**

The platform allows me to optimize our business profile listing and make necessary operational changes if necessary.  The platform shows how much our business appeared on Yelp (the number of times your listings appeared in search results and as an ad), how many user views (the number of times your listing was viewed), and how many customers leads (the number of times a yelp user interacted with your listing).    It shows my business' organic and paid ads performance which assists me in making business decisions.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I love the interface of Yelp and how simple it is to navigate around the platform.  The menus are neatly arranged on the sidebar and doesn't have confusing sub-menus.  It provides a high level metric overview of the ad spend, impression, clicks, Click through rate, cost per click, and what period you'd like to see.  The table only provides a great summary per location. This is extremely helpful especially for those who manage multiple locations.  I also like how you can see Review and Ratings performance month-over-month

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I wish that yelp can have a lot more sophisticated reporting where you can drill down metrics. The reporting can assist in multiple scenarios you are making sense out of.  The current reports right now are in CSV, I wish to have an option of having it in PDF as well.  Under the performance tab, you are able to see user views by desktop and mobile.  This is great and all, but it would be better if you can filter out just the mobile or just the desktop.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

When selecting a partner or a vendor, you must consider two things.
1.  Product enhancement and development - Yelp has been adapting to change which was more evident during the heat of the pandemic.  They have made platform enhancements that makes it easier for the business to communicate to their potential customers.  The enhancement made it easier for the customers to pick and choose the business they want to work with.
2. customer service - it is important to have a reliable person that you are working with during the entire relationship

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upon learning my organic and paid advertising performance, i'm able to identify how much spend I should be allocating for  a certain time period.  It is crucial to understand the ad impressions, ad clicks, click-through rate, cost per click for a certain time period.  I am able to identify if organic or paid advertising brings me in more leads and profile views.  Its also great to learn and see the performance trend month-over-month and year-over-year per location.

This is a great way to promote or explore businesses on Yelp. Yelp creates an easy template for users. Overall, it's a great user experience.

I like how you can clearly find a location, hours of operation or any other basic info.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

It would be cool to incorporate more sharing abilities within the app. For example, if I could send my husband a restaurant recommendation via Yelp I think that would be helpful. That way he could check out the reviews or see the images, too.

Yelp for business helps make edits to all the yelp account that I own. Having multiple locations and being able to see them with one log in is very helpful. We also have an account rep with our enterprise account so they help with the project of updating our locations with ease.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

In Yelp for Business I like that you can update your locations in one place. You can add pictures, update links, and update the various section of the Yelp business page.

I like that you can manage yelp ads, page upgrades, yelp connect, business information, reviews, photos and videos, inbox, check in offers, deals & gift certificates, and billing from the left navigation bar. It is helpful to have all of this in one place.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

In Yelp for Business it is very hard to see all your locations in one place. I try to find a list of all my offices but I have to use the search on the left hand side and it doesnt always show the locations so I think some are missing. Your homepage should have a list of all your offices.

It is also very hard to see who your users are and to add users. You cant just add someone, you have to put a request in. Unlike Google Analytics, Google Ads, or other programs that you use to run your digital marketing, you do not have an admin that you can manage users. You cant even see your users so some older employees may still have access to your Yelp.

I do not like that when I log in it just goes to a random location. I want a dashboard of all my locations.

With Yelp for Business we get an account manager with our enterprise account. So that is very helpful to add locations because on Yelp you cannot see who has access to your location. Without the account manager I would have a hard time managing my yelp pages if they weren't part of Yelp for Business.

We are solving our problem of having incorrect information on our Yelp pages by using Yelp for Business.

Yelp is used to have customers text us and we can provide estimates for service. We use yelp to advertise our services, generate reviews, and to give quotes to customers via message rather than call

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I like that we can text the customers. I also like that it gives you a breakdown of the services being requested.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I really do not like that I am not able to see the customer's location because it does not help me quote the items properly. We have different minimums based on where you live, so if you live super far I have to adjust the cost to ensure the gas is commensurate with the service being performed. I also hate how yelp customers almost never book. They always do not respond, and send out a text to about 10 different companies. It makes personal development extremely difficult. I also do not like how non-descriptive the requests for service are. They give a general statement which does not help me create a proper estimate.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

don't waste the time or money, because it does not generate business from my experience.
It is nearly impossible to share an entire system of cleaning via text. I cannot describe our cleaning process that way.

It generates almost no business, it is super expensive, but it does allow for customer's to see our name and learn about our company.

What I like best is that it is easy to navigate and not a laggy website.

Sometimes the data you were looking for is repeated so you can't avoid get duplicate data's unless you have a formula in your excel sheet or spreadsheet.

At my company, we utilize Yelp to manage brand reputation. We have at least 55 Yelp accounts that span across North America and Yelp for Business helps us continually monitor our performance and respond directly to customer reviews. We also appreciate that customers can share their experiences through photos.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

We really like the ability to directly respond to reviews.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

We get frustrated that Yelp doesn't have an easier way for us to communicate with them. It can be incredibly challenging to reach anyone in customer service at Yelp if there is a compliancy issue or we need to claim a business page. The process easily becomes tedious.

We are more easily and efficiently able to identify and resolve any customer concerns, complaints or issues. We are also able to determine if these people leaving reviews are truly our customers.

The most important thing for this review for yelp for business is that they brought so many new customers to me. Also, their review system is so unique so that there is no way to add them on your own or pay someone to do so. You should be active in yelp so that you can post your review that's why it is trustworthy reviews which surely bring you clients.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

The best thing is that they allow you to put your business for free

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I dislike their customer service as it is useless and they call you every day to say that it's better to pay money so that they can start advertising it better.

We have plenty of reviews on Yelp and we have always made sure to have an account with them. We recently did a wedding package and we needed some help getting it off the ground - Yelp was great for that!

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

The amazing people that work for Yelp. They are so friendly, so nice,  and extremely helpful. I actually love speaking with them on the phone (which is so rare for customer service people). They are also pretty cool to work with in general.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I am the one that has to answer all the phone calls and emails we get in a day, and Yelp does inquire quite a lot. Always asking if we want to run more ads, spend more money, or something in between. That is very bothersome. The sales people are not as nice as their customer service people either.

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are certain features that is absolutely necessary to be successful on Yelp: 1) be verified and own your page 2) have pictures (the right ones - upgrade for this!) 3) good customer service and response time (we try to keep ours under 10 minutes!). With the Yelp for Business app you can do do 3) whenever you have a moment. Yes, you are always "on", but customers love it. And the first person to answer properly - is usually the one that gets hired!

Managing businesses' presence online. Yelp is a regular first-stop for a most consumers when learning about businesses. They love, love, love to vent and review (definitely the good experiences, but ESPECIALLY when they believe they've had a bad time). Choosing to not claim and control your brand's voice on Yelp in 2020 (and a few other platforms) is letting other people talk about your brand on the nightly news without you on camera in the studio too.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

Editing information is nearly-always live, or updates get published quickly.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

So many add-on features and the aggressive, almost predatory nature of their sales team (including phone calls and emails.) There's no such thing as "opting out" of their sales campaigns.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

Be sure to claim your business on Yelp, but unless you're willing to pay for the extras beyond the free service of having an owning a profile with Yelp, don't get bogged down by their "you need these extras" tactics. Dealing with Yelp is just as important as managing any other social media platform (like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) or search engines (like Google, Bing and Yahoo)

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Owning a public, customer-facing business like a restaurant, for example, means people are talking about you. Addressing their concerns, making sure your business hours, photos, and menus are up-to-date are just as crucial on review sites like Yelp as they are on your own business's website. Also, reviewers can be sweet when they love your service, or vicious and spiteful (some (very few) reviewers never patronize the business, but post scandalous things — and the help team doesn't have a great process in place for disputing claims (or removing them when a guest has a legitimate grievance that's addressed to their satisfaction but forgets to update their post.)

The first month I tried advertising with Yelp, I had visited my page through the advertising link a handful of times and since that counted as a "lead" Yelp had been after me for $550 for just that month, for the past year. I even discussed with them this happening by mistake and all they want is their money. My listing on Yelp, even with 8 reviews, does not even show on search because of this.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I love how they have an algorithm for fake and real reviews and I love the products that they offer for generating leads. They also allow profiles for Yelp users, which I am one, to show personalities of product reviewers and not just anonymous people.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

The "a la cart" style of cost within the platform is outrageously expensive. They need to let up on a lot of the cost as more businesses would be in tune with using them. There are so many companies "replicating" services like this that could make them go out of business if they don't catch on. I also don't like how Yelp is still coming after me for $550 from 18 link clicks that I mistakenly performed on my own ad when I was logged into an account that wasn't attached to my business profile.

I wanted to use Yelp as a platform for prospects to see how clients rave about our services, but I realized you do not get anywhere in placement with your business unless you spend the cost of a mortgage payment each month to take on their services and each service relies on the other service to get the entire value. What I mean by that is if you buy one service, you must buy all in order for it to make sense and to work properly.

Yelp has helped our business get more exposure when it comes to obtaining more clients. They also increase our brand recognition by showing our business to prospects who are looking for a Haircut in our area.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I love that Yelp has a great dashboard that allows you to see who has interacted with your page. I love that you are also able to hide ads on your pages and launch ad campaigns on your competitors pages for an extra cost. I also love that I'm shown the cost per obtained clients, with all the analytical data provided it eases the process of trying to break it down myself.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

The cost per click campaigns are way more expensive than search engines. I find that I'm spending upto x10 the amount per click than I would spend using a Google CPC Campaign.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

I would highly recommend using Yelp if you're a small business with alot of competition. Yelp carries alot of respect and when you're blasted all over it you gain a huge advantage over your competitors

With Yelp, we are able to obtain new clients. Yelp provides us with life-time clients by strategically placing our ads within a mile radius around our business. These clients then become recurring clients allowing us to keep them around forever.

This review is simply a review for YELP.  You cannot review them anywhere else.  They have a major problem in the fact that for most businesses, they only post the negative reviews and do not post ANY positive reviews.  Upon numerous contacts to them, they answer it by saying it is an algorithm issue, and not their fault.  Maybe change the algorithm and do some beta testing?  

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

There is not one positive thing I can say about YELP.  I cannot rely on any reviews by them since I know now what I did not know before.  You don't know what you are getting; as they screen reviews and pick and choose.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

Everything, reviews are not honest, because they pick and choose what can be seen and can't be seen.

Dont use them.

YELP does nothing but deter clients, because the reviews are only the negative or fake reviews posted by competitors.

We use Yelp for advertisement and search engine optimization. Keeping our company information synchronized across all channels helps customers to recognize our brand easily.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

I like that Yelp is easy to understand for beginners. I also like that we are able to select "business highlights" with this new feature. This helps customers easily understand what our company is all about. 

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

I dislike the constant harassment for ads. I also do not like that they withhold certain features from your profile if you do not provide payment. They will promote other companies on YOUR COMPANY profile if you do not choose to pay for their ads.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

I would recommend Yelp if you are looking for search engine optimization improvement, however, be prepared to be harassed to purchase ads or profile improvements for your company.

We do have some customers that check our Yelp page for business information. The benefit of this is cross-posting on other social media for consistency.

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

It was pretty easy to set up, and yelp has a overall pretty good authority online. This means our profile was easy to find and its always good to have a yelp page.

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

They are very emotional, i'm not sure how to say it otherwise. They need a bunch of information which i think is not very well organized. For example they need to know the story of the owner, which doesn't really have much to do with my business and looks egocentric from my point of view, but without it your profile is "incomplete". 
They also take down profiles for the weirdest reasons.

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

If you're running a retail or F&B business, I think Yelp would be good for you.

Getting a page for my customers to leave their reviews.

Yelp for Business helps you reply to reviews, answer specific questions, and control what is being said about you on Yelp to some degree. 

**What do you like best about Yelp for Business?**

The notification (if using the app!) each time a review comes in allows us to reply quickly and if there are any issues we can handle it right away which leads to higher customer satisfaction. The ROI on ads is however their best feature. And great customer service! 

**What do you dislike about Yelp for Business?**

The way Yelp decides what reviews to show and what reviews to hide can be frustrating, so no matter how much you spend on ads this can hold you down. The use of the platform is easy if you have experience with computers and digital marketing, if not I think it can be a bit tricky to navigate. 

**Recommendations to others considering Yelp for Business:**

I know you get a lot of sales calls if you own a business, but jumping on a 10-minute sales call with Yelp for biz is worth it! They are so professional and can help you navigate the tricky only marketing world. Yelp pretty much dominates the restaurant industry so if you have a food business, you need a relationship with them
ASAP. 

**What problems is Yelp for Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly reviews and replies to dissatisfied customers. It’s important to be able to respond quickly so that customers feel heard. We also use it for marketing and that has proved to be very successful.

It’s great being able to customize each listing with custom CTA, photos etc. The CPC advertising has significantly boosted our traffic.

The metrics could use some better analysis. A “lead” is too loose a term for what that captures.

I like that there aren't any real competitors to yelp if your business isn't on yelp, it likely isn't reviewed by consumers.

I don't enjoy the fact that reviews never expire. It would make sense that after a certain period of time, reviews shouldn't count toward your overall star rating
